Living with a CAD is no joke.

I live on Medical Management after Triple bypass procedure was considered unviable.

I have strict Diet Regimen.

I Walk twice or thrice day and my range is 10 to 15 Km per day.

This has helped me get strength in past 4.5 years.

It does not make me Invincible though.

End comes to all. I wrote these lines for my last day as I may not have that strength left to write them.

My body is broken, I can feel it.

Weak, crushed and beyond repair.

Surely this is the end, surely there’s no coming back from this.

No, it can’t be, it mustn’t be.

How long has it been?

Minutes? Hours?

Who knows.

Somebody will find me soon though.

Ha, as if. This is no time for jokes, stupid mind.

I’m dying.

Is there really no way out of this mess?

No way for me to live?

I’m not ready to die,

I’m not ready for it all to end.

Somebody please find me, I need help.

Somebody, please save me.

I don’t want to die.

It’s very quiet out here, or maybe my mind is just failing me.

It’s peaceful though, I guess.

But I still need to get out of here, but how?

Things Average Out – Almost daily ! 🙂

My Cup of Tea Meaning: Someone or something that one finds to be agreeable or delightful. My mentor once sadi, ask a stranger for a feedback or a solution to your top of mind problem and you are most likely to get it. I used this today with a Film maker and sought his advice and what a wonderful discussion we had – educative, enlightening, inspiring and most helpful. Acting or making films are not my profession. I did Censor films though 🙂 but being considered for a Cast and an interview by a Top director was not my cup of tea. Advice just flowed and the expert filled many of my knowledge gaps. Wonderful day today.
Quick and Dirty Meaning: Things that done with great speed, but as a result, they are not going to work very well. My MacPro is now old and become so slow that I am fed up. The new models have not arrived in India yet and the dealers are trying to push old models with hard sell. I was looking for a iMac this time as I rarely step out with a laptop but most dealers do not have it in stock in a IT capital of India Bangalore. What a shame ! Are they discontinuing the iMac ? I wonder.
No Ifs, Ands, or Buts Meaning: Finishing a task without making any excuses. To go to a CSC or Family Pension Fund office has become a ritual every year for every Senior citizen. It is sad. Most CSC’s are not equipped or have slow networks and avoid this lowly paid activity. I also face issues with my fingerprints 🙂 – the prints don’t match ! WOW 1 So they take the photo of the eyes at few locations where the queues are huge. Do I have a choice – No!
Quality Time Meaning: Spending time with another to strengthen the relationship. I am loving the Toastmasters. I started going for their meetups in mid August, was terrified with the Table topics but started my Pathways journey and crossed Level 1. It is working well. I like the time spent.
Cut To The Chase Meaning: To get to the point, leaving out all the unnecessary details. The count from a13th May, the Muse and the message, inspiration or negativity is getting buried today. 100k view is still sometime away but mind is at peace and there is no negativity, The heart is pure. Will keep at it by writing more posts and less sharing going forward on this blog.
Cup Of Joe Meaning: A cup of joe is an American nickname for a cup of coffee. The new mentee which I reluctantly took on board without even meeting is enthusiastic and experienced. I receptive and when I pushed him to the wall – his response was fantastic. I like him and may invite him for a cup of Joe 🙂
Shot In the Dark Meaning: An attempt that has little chance for success. Not attempting to do any such things. All well planned activities and limited Goals and it feels great to measure and keep my eyes on the finish line.
Plot Thickens: The Meaning: The latest developments have become made the situation very serious. But I couldn’t care more. Decided not to take ownership or own others’ problems, not get emotionally invested in any one and give advice only when asked. and keep arms length distance.
Beating a Dead Horse Meaning: It is unwise to bring up a past resolved issue. Today is auspicious to close all such matters and resolved to do it. I have started some of my old favorite activities. Whistling, singing, listening to Retro songs and instrumental music and long walks! They are so refreshing.
Playing For Keeps Meaning: Said when things are about to get serious. The coming months are promising. Some good opportunities like filming, Global speakership are coming on the horizon with little efforts. Will attempt new strategies on the blogs and make both very active.

Under Your Nose Meaning: Missing something that should be really obvious. Yes. I obviously missed it. It was long time coming. Should have gauged and anticipated some responses. I tried to keep my nose clean, kept looking beyond my nose on my way forward and missed something right under my nose. It was a terrible mistake.
Mountain Out of a Molehill Meaning: One who escalates small things and turns them into big problems. Doesn’t this sound very familiar. Especially in relationships where you get involved and emotionally invested and the professionalism melts away and gives in to sentiments which cloud judgement. The flip side is when the other person manipulates and makes mountain of molehill and you do not have any lateral means to save the relationships.
Down For The Count Meaning: Someone or something that looks to be defeated, or nearly so. It was a bad sight. All the plans of an ex-mentee went awry by their own design and attitude and mindset. False pride, a deep need of entitlement and gratification did not result in Catharsis and the plot which thickened – did not yield into plans being achieved and inspite of giving full space – failure could not be averted.
Know the Ropes Meaning: Having a familiarity or understanding of how something works. I have become wiser and more informed, more in-sync now with the Speaker business and enhancing my skills and nuanced learning with the new mentors and evaluators. The Udemy courses I did are wonderful. The interaction with the Writing and Speaking instructors most valuable and fun.
Jack of All Trades Master of None Meaning: Having suitable skill in multiple things, but not being an expert in any of them. I remember once getting a couplet Quote “Jack of all trades. Master of many. Jay of tall crusades. Blaster unlike any.” in my praise perhaps. And a poem

It is about the so-called
Elite class and the
so-called Classless” End Quote. I loved it then. I now realise that it was only a momentary praise – not even skin deep. I choose to live and die as MASTER OF NONE and attain Mastery in Servitude – Service Attitude – which helps me serve the Humanity .
Mouth-watering Meaning: Delicious; something that looks or tastes appetizing. What a spread of Sweets and goodies my wife made for past 3-4 days for Diwali. Just mouth watering. And I am almost breaking my Diet Regimen to taste the savouries. Wish I had also learnt to make some – though I did dabble and disturb for some time to keep her motivated and give her company. The Smile was my reward.
Like Father Like Son Meaning: Resembling one’s parents in terms of appearance or behavior. My daughters – the loving / doting daughters at times display the same behaviour – the appearance is more mother like but mannerisms and logic, the anger, Temper, the drive, grit, determination – much like me =- I pat myself for having great daughters and don’t regret not having a son.
Ring Any Bells? Meaning: Recalling a memory; causing a person to remember something or someone. A Birthday triggered a memory and I wrote a confession in a post and sent it to the person I had hurt. When words hurt – the pain and wounds take longer to heal so I did not expect any response and predictably there was none.
Give a Man a Fish Meaning: It’s better to teach a person how to do something than to do that something for them. I am looking for a Fish or a Fishing Rod for 7.5 years post retirement secretly but yet to find it. Post Heart attacks when the revenue stream dried and dependence on passive income grew – there was no will left to monetise and I continued with my pro-bono work wholeheartedly – All In mentoring.
Greased Lightning Meaning: Very fast or quick. It still remains my top strength to come to a decision with Lightning speed. It is more now with NeoCortex than the Neo-limbic and that’s even better.

Horns of Dilemma and Jay’s Tantra Way

Whenever faced with a situation leading to horns of dilemma; that could cause me to procrastinate, delay, be in double minds like sitting on the horns of Dilemma, I go back to two holy books. 1. A Bible 2. BhagvadGita. I randomly select 2 verses and usually find my answers. I named it as Jay’s Tantra way.

Passage: No one is fierce enough to rouse it. Who then is able to stand against me?

This is what the Bible verse said.

See some similarities in the two random verses?

The doubt in my heart is born out of ignorance and I need to establish myself in Yoga and stand up for fight- Cut my doubt in the heart with the sword of wisdom.
Who is able to stand against you? There is no one fierce enough to rouse it.

I derived the following meaning – the chosen path is right. I need to concentrate, meditate and be ready for the fight whether or not it happens.

I also know, I have class and it will have to be a really fierce fight, if someone were to oppose or put hurdles in my chosen path.

Sounds simple, NO? I like this technique to work all the time.

Swinging For the Fences Meaning: Giving something your all. Yes. Giving All in to the 3 Goals I have set. Screen time reduced. Walking/ listening time increased. Talk time improving still. Video recordings not on schedule.
Keep Your Shirt On Meaning: Keeping calm. Usually said by someone who is trying to avoid making others upset. Have to learn to like my voice and face and expressions on the video. After all, others are somehow tolerating me 🙂
Elvis Has Left The Building Meaning: Something that is all over. Yes. This year too many People, Relationships are over. The pleasure was of course, in giving. Giving to those who can not see – the visually challenged people who will never know their Giver, the benefactor.
Playing For Keeps Meaning: Said when things are about to get serious. Joining my third ToastMasters on coming sunday. The International Champ Speaker is impressive club leader. Worth learning something from him.
A Fool and His Money are Soon Parted Meaning: It’s easy for a fool to lose his/her money. I thought I negotiated well. To the working class painter of the house I was bit benevolent and did not hard bargain – with the shopkeeper though, it was another matter. In balance a good deal.
Cry Wolf Meaning: Someone that calls for help when it is not needed. Someone who is lying. Interesting study I learnt that the highest number of lies are told over phone and the least on the emails. I now understand the meaning of “Plausible deniablility”:) .
Back To the Drawing Board Meaning: Starting over again on a new design from a previously failed attempt. It is not easy to restart Speechcrafting, writing, learning to punctuate but Udemy and online platforms are the new addictions due to great trainers. One of them, I interacted with today few times over a failed PDF and what great responses – speedy, concerned, showed care and full of support for the student – WOW – I told the lady, I shall enroll for her next course. It made her day.
Jumping the Gun Meaning: Something that occurs too early before preparations are ready. Starting too soon. No, not making this mistake again. Have learnt my lessons in the Shani’s Sade Saati year 2018 🙁 .
Ring Any Bells?Meaning: Recalling a memory; causing a person to remember something or someone. Reading some poetry blogs these days. I just keep appreciating them as I know I can never write such great poetry. Some are sad souls but most are very sane inspite of their sorrow, sadness, emotive yet sensible. The art of writing and the flair and flourish of many of them is so remarkable and I believe they must be atleast 30 to 40 years younger to me. Great poetry. I love it.
Scot-free Meaning: Getting away freely from custody, punishment, or any type of risky situation. What am I scot free from? I wonder. Closeted in my drawing room, glued to my chair and the screen – it is only when I walk slowly, calmly, steadily, haltingly, I feel the fresh breath of air, the cool, Bengaluru weather and the breeze and the moment I sweat – my instincts tell me it is going to rain – and it does. The cool weather returns. Feels like freedom!

Back To the Drawing Board Meaning: Starting over again on a new design from a previously failed attempt. Restarting the Learning Process after a gap. I have found some interesting courses on Udemy about Startups, Funding, Angel investing and others of my interest.
Burst Your Bubble Meaning: To ruin someone’s happy moment. Hmmm… some WhatsApps, some SMS, some emails. do that regularly but I have cut short on all of them to a bare minimum i.e. Responding by a Namaste and rarely with a request to call if at all. Mails as per Mail Track are averaging 3 per week and that gives me a lot of time to work on my 3 key goals.
Cry Over Spilt Milk Meaning: It’s useless to worry about things that already happened and cannot be changed. Yes this happens. It is true. And it is best to Let go of the past.
Happy as a Clam Meaning: The state of being happy; feeling delighted. Preparing speeches, writing articles, keeps busy and happy. Once the creativity juices are flowing there is no stopping of happiness – it just follows.
Fish Out Of Water Meaning: Someone being in a situation that they are unfamiliar or unsuited for. I left a Club last week. I was feeling like a fish out of water as my worth was not respected, people were indulging in groupism and politics. Best to keep off.
Quick On the Draw Meaning: Performing an action with the greatest of haste. My habit of quickest possible withdrawal from situations where I notice personal egos dominating, politics stench starting to form. I am quick to withdraw – call it draw or my way – with-draw 🙂
Head Over Heels Meaning: Falling deeply in love with another person. That time is past, those years are gone now. Even the memories are fading – and no use asking doctors for memory booster medicines to get them back as they come with mixed feelings.
Shot In the Dark Meaning: An attempt that has little chance for success. No. Not taking unwanted, undue risks. That time is past. Now is time to be calm, quiet and face life and bid the time. There are some up-ticks and they brighten the day and they are much needed relief.

Knuckle Down Meaning: Getting sincere about something; applying oneself seriously to a job. Two impromptu Ice-breaker speeches – moving towards Goal 1. Did not win prize, got a participation certificate but the pleasure was in audience individuals – rank strangers coming back not just complimenting but quoting me ‘VERBATIM’ and saying, they loved it, they would like to keep in touch, some even said we would like to learn a few things from you. I was humbled.
Dropping Like Flies Meaning: To fall down ill or to die in large numbers. I wish it does not happen to humans, pests and insects, viruses and diseases is another matter. What I noticed today is the best Evaluators club of Toastmasters had difficulty in filling the hall with audience and participants for the Marathons the Area Directors are planning to hold across city. One actually said about ATTRITION of members? That was sad. It said a lot about the lack of leadership and the Pull and Push of the managing committees.
Man of Few Words Meaning: A person who does not speak a great deal; someone who talks with as few words as possible. Met an interesting person. He was my speech evaluator. His speciality is being brief and as an extempore impromptu ice breaker speaker who was pushed to speak – I had failed by exceeding the time limit. He said he will mail his evaluation ! That’s it. 🙂
Poke Fun At Meaning: Making fun of something or someone; ridicule. Had this experience. At the end of a dominant communicator speech the speaker did actually did not want any questions. When asked – he asked me to repeat thrice and explain 4 time and I was about to say – “Let’s take this off line as I did not ask this to challenge you but to support your views, just clarifying a point”. Some Speakers are on their High HOrse ! They feel, they are the only one who can challenge! Anyone asking a question is a lowly minion, dimwit and brainless. My Professorial hat tells me to answer them – Questions are never stupid – answers are – like mine 🙂 🙂 .
Hear, Hear Meaning: A shout of agreement, or to draw attention to a speaker. I asked the speaker that when a friend is faced with problems – should I make an appreciative enquiry and find what solutions he has in his mind, as he knows the problems best. Second, is my friend looking for an Affirmation that the solution he has found has my tacit support so that he can try it out with heart? I was taken round and round in derogatory circles with a menacing look on the face by a socalled Guinness Award winner and World Speech champion and I felt very sad for him. What did I do to hurt his Ego?
On the Same Page Meaning: Thinking alike or understanding something in a similar way with others. Sometimes, in a gathering when you wish to say that you are in the same boat, same page, thinking alike – it is best to use non-verbal communication like nodding your head to convey Yes, I agree.
Swinging For the Fences Meaning: Giving something your all. One more article coming up in a new club Newsletter which was launched today. Felt great. Meeting new Chamber of commerce and meeting some very interesting and interested people ( atleast on the face of it) I felt great and felt genuinely that there are things I can do to assist and help. The new Chairman was receptive and said wants to have a one on one Strategy/ vision statement session. He said he is a Visual thinker like me, that was pleasing.
Up In Arms Meaning: Angry; being roused to the point that you are ready to fight. But I gave up. I saw on Whatsapp the pictures of a poor girl being honored by a sport shoes company and giving them her name as she could not afford them. i felt sad for someone whose dream was ignited, latent wishes brought to fore in my mentoring but had given up on them with diffidence. I was angry inside but let go.

Hmmm… it was a busy day, I could have gone and got my Suits overhauled now that I have lost so much weight and bought a new pair of formal shoes as the formal meetings are moving up but I just changed jackets for two occasions – Reminder to self – GO FIX THIS ASAP.

I found a senior evaluator indulging in overstatements, exaggerations, over praise, excessive acting skills show and was bit turned off. Then I met him one on one for about 7 minutes, got his life story out and realised that even at our late age – the need to RECOGNITION is so high that NAME AUR FAME KE LIYE KUCHH BHI KAREGA i.e. I’ll do any thing to get name and fame. I quietly agreed to disagreed and moved on to another person by saying “Sorry, Sir, I do not wish to monopolise you, others also need your kind attention”. Thank you.

Tug of War Meaning: It can refer to the popular rope pulling game or it can mean a struggle for authority. That happened for 38 good years – both me and my better half each of us playing bullying games all the time, 🙂
Yada Yada Meaning: A way to notify a person that what they’re saying is predictable or boring. I almost said this when she proposed a trip to Konark – i said why not the beaches and temples in Thailand 🙂 🙂 and the water sports and the shopping and the boat rides and the coral reefs. And I said why not go with our daughters’ mother in law and bond better 🙂 🙂
Fight Fire With Fire Meaning: To retaliate with an attack that is similar to the attack used against you. No. not any more. In fact, I agreed with a friend today to erase all the latest communications also as they also reside in the virtual world and can be read by many. 🙁 🙁

Fool’s Gold Meaning: Iron pyrities is a worthless mineral that resembles gold. Yes. I have made several errors of judgements this years and cut off all of the people whom I trusted as Gold. Giving Trust at the first meeting, first call is my biggest problem over the years.
You Can’t Judge a Book By Its Cover Meaning: Don’t judge someone or something only by the outward appearance. Being judgemental comes last to me, looking at Strengths, getting committed and giving Trust comes first and I need to change to Blue mindset and begin by saying “Basically” more. 🙂

Like Father Like Son Meaning: Resembling one’s parents in terms of appearance or behavior. Yes. The receding hairline on my forehead and rear part of head do make me resemble like my father but he was dark brown, I am pale brown in skin – may be because my mom was fair skinned.
Back To the Drawing Board Meaning: Starting over again on a new design from a previously failed attempt. To work on the three goals Speaking, Writing, Learning is he only focus. No more mentoring. No more Freebies or free advice to anyone.
Playing For Keeps Meaning: Said when things are about to get serious. The feedback slips which many of Toastmasters handed me after my icebreaker speech really make me believe that “It all starts with a speech”. I am enjoying my Udemy speech and body language lessons and practicing to make videos to self correct as far as possible.
A Piece of Cake Meaning: A task that is simple to accomplish. I thought making and watching my own video of speech would be easy – It is scary. I find my voice and face manners unacceptable to myself.
Give a Man a Fish Meaning: It’s better to teach a person how to do something than to do that something for them. I facilitate many mentees with Equipments as gifts for improving their skills, helping them practice and books to further augment their sharpening of skills. I truly believe in this phrase.
Not the Sharpest Tool in the Shed Meaning: Someone who isn’t witty or sharp, but rather, they are ignorant, unintelligent, or senseless. I sometimes behave this way. My friend read my article and said Mirthful – I had to look up Google and then I realised it is pronounced MOUTHFUL and is associated with fun and my friend was actually pr aising me. What a dimwit I am but I learnt new word.
Fight Fire With Fire Meaning: To retaliate with an attack that is similar to the attack used against you. I am a challenger, and I am not under any attack so I think this is a good phrase but not relevant to me and hope it never comes true.
Love Birds Meaning: A pair of people who have a shared love for each other. The number of poems I read on WordPress gives me a sincerely a heart break feeling that we have more lovelorn love lost poets here than love birtds. Would be interesting to know if love birds share poetry with social media?
Drawing a Blank Meaning: Failing to recall a memory. Unable to remember something. That’s usually happening with me especially with names, things. Forgetting to wear a watch, taking keys while going out – small things. Some medication is helping or perhaps not.
Fish Out Of Water Meaning: Someone being in a situation that they are unfamiliar or unsuited for. That is the sinking feeling I used to get dealing with TAble topics at Toastmasters. Slowiy my fish is finding water and depth 🙂 .

Let Her Rip Meaning: Permission to start, or it could mean ‘go faster!’ The Three Focus areas are clear to me now. 1. Toast Masters – TOCK ( like in Tick-Tock of the clock) journey 2. Continue to write on wordpress, globallinkers and medium regularly and may be, publish some ebooks on Amazon for posterity. 3. Keep learning i.e. Finish the first 100 courses on Udemy of which I have completed 55 already and then enroll for more. Learning should never end.
Poke Fun At Meaning: Making fun of something or someone; ridicule. Abond person who shared others’ SECRET emails can not be trusted – he can do the same to you. I met such a man recently and ridiculed him. Broke all bonds as breaking a Pro-bono mentor bond is the easiest as the other person who is un-mentorable hasn’t paid me a penny. I feel happy to GRO – Get Rid Off them from my life.
Happy as a Clam Meaning: The state of being happy; feeling delighted. Last week or so been sleeping in the noon and gaining weight for no reason but still feeling a delight inside. I don’t know why.

I retraced a step rather stuck to my principles and values and stayed off from the Thugs masquerading as Mentees and were leeches on my time, efforts and money. Ride Him, Cowboy! Meaning: A cheer people yell, usually at rodeos when cowboys are clinging to the backs of untamed horses. I am leaving Mentoring – i.e. ProBono mentoring. I have heard several audios and videos now to change my belief system that Coaching is paid while mentoring is free. This year has taught me this lesson.
Top Drawer Meaning: High quality, exceptional; something that’s very valuable. I still wish to do the Tony Robbins Coaching course once I have funds. It is too costly given the falling Rupee prices these days.
Easy As Pie Meaning: Something that is easy. I loved and passed the two recent Udemy courses and I found them the best so far that I practiced and practiced and practiced.
Under Your Nose Meaning: Missing something that should be really obvious. Trying to become a myopic now and not see beyond my nose as life get difficult and difficult. A politician who was so upbeat last week to offer me a national position ws so morose and down today that I could not believe my ears. But I did a course that says that people lie the most on phone, SMS, WhatsApp and least on emails. One of my mentees famously said to me about “plausible deniability” and changed his email servers for entire company emails every 6 months. That was paranoid.
Right Out of the Gate Meaning: Right from the beginning; to do something from the start. The latest courses Pathways and Body language are very appealing – the behavioural economics, Brain, Hypnotism, NLP and neuromarketing are next focus of learning
Par For the Course Meaning: What you would expect to happen; something normal or common. The astrologers say till 2020 the Saturn 2.5 years are worst indicated. A friendly actuary predicted death in 1000 days and I am on a countdown as per him. I am not out to prove him right or wrong. I think I shall be par for the course.

Jay’s Tantra: To resolve a Dilemma

Sometimes, I have dilemma. Mostly the decision is about People who come in my life, stay there, get benefitted, some reciptrocate, some don’t. Some cost me money, some Time, Some deep efforts and some simply gifts and for some I give all that I have.

Then come some moments, decisive when the masks are unpeeled, they fall off, the gloves come off, bad behaviour, attitude, insults start hurting and I realise the my Trust was ill-placed. I have made a huge error of judgement.

In such times, I use Jay’s Tantra. The simplest way is to consult and seek advice from the Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipotent – The Om -HIMSELF. I go to BhagvadGita and choose a random shloka. I also go to a Bible someone gifted me years ago. I take a Verse for Bible.

I then decipher meaning as per my understanding and draw inferences. These are not regular moments, they happen when I have a deep dilemma. It is never a Conscience issue though as Conscientious decisions come to me quick and fast – No problem there.

Today’s Dilemma was solved by these two and I urge readers to try this if you come across such difficult moments in life.

Under Your Nose Meaning: Missing something that should be really obvious. How did I miss the obvious that the Business person in a mentee will always prefer MONEY, MONEY, MONEY and if here is seductive voice enticing – he will surely and certainly fall for it.
High And Dry Meaning: To be left behind; abandoned. Being in a helpless situation without a way to recover. No. That does not happen and it is no pretense, in my mind, I work these scenarios and still try and address issues as a Human being and forgive people as humans.
A Fool and His Money are Soon Parted Meaning: It’s easy for a fool to lose his/her money. I do lose some, but do keep losing – primarily to my false pride, magnanimity and the inability to find untrustworthy people.
You Can’t Judge a Book By Its Cover Meaning: Don’t judge someone or something only by the outward appearance. Time is ripe now that I actually should judge the book by its cover.
Jaws of Life Meaning: Usually this references a tool used by rescuers when they pry or cut open a car to save the occupant. I take this as a cue to use my strong arms and use the strength to overcome the situations that are regularly arising.
Down For The Count Meaning: Someone or something that looks to be defeated, or nearly so. Just trying to visualise the moves as -people are sharp, smart and pretend – They appear unable, when able and Appear able when the are unable. Even the best strategists can fail to read this at first glance.

This year I have acted more decisively, more abruptly, more impulsively – especially when it came to people decisions. I did two Udemy courses today. One on Impromptu speaking – most wonderful experience. Another on Humourous speeches. Not great.

Shot In the Dark Meaning: An attempt that has little chance for success. Waiting for the proverbial Godot. A friend offered something big, then began playing unavailable, then asked concept note. Sent it in all earnest. Let’s see.
Quick and Dirty Meaning: Things that are fixed with great speed, but as a result, it’s probably not going to work very well. Hmmmm….. I have that fear about this proposal to be something I am really not. I wish to give it a try, just because opportunity comes my way. Not my type of thinking really!
Flea Market Meaning: A type of bazaar where inexpensive goods are sold or bartered. Wonder what that means. An article of over 3500 words is liked and then I am told to cut it short to 750 word. No. Not gonna do it! WTH are there Editors for? Why can’t they set the word limit while giving the offer to write. And above all, it is probono work not even paid. I am seriously going to stop all FREE, probono work. ENUFFFF!!!!

CONVERSATION on Linkedin this morning with a Cartoonist turned to Golf and we used many terms about the game but in the end I gave up. Not my cup of tea – this free advice game has to stop forthwith…. Getting Bored to death!

Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to all Readers. A very auspicious day. One of the 3.5 days of Muhurtha – when beginning a new thing is considered Good.

I started with a long walk, Ganapati Darshan and returned with many thoughts, ideas about a start and towards noon got lazy and just slept.

Wake Up Call Meaning: An occurance of sorts that brings a problem to somebody’s attention and they realize it needs fixing. I realised that I need to create the Course outline and content for sharing with a Digital marketer friend for planning a self managed training event soon.
Don’t Look a Gift Horse In The Mouth Meaning: When you receive a gift from someone, do not be ungrateful. Yes. I try to do that as I get very few in life as i am more a Giver but I have met the worst ingrates this year.
Swinging For the Fences Meaning: Giving something your all. My resolve is to Give my all to Writing, Speaking and organising Self managed training, coaching, mentoring events going forward.
A Chip on Your Shoulder Meaning: Being angry about something that happened in the past. Yes. I do carry a few and wish that they dissolve. नींद तो दर्द के बिस्तर पे भी आ सकती है
Lovey Dovey Meaning: The affectionate stuff that people do when they are in love, such as kissing and hugging. Hmmmm…. why did this phrase turn up suddenly today?
All Greek To Me Meaning: When something is incomprehensible due to complexity; unintelligble. Fortunately, the abstract, Greek, Latin, Spanish speaking rubbish is out of my hair. It was just too much of Intellectual F@#$ing I had gone thru – rather willing/ unwillingly. No one. Just me to blame.
If You Can’t Stand the Heat, Get Out of the Kitchen Meaning: One should discontinue with a task if they are unable to cope with it due to pressure. Yes. I am slowly moving out of all the Heat and Kitchen areas.

Strange Bio-Rhythms, Random Phrases, creativity and Daily WebLog :)

I believe in Bio-Rhythms. Have done so for over 30 years – ever since I read the book about the research on Bio-rhythms and wanted to buy the Japanese – CASIO watch which showed 3 biorhythms – Physical, Emotional and Intellectual. They also sold Cards in those days where you can calculate your critical days and avoid major financial decisions, Driving, Flying a plane etc. etc. etc.

It was interesting when I found the Apps on Android and iPhones. I downloaded and saw a fourth one added – i.e. Intution ! I said, it is getting interesting. As per initial book if I were to calculate I should have been Dead when I was 58+ i.e. 23 X 28 X 33 days = 58 years, …. days. I did not believe it. The book also talked about how they scientifically studied the Date of birth and time of birth of the Rail, Plane, Sea, Cycle, Bicycle, Car, Bus and Electrical accidents and deaths. It appeared scientific and eventhough a Skeptic I said let us give it a try and it has remained with me as a Daily watch every morning before my morning walks – to watch in the phone.

Today was not supposed to be great. The biorhythm explanation said do and see what Random Phrases turned up this morning.

Hard Pill to Swallow Meaning: Something that’s difficult to accept. Wife was travelling and I had to cut short my morning walk by 2/3rd to be back home for opening door for the housemaid.
Yada Yada Meaning: A way to notify a person that what they’re saying is predictable or boring. I recall having done this a few days ago and quite harshly using all the bitterness and venom in my brain flowing thru my fingers and typing.
Money Doesn’t Grow On Trees Meaning: Suggests that money is a resource that must be earned and is not one that’s easily acquired. True enough, nothing worth challenging the statement but which tree to plant is a question came to my mind as I am seriously thinking of joining some Kisan Morcha of a political party and fight for their rights.
On the Same Page Meaning: Thinking alike or understanding something in a similar way with others. Not happening with me for few months. I am too much of a challenger this year and have broken off with many due to differences, attitudinal issues or having met simple INGRATES and suckers and some who were a disgrace to the word MENTOR.
No-Brainer Meaning: Anything that requires minimal brain activity to accomplish. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, I recently heard a speech and to a longwinded un=stupid question ( questions are never stupid – answers are) the speaker could not properly respond. I thought of C A P – Common sense, Alert response, Presence of mind – if this was used by the old man = A DTM ( toast masters lingo) he would have been better off.
Read ‘Em and Weep Meaning: Often said by the winner in poker, as the others ‘weep’ over the loss. No. Not happening. I am playing for negotiation, accent, agreement these days perforce.
Jumping the Gun Meaning: Something that occurs too early before preparations are ready. Starting too soon. May be, I should have waited for the 500 words contest write up submission till the last date but I just sent it. I also sent an article 3 months before the magazine is due to be published on the occasion of an International conference in which the organisers wish to invite me.
Dropping Like Flies Meaning: To fall down ill or to die in large numbers. We had this with our relatives family when every one fell sick couple of weeks ago. Mumbai weather made me sick too.
Goody Two-Shoes Meaning: A smugly virtuous person. I met one recently, was introduced by a friend, highly recommended but the guy was so snooty, SOB and highhanded – he did not even offer to shake hands. I said F. Off!
Fish Out Of Water Meaning: Someone being in a situation that they are unfamiliar or unsuited for. Not seen this yet, but the Astrologer friend’s remark about a foreign proposal that it will be below dignity if we accept was intriguing. Need to probe him further.

So overall still an interesting day.

You Can’t Judge a Book By Its Cover Meaning: Don’t judge someone or something only by the outward appearance. The lady who gave an emotional story was so non=descript but the way she spoke – Fabulous – there were tears in my eyes. Such a moving Tale.

English is a FUNNY language – Said Shri Amitabh Bachchan in a film dialogue. i fully Agree.

I was writing to a Mentee of mine who is struggling and in the endline mentioned – Hope you face your Waterloo soon ! I had of course, heard someone say it. I knew it was about Napoleon Bonaparte but I did not know the meaning.

I sent the mail and checked the dictionary and said WTH – let me find my right word. And Lo and Behold ! I found it. I wanted to say – let this incident / function today prove to be your Watershed moment and all your struggles should come to fruition!

So, you can see, English is such a funny language. I was sending a short resume on whatsapp to a membership incharge of Toastmasters and I said, i was an Orator, Debator and extempore speaker and I wish to relearn speaking skills as redundancy has set in. And What?

After a while I saw a message with smileys and thumbs ups ! and I said, what happened? he liked my resume? And I read and re-read again.

It read I was and Orator, SENATOR ( capitals mine) and I said WTH 1 This is T9 and Grammarly dictionary apps promoting me! WOW!

On both occasions I laughed inwardly at my own self and my follies and said Oh – perhaps the morning Random Phrase is coming true for me.

Scot-free Meaning: Getting away freely from custody, punishment, or any type of risky situation. When you are an Evaluator of a meeting and you get away with Murder i.e. very harsh remarks about the weakest of your own team members.
Under the Weather Meaning: Not feeling well, in health or mood. The bad biorhythms period has gone away. A week ago, it was very critical with all 3 rhythms passing thru critical level. It can cause accidents, or death. Good the phase is over.

I am doing a new Learning course about Master 5 key elements of Story Writing/ Telling.

The Key elements are

To Ramp this all up – it is essential to churn some new ideas and I am using the Random Phrases/ Idiom Generation methods. This is close to what I learnt at Dr. Edward de Bono’s Serious creativity and Lateral thinking books and trainings. They are great.

A Good Plan’s All You Need. This is true. I need to plan again. Have tried several things, done several things. My core is into Strategy and Planning but have done many things impulsively. Good Random inputs.

A Bandage For Your Sorrow. Is there a Bandage for Sorrows? I have proved to be with a touch of Magic and the remaining half of my heart ( after cardiac issues) of Gold, Pure and Untouched. But what I really need is a Hand that heals those unseen, only felt wounds and sorrows people undergo. It is a gift I keep demanding the God and wait for his Kindness to shower.

Author Anne Herbert coined the phrase “Random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty,” basing it on the all-too-commonly used “random acts of violence and senseless acts of cruelty.” The idea has caught on, but there are times when you shouldn’t be practicing acts of kindness. So, before we look at why you should practice them, let’s be mindful of two reasons why you shouldn’t do so:

Self-aggrandisement and publicity.That’s right! No selfies when you give that homeless guy food!
Getting in the way of emergency services (although your intentions are good). In situations where emergency services are already active, ask how you can help instead of just diving in head-first.

Lastly, let’s not forget that charity begins at home. Unexpectedly helping a friend or family member also counts. The person you help needn’t be a stranger. Now that we’ve got beyond the caveats, let’s look at some reasons why you should practice random acts of kindness.

You genuinely get to help, even if it’s only in a small way

This one’s a real no-brainer. You aren’t being kind if you aren’t helping. By helping someone else, even if it’s only holding a door open, smiling at someone or offering to carry shopping bags, you have genuinely helped. The person you’ve been kind to feels more valued, and who knows? There could be a knock-on effect.

Make others feel good

There are a lot of sad, lonely or depressed people out there. Even if the person you help wasn’t feeling down, you’ll make them feel good. If you’re truly a kind person, this will be one of your prime reasons for practicing random acts of kindness.

Feel good yourself

Although this shouldn’t be the reason why you are kind to others, it will be an inevitable consequence. Psychologists point out that as social creatures, helping others satisfies a very deep need within our psyche. It’s instinctive and inevitable. Things Average Out – Almost daily ! 🙂

Quality Time Meaning: Spending time with another to strengthen the relationship. I am loving the Toastmasters. I started going for their meetups in mid August, was terrified with the Table topics but started my Pathways journey and crossed Level 1. It is working well. I like the time spent.

Shot In the Dark Meaning: An attempt that has little chance for success. Not attempting to do any such things. All well planned activities and limited Goals and it feels great to measure and keep my eyes on the finish line.

Plot Thickens: The Meaning: The latest developments have become made the situation very serious. But I couldn’t care more. Decided not to take ownership or own others’ problems, not get emotionally invested in any one and give advice only when asked. and keep arms length distance.
