True Self-knowledge


To arrive at true self-knowledge is to arrive at God-realization. God-realization is a unique state of consciousness.It is different from all the other states of consciousness because all the other states of consciousness are experienced through the medium of the individual mind whereas the state of God-consciousness is in no way dependent upon the individual mind or any other medium.A medium is necessary for knowing something other than one’s own self: for knowing one’s own self no medium is necessary.

Open your heart by weeding out all desires and by harboring only one longing—the longing for union with the Ultimate Reality. That Ultimate Reality is not to be sought in the changing things of external environment, but in one’s own being.-

Date certain

One of the most expensive things a service business or freelancer can do is promise that work will be done by a certain day. Which is something we need to do, of course, but we should charge appropriately. “It’ll be done soon,” should be way cheaper than, “It’ll be done at exactly 11 am on Tuesday.”

And one of the most important things we can do to focus our energy and commitment is be prepared to promise a date certain. It sharpens everything.

Re-orient life


The individual soul has to realize its identity with the Supreme Universal Soul with full consciousness.

Men shall have re-orientation of life in the light of this Ancient Truth; and they will readjust their attitude towards their neighbours in everyday life.

God is…


God is Indivisible One, and is indivisibly in each one and everything.
What is it then that causes apparent divisions? There are no divisions as such, but there is an appearance of separateness because of ignorance. This means that everything is of ignorance and that every one is Ignorance personified.
A drop in an ocean is not separate from the ocean. It is a bubble over the drop that gives it an appearance of separateness, but when the bubble bursts the drop is not, and the indivisible ocean is.
When the bubble of ignorance bursts the self realizes its oneness with the indivisible Self.

Bhagvad-Gita अध्याय 12 का श्लोक 5


अध्याय 12 का श्लोक 5

क्लेशः, अधिकतरः, तेषाम्, अव्यक्तासक्तचेतसाम्,
अव्यक्ता, हि, गतिः, दुःखम्, देहवद्भिः, अवाप्यते।।5।।

अनुवाद: (तेषाम्) उन (अव्यक्तासक्तचेतसाम्) अदृश ब्रह्ममंे

आसक्तचित्तवाले पुरुषोंके साधनमें (क्लेशः)

वाद-विवाद रूपी क्लेश अर्थात् कष्ट (अधिकतरः)

विशेष है (हि) क्योंकि (देहवद्भिः)

देहाभिमानियों के द्वारा (अव्यक्ता)

अव्यक्तविषयक (गतिः)

गति (दुःखम्)

दुःखपूर्वक (अवाप्यते) प्राप्त की जाती है। (5)

विशेष:– इस श्लोक 5 में क्लेश अर्थात् कष्ट का भार्वाथ है कि पूर्ण परमात्मा की साधना मन के आनन्द से विपरित चल कर की जाती है।

मन चाहता है शराब पीना, तम्बाखु पीना, मांस खाना, नाचना, गाना आदि इन को त्यागना ही क्लेश कहा है।

परमेश्वर की भक्ति विधि का यथार्थ ज्ञान न होने के कारण आपस में वाद-विवाद करके दुःखी रहते हैं।

एक दूसरे से अपने ज्ञान को श्रेष्ठ मानकर अन्य से इर्षा करते है जिस कारण से क्लेश होता है।

५) सच्चिदानंदघन निराकार ब्रह्मांत चित्त गुंतलेल्या त्या पुरुषांच्या साधनांत कष्ट जास्त आहेत. कारण देहाचा अभिमान असणार्‍यांकडून अव्यक्त ब्रह्माची प्राप्ती कष्टानेच होत असते.

Surrender yourself to the cause of God.


Divine Love will make men selfless and helpful in their mutual relations and it will bring about the final solution of all problems. The new brotherhood on earth shall be a fulfilled fact and nations will be united in the fraternity of Love and Truth.
My existence is for this Love and this Truth; and to suffering humanity I say: Have hope.
I have come to help you in surrendering yourselves to the cause of God and in accepting His Grace of Love and Truth.
I have come to help you in winning the one Victory of all victories—to win your self.

Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 12, Verse 3-4


ये त्वक्षरमनिर्देश्यमव्यक्तं पर्युपासते |
सर्वत्रगमचिन्त्यञ्च कूटस्थमचलन्ध्रुवम् || 3||

सन्नियम्येन्द्रियग्रामं सर्वत्र समबुद्धय: |
ते प्राप्नुवन्ति मामेव सर्वभूतहिते रता: || 4||

Translation

BG 12.3-4: But those who worship the formless aspect of the Absolute Truth—the imperishable, the indefinable, the unmanifest, the all-pervading, the unthinkable, the unchanging, the eternal, and the immoveable—by restraining their senses and being even-minded everywhere, such persons, engaged in the welfare of all beings, also attain Me.

Commentary

Having said that worship of the personal form is the best, Shree Krishna clarifies that in no way does He reject the worship of the formless.  Those who devote themselves to the all-pervading, indefinable, unmanifest, inconceivable, immovable, eternal Brahman, also attain God.

Living beings are of an infinite variety of natures.  The Supreme Lord who has created this variety also possesses an infinite variety of aspects to His personality.  For the sake of our finite comprehension, we classify the infinite manifestations of God into categories.  Accordingly, Ved Vyas has classified God’s various manifestations into three types, Brahman, Paramātmā, and Bhagavān, as mentioned in the commentary of the previous verse.  One may worship either of these categories, but one should never claim that one’s conception of God is the only correct one while those of the others are erroneous.

In verse 4.11, Shree Krishna had stated: “In whatever way people surrender unto Me, I reciprocate with them accordingly.  Everyone follows My path in all respects, O son of Pritha.”  Here, Shree Krishna confirms that the worshippers of the formless also reach Him.  Since their choice is to unite with the attributeless manifestation of the Supreme Absolute Truth, God meets them as the unmanifest, all-pervading Brahman.

Translation

BG 12.1: Arjun inquired: Between those who are steadfastly devoted to Your personal form and those who worship the formless Brahman, who do You consider to be more perfect in Yog?

Commentary

In the last chapter, Arjun saw the cosmic form of the Lord, which encompasses the entire universe.  Having seen it, he preferred to behold God in His personal form, with Attributes, Qualities, and Pastimes.  So, he is now curious regarding who are more perfect—the devotees who worship the personal form of God or those who worship the impersonal Brahman.

Arjun’s question once again confirms that God has both aspects—the all-pervading formless Brahman and the personal form.  Those who say that God cannot possess a personal form limit Him, and those who say that God only exists in a personal form also limit Him.  God is perfect and complete, and so He is both formless and possessing forms.  We individual souls too have both aspects to our personality.  The soul is formless, and yet it has taken on a body, not once, but innumerable times, in countless past lifetimes.  If we tiny souls have the ability to possess a form, can the all-powerful God not possess a form whenever He wishes?  Even the great proponent of the path of jñānayog, Jagadguru Shankaracharya, stated:

mūrtaṁ chaivāmūrtaṁ dwe eva brahmaṇo rūpe, ityupaniṣhat tayorvā dwau

bhaktau bhagavadupadiṣhṭau, kleṣhādakleśhādwā muktisyāderatayormadhye

“The Supreme entity is both personal and impersonal.  Practitioners of the spiritual path are also of two kinds—devotees of the formless Brahman, and devotees of the personal form.  But the path of worshipping the formless is very difficult.”
