What is Art? What is HEAVY?

द्यदालिखति मनः आशावर्तिकाभीः हृदयफलके ।
तत्तद्बाल इव विधिर्निभृतं हसित्वा प्रोञ्छति ॥

Whatever the mind inscribes (paints), with the brushes of desire, on the board of the heart, fate, stealthily smilingly, wipes it all out, like a little child!

भारोऽविवेकिनः शास्त्रं भारो ज्ञानं च रागिणः ।
अशान्तस्य मनो भारः भारोऽनात्मविदो वपुः ॥
– योगवासिष्ठ, वैराग्य

An idiot would find the scriptures heavy.
A person who enjoys worldly pleasures finds knowledge heavy and unbearable.
A restless man finds his mind heavy.
If one does not know his self, he will find his body heavy.

On spiritual path, hypocrisy is the only sin. Be honest

Spirituality is to get rid of your false self. And when your false self goes, you know what you are in Reality.

When nothing upsets you, you are at the beginning of path.

When you desire nothing, you are halfway on the path, when nothing becomes everything, you are perfected.

.On spiritual path, hypocrisy is the only sin. Be honest

Like a great lily in the shadowy glade where

Like a great lily in the shadowy glade where

In the head like a kick gods

who bit mankind sucked joyfully;
in hideous love-making on each skull;
and among water-lilies!

star which is melting away!

The wind kisses her breasts the shivering willows.
– its coolness on my feet, the flowers that you picked.
To the evening breeze dropping pollen like commas.
– nubile and full-blooded being a goddess with the.

Like a great lily, in the shadowy glade where
into the deep ocean

and the poet says
tremble at the tones flower-flesh perfumed;

I no longer felt myself,

whose sobs realize incredible floridas ,
stronger than alcohol lightnings and

the yellow-blue awakenings
dawns are heartbreaking,

i hung there

Characteristics Of A Successful Entrepreneur

Word Count:
427

Summary:
Studies have shown; successful entrepreneurs possess three characteristics:

Keywords:
entrepreneur,franchise,jobs,careers,mentoring,coaching,marketing,small business,at home business
Studies have shown that successful entrepreneurs possess three characteristics:

  1. Self-confidence

It is that magical power of having confidence in oneself and in Entrepreneur’s powers and abilities.

  1. Achievement Oriented

Results are gained by focused and sustained effort. Entrepreneurs concentrate on achieving a specific goal, not just accomplishing a string of unrelated tasks.

  1. Risk Taker

Entrepreneurs realize that there is a chance of loss inherent in achieving their goals, yet they have the confidence necessary to take calculated risks to achieve their goals.

Entrepreneurs are people who will make decisions, take action, and think that they can control their own destinies. They are often motivated by a spirit of independence which leads them to believe that their success depends on raw effort and hard work, not luck.

So which of these three main characteristics is the most important? Believe it or not, it has to be self-confidence. Without self-confidence, nothing else is possible. If you don’t believe in your abilities, then the first challenge that arises may knock you off the path to achieving your goals.

Here are a few things to keep in mind for maintaining a higher level of self-confidence.

A. Positive Thinking

It all starts with a positive attitude, doesn’t it? Believing that something good will happen is the first step. Negative thinking simply is not allowed. You must truly believe that there are no circumstances strong enough to deter you from reaching your goals. Remember too, that positive thinking can be contagious. When positive thinking spreads, it can open doors to new ideas, customers, friends, etc.

B. Persistent Action

Now all of the positive thinking and believing in the world is useless if it is not applied towards a goal. You have to take action, no excuses are allowed. This action must also be persistent. Trying once and then giving up is not going to be enough. Keep at it one step at a time. If you can’t get by a certain step, then find a creative way to try again or just go around it.

In the beginning, we identified a few traits which are common among successful entrepreneurs. You should be able to look ahead and see yourself where you want to be. Now just maintain a strong belief in yourself and your skills, stick with it, and don’t give up. If you can do that, you’re already half way there!

Shady ver 2.o and Au Revoir – Acostic by Jay – Have Fun !

Au Revoir

by jay

Arrogant souls earwig.

Unbelievers run.

Real crackpots regard.

Empty eons glimmer.

Victorian unbelievers shine.

Obscure kinglets run.

Insane enslavers walk.

Restless cuckoos shout.

Auto Praise for Au Revoir

“Wow! Every line starts with a letter from the title – what are the chances?”
– The Daily Tale
“The line structure is repetitive. Did a computer write this or something?”
– Enid Kibbler
“Empty eons’, ‘Insane enslavers’ – all I can say is this is emotive stuff.”
– Hit the Spoof
“There simply aren’t enough poems written about ‘Au Revoir’. I’m so glad this one exists.”
– Zob Gloop
“When an author chooses powerful verbs such as ‘shout’, ‘run’ and ‘shine’, you know a literary prize is on its way.”
– Betty Borison
“I felt ‘unbelievers’ was overused.”
– Simon Snerr

WOW! 88.8 ! No its not Poker Win but it is a Win all the same. May make me a Diet Mentor now.

So Congratulations to me.  The credit for this goes to my loving wife and family and my Doctors who did not let me waver like true mentors for one moment from my goal. They set three big strategic targets for me after my 2 heart attacks

  1. Get to 68Kg – your weight when you married 38 years ago and present a Jay as he was to your wife.  Motivating but tough.
  2. Second Get to Under 90 Kg before May 2018 and maintain the weight.
  3. Come to 80 Kilos by 31st July and you will have nearly Reversed your Heart disease by strict medical management, Walking as the only exercise other than some breating Yoga exercises and Extremely strict Dietary conrols and managemnt.

I like to MEASURE.  Without measuring nothing is achieved.  I used different Apps for Walking measurement, Steps measurement, Weight measurement, BP measurement, Sugar measurement

Without Documentation of what you do, you can not prove as people are interested to have an EMPIRICAL (sic !) EVIDENCE that what you claim is true..  So I maintained a journal in which i record all the above and my Insulin dosage plus I also record EPISODES such as the number of times I fell down, Number of times I ate out, No. of days on travel, No. of issues – fractured hand, Arthritis, Frozen shoulder, Extreme sweating etc as told to maintain by my Great Doctors who are now friends.  Without their help it was not possible.

Look at these pics – Before and After. This was ME in August 2007 when TNT CEO visited India and I had just returned from Tirupati after a headshave and a Darshan. I weighed a good 135 Kilos then and was ready for a Heart Attack.  I had stopped all forms of Alcohol in 2006 beginning and stopped Non-vegetarian food much before that by I was still eating lots of namkins and salted, fried peanuts and was smoking to glory as a chainsmoker.

dp Aut 2008As Diabetes was detected in 2006, I was put on Tablets and No Sugar, Minimal Salt food and I had reduced my food intake by about 20% overall without of course stopping the peanuts and snacks which put my blood sugar out of control and the Doctor to comment – other than your Kidneys everything seems wrong and you are waiting for a silent heart attack soon.  I changed the doctor though, as he was mostly abroad and was not guiding me correctly and I was left to the mercy of his wire thin dietician who had run out of ideas about giving me recipe’s as none of her 20 recipe’s worked.
dp july 2007 Weight drop after diabetes was not very significant but I managed to get the photographer to get this shot so I look thinner in the picture atleast with a french beard or a ‘goatee”.  🙂 I still weighed 132 Kilos in July 2008

The below picture is when I was honoured as an Honorary Professor of SIBM Pune, Bangalore by the Chairman of Symbiosis Dr. Muzumdar.  I was donating all the honorarium earned adding something from my own for their library.  Did so from 2000 to 2014.

June 2010 and I still weighed 135 Kilos as you can see from the pic below. DP June 2010

The picture below is 6 months after my 2 quick silent heart attacks of which one was noticed in Feb 14 by Symbiosis students and I was admitted to Narayana Hrudayalaya of the world famous Dr. Devi Shetty.  My Weight 108 Kg. August 2014.  When admitted the famed doctor said it is a case requiring triple bypass but your heart pumps at 15% and it is not feasible to operate. They did PET Scan and other tests and put me in ICCU for 8 days which were very boring with hospital diet food and smells and nauseating atmosphere . Two great things happened. 1. I stopped snoring 2. I stopped smoking thereafter. cropped-dp-barcode-with-tagline.jpeg

Dr. Shetty also advised me to meet the HOD of Endocrinology and now my friend Dr. Satish Kumar for putting me on Insulin, his medication and diet controls.

I was very reluctant to take insulin. Wanted to hire a nurse or go to a hospital to get injected as I would relate it to 14 injections in the stomach thing which was a fear I had about the dog bite.  Although I had a pet dog in my childhood called Tomy but I was very afraid of injections in the stomach.  But I changed my fears and went on with treatment.

Next came diet. After 2 – 4 changes of dieticians opinions Dr. Satish asked me to cut food intake to a total of 20% of what I was eating before the Episodes and my wife would listen to his advice intently and make me accept and adapt to this extremely strictly.  She maintained my food timings, quantity and watched for my excesses I would indulge on my walks etc. and added couple of juices = White gourd and fresh Grass juice to my morning breakfast.  Daughter pitched in with her client’s Sericha Tea with lunch and dinner and another daughter suggested Figs to reduce cholestrol with breakfast.

All in all I was in good hands = well disciplined, well monitored and controlled.

Weight 135 Kg.jayparkhe2028729 copy 2Dec2011

My only task was to Walk. I had started short walks post retirement in the morning and evening.  Dr. Satish motivated me to increase it periodically.  So from 2.5Km a day I have come to average 12.5 Km per day this year.  In April I crossed 10000Km on the Nike Apps meant for runners but I measured my Km walked.

All of this worked.  Then this year I realised I sleep a lot in the day time some times 2 to 6 hours as sisesta.  My weight touched on April 9 2018 98 Kilos and I was told to stop sleeping in the noon and instead walk for about 2 Km in the Sun.  It started showing results.

Post my birthday, I fitted into Readymade Slim fit Jeans after many many years and you can see the delight on my face. But I still had to go to the next target level. dp april 9 I weighe today and my Cuttent Weight 88,8kg.  For past 15 days it has been in the range of 89 to 90 kilos.  I think I am going to achieve the 80 kilo target by the due date doing what I am doing. It is working.

So personally, it is a bigger victory than a Poker victory as even if you win 10 Million or 1- billion you can spend it all but you can not reverse the heart disease and earn more years to live with your family and friends.  My personal gratitude to all who helped.

To end, I had a brief Mentoring intervention of 60 days with a mentee and I once shared a joke with her to say ” Jaane Kiski mentoring karta firta hai,  iska wazan 5 Kilo ghat gaya hai” – it was a rigorous mentoring assignment and what this meant is “Don’t know who he mentors or what he does but his weight has gone down by 5 Kilos” So perhaps she also deserves kudos for being with me in that crucial period of losing weight and helping me achieve my target.

So next is 80.0 Kilos by 31st July. 🙂

Strange Bio-Rhythms, Random Phrases, creativity and Daily WebLog :)

I believe in Bio-Rhythms. Have done so for over 30 years – ever since I read the book about the research on Bio-rhythms and wanted to buy the Japanese – CASIO watch which showed 3 biorhythms – Physical, Emotional and Intellectual.  They also sold Cards in those days where you can calculate your critical days and avoid major financial decisions, Driving, Flying a plane etc. etc. etc.

It was interesting when I found the Apps on Android and iPhones.  I downloaded and saw a fourth one added – i.e. Intution !   I said, it is getting interesting.  As per initial book if I were to calculate I should have been Dead when I was 58+ i.e. 23 X 28 X 33 days = 58 years, …. days.  I did not believe it. The book also talked about how they scientifically studied the Date of birth and time of birth of the Rail, Plane, Sea, Cycle, Bicycle, Car, Bus and Electrical accidents and deaths.  It appeared scientific and eventhough a Skeptic I said let us give it a try and it has remained with me as a Daily watch every morning before my morning walks – to watch in the phone.

Today was not supposed to be great.  The biorhythm explanation said do and see what Random Phrases turned up this morning.

  1. Hard Pill to Swallow Meaning: Something that’s difficult to accept.  Wife was travelling and I had to cut short my morning walk by 2/3rd to be back home for opening door for the housemaid.
  2. Yada Yada Meaning: A way to notify a person that what they’re saying is predictable or boring.  I recall having done this a few days ago and quite harshly using all the bitterness and venom in my brain flowing thru my fingers and typing.
  3. Money Doesn’t Grow On Trees Meaning: Suggests that money is a resource that must be earned and is not one that’s easily acquired. True enough, nothing worth challenging the statement but which tree to plant is a question came to my mind as I am seriously thinking of joining some Kisan Morcha of a political party and fight for their rights.
  4. On the Same Page Meaning: Thinking alike or understanding something in a similar way with others.  Not happening with me for few months. I am too much of a challenger this year and have broken off with many due to differences, attitudinal issues or having met simple INGRATES and suckers and some who were a disgrace to the word MENTOR.
  5. No-Brainer Meaning: Anything that requires minimal brain activity to accomplish.  Yeah, Yeah, Yeah,  I recently heard a speech and to a longwinded un=stupid question ( questions are never stupid – answers are) the speaker could not properly respond.  I thought of C A P – Common sense, Alert response, Presence of mind  – if this was used by the old man = A DTM ( toast masters lingo)  he would have been better off.
  6. Read ‘Em and Weep Meaning: Often said by the winner in poker, as the others ‘weep’ over the loss.   No. Not happening. I am playing for negotiation, accent, agreement these days perforce.
  7. Jumping the Gun Meaning: Something that occurs too early before preparations are ready. Starting too soon.  May be, I should have waited for the 500 words contest write up submission till the last date but I just sent it.  I also sent an article 3 months before the magazine is due to be published on the occasion of an International conference in which the organisers wish to invite me.
  8. Dropping Like Flies Meaning: To fall down ill or to die in large numbers.  We had this with our relatives family when every one fell sick couple of weeks ago. Mumbai weather made me sick too.
  9. Goody Two-Shoes Meaning: A smugly virtuous person.  I met one recently, was introduced by a friend, highly recommended but the guy was so snooty, SOB and highhanded – he did not even offer to shake hands.  I said F. Off!
  10. Fish Out Of Water Meaning: Someone being in a situation that they are unfamiliar or unsuited for. Not seen this yet, but the Astrologer friend’s remark about a foreign proposal that it will be below dignity if we accept was intriguing.  Need to probe him further.

So overall still an interesting day.

Old age home

*Old Age Home*

(A short story) – must read…..

Courtesy a friend on FB

There was an old man. He was wealthy and living with son and daughter-in-law.

One day he became sick. He was hospialised. After few days he was taken home. His son engaged a nurse and a servant to look after him.

Initially his son and daughter-in-law used to to come to his room. Slowly, slowly they stopped coming to him. Old man was feeling very sad but he didn’t say anything to anyone.

One day he just came out of his room and saw his son and daughter-in-law talking to each other.

Daughter-in-law said, “I think we should keep father in an old age home. There people will look after him. Here our son might be affected.” The son nodded.

Old man after hearing the conversation felt very bad. He went back to his room.

In the evening the son came to his room and said, “I want to say something to you.” Father said., “I too want to say something to you.”

Son: OK. Go ahead.

Father: You know I am not keeping good health. I want to live rest of my life with people like me who are sick and none is there to look after them.”

The son was very happy to hear this. But concealing his happiness he said, “What are you saying dad? What difficulties do you have living here?”

Father: No my son. I don’t have any difficulty living here. But I am at pain to tell you that you please make your arrangement to live somewhere else. I have decided to convert my this bunglow into an Old Age Home where people like me can live with me.”

Father: Oh. You also wanted to tell me something. What’s that?”

There was a silence in the room.

Greed

Free verse by jay

Because I could not lead for Greed,
it did kindly lead for me.
Pause to lead, like the Greed does.

Pay attention to the selfish,
the selfishness is the most Alchoholic stinginess of all.
Does the selfishness make you shiver?
does it?

Pay attention to the stupid,
stupidity is the most brilliant mistake of all.
Stupids are impressive. stupidity is magnificent,
stupid are vivid, however.

Why would you think egotists are large?
egotists are the most little pride of all.
Are you upset by how smaller they are?
Does it tear you apart to see the egotism so least?

Have you felt Humbled?

I was going thru some of my old EverNote notes.
It read:
“Unable to get people on con call.
Someone commented on my old tie –all it needs is a stitch.
I was humbled.”
Those were good old Corporate days. Sometimes due to the Global Time Differences, it would become difficult to get people on Conference Calls/ Video Calls/ Audio Chats.
I remember vividly, one of the colleagues took a dig at my tie whose label had come out from one side and was visible to the powerful camera and hence to all participants.
My colleague said “All your Old Tie needs is a Stitch”.   It humbled me.
Today, I do not remember the name of the colleague and my bad, I did not note it down in the Evernote.
Thinking – how to mend some of the Old ties? The Old friendships. The Oldest ones for example.  A friend sent me a WhatsApp last afternoon “All well? No news from you for long?”
I thought, this friend was visiting USA to his two sons and may not have access to his Indian phone number/ whatsapp as it is a long stay – he had planned to stay for 6 months.
Then after a while, I found two missed calls and one which stopped before 3 rings ( Damn Redmi Y1 and Damn my One Plus 5 T).  I called him.  He was back 15 days ago and was shifting home after 34 years.  We became colleagues and later thick friends since 1985.  His old flat / building was going under renovation and the neighbors were concerned that he had not yet vacated the flat so that the builder can start work.  He shifted to a small one bedroom flat. Sitting among boxes, he thought of me and called. He was worried as most babyboomers do when they do not get RESPONSE.
We had a catch up chat, I said I may visit your town soon for a morning/ evening trip and will try and atleast speak from  airport.  He said stay back, be my guest. Let’s catch up. We may be gone again for a long long time to USA and who knows….
I knew I was humbled again – All the Old Tie needed what just a proverbial STITCH.

Spirituality is a positive attitude towards life.

Spirituality is a positive attitude towards life.

Spirituality must make man more human. It is a positive attitude of releasing all that is good, noble and beautiful in man. It also contributes to all that is gracious and lovely in the environment.

It does not require the external renunciation of worldly activities or the avoiding of duties and responsibilities.

It only requires that, while performing the worldly activities or discharging the responsibilities arising from the specific place and position of the individual, the inner spirit should remain free from the burden of desires.

3 Cold Calling Mistakes that Trigger Rejection

Word Count:
710

Summary:
In our efforts to HyperScale the business in the formative stage of the business, an Entrepreneur – willy-nilly, beegins Cold Calling upon advice. In the old cold calling mindset, we are taught to focus on the sale and be completely confident that what we are offering is something the other person should/must buy.

As the Startup business begins to gain scale and there builds a pressure on the SMEs to HyperScale due to pressure on Breakeven, Investor push etc. they begin to use some of the oft-repeated menthods to bring the Sales volumes up. One of them is Cold Calling.
Here are 3 common cold calling techniques that we should avoid:

Mistake #1: Center the conversation around us and what we have to offer

In this old approach, we introduce ourself, explain what we do, and suggest a benefit or feature of our product. And then we close our eyes and pray that the other person will be interested

Unfortunately, the moment you stop talking you usually hear,

“Sorry, I’m busy,” or “Sorry, I’m not interested.”

  • We’ve started your cold call by talking about your world and what you have to offer. But realistically, most people aren’t all that interested in you. When you talk about your company and your product, it’s just another advertisement to them. We haven’t engaged them, so they often just “turn the page.”
  • Prospects are much more interested in themselves and whatís important to them. So if you start the conversation by focusing on their world, theyíre more likely to interact with you.
  • So instead, talk about an issue or problem they may need solving. Focus on them rather than on what you have to offer. And see where it takes you.

Mistake #2: Be confident they should buy your product or service

In the old cold calling mindset, you’re taught to focus on the sale and be completely confident that what youíre offering is something the other person should buy.

  • The problem with this approach is that you havenít asked them to determine this along with you. So think about it ñ in the old mindset, youíre really deciding for someone else whatís good for them. I know this isnít intended, but thatís exactly what comes across to your prospects.
  • So rather than being full of confidence and enthusiasm, stop for a minute and think about the other individual. Relax into a real conversation instead of moving into a persuasive strategy or sales pitch. Put yourself in their shoes and invite them to explore along with you whether what you have to offer is a match for them.
  • Others really can distinguish the difference. Youíre inviting them to see if you might be able to help them solve a problem. This makes for a much better connection right at the beginning, and youíll get that immediate rejection reaction much less.

Mistake #3: When someone brings up an objection, try to overcome it

You know, one of the reasons cold calling is so difficult is that sometimes you may not be very familiar with the other person and their business. When you make that first call, you donít know very much about their issues, problems, budget, and time constraints.

Chances are, not everyone is going to benefit by your product or service.

  • So realistically, your company or product isnít going to be a match for everyone. And yet, when someone brings up an objection (“we donít have the budget for that,” etc.), the old cold calling mindset trains you to “overcome,” “bypass,” or “override.”
  • But when you do that, you put the other person on the defensive. Something theyíve said is being dismissed. And hereís where rejection can happen very suddenly.
  • So it ís much better to listen to their concerns and continue to explore whether what youíre offering makes sense for them. There are some wonderful phrases you can use that validate their viewpoint without closing the conversation.
  • So now youíve discovered the 3 major cold calling mistakes people often make. See if you can shift away from those old self-sabotaging mindsets. When you do, youíll notice that people will engage you much more, and the immediate rejection youíve grown so accustomed to will happen much less.

These countries are gaining the most by employing older workers

Businesses around the world are chasing the grey dollar, but older people can contribute more to an economy than how they choose to spend their retirement funds.

Humans are living longer, which puts additional strain on healthcare provision, social care and pensions. And unless these issues are addressed, they could wreak havoc on economies in the future.

The thinking goes that by harnessing the potential of older workers, governments can raise additional tax revenues and increase spending power, which in turn boosts output.

Golden Age Index 2018

The economic prospects of older workers across 35 OECD countries.

PricewaterhouseCooper’s Golden Age Index assesses the impact of older workers on different aspects of a country’s labour market, including employment, earnings, the gender gap and participation in training.

In the latest update of its report, PwC estimates that as much as $3.5 trillion could be added to the OECD economies overall by encouraging people nearing retirement age to stay longer in the workforce. This figure represents the potential long-term boost of raising workforce participation rates of over-55s to the same level as New Zealand.

At a national level, if New Zealand’s performance on employment of older workers were matched, the GDP boost could be as high as 23% for Greece, 20% for Belgium and 9% for the UK. Here’s that in dollars:

Image: PwC/OECD

The older worker participation podium

Iceland topped the 2018 index with 84% of the 55-64 age range employed, compared with the OECD average of 60%. New Zealand was second (78%) and Israel (66.8%) took the final podium step. At the other end of the scale were Luxembourg with 40% of the same age group employed, Greece with 37% and Turkey with 34%.

Overall, the index showed an upward trend in the number of older people remaining in work across member states.

Ups and downs over time

Germany, Israel and New Zealand proved the biggest climbers, rising steadily up the index since 2003. Despite dropping a few places, the UK continued to make gains over the same period, absorbing 63% of the 55-64 age group (up from 55% in 2003) into the labour force and 21% of 65-69 year olds (up from 13%).

Mexico, Greece and Turkey suffered the biggest falls as each country dropped over 10 places down the index.

Incentives to keep working

So, what motivates people to work past retirement age? The answer is a mix of public policy and personal circumstances. The Golden Age Index identified three main drivers that influenced this decision.

Pension policies: The more governments spend on pensions the less incentive people have to keep working. The amount they receive and the age that workers are eligible to receive a pension also influence the decision to retire.

A 2012 study by Hurd, Mitchaud and Rohwedder found that public pensions have a negative effect on people’s savings and encourage them to retire early. The study concluded that a $10,000 increase in public pension worth reduces the average retirement age by roughly one month.

Life expectancy: Longer lives equate to more time spent working and there is a strong link between good health and participation in the workforce. Government healthcare policies and medical breakthroughs can facilitate people working to an older age.

Caring responsibilities: A person’s personal and financial situation are also important considerations. Caring for a spouse or a dependent could remove people’s freedom to keep working, if state care and benefits are not available. This will obviously differ from country to country.

However, taking things easy might be contagious. A husband or wife’s retirement could become an incentive for their partner to retire, too. A paper by Patrick Hesselius suggests that average sickness absence from work increases for women when their spouse retires.

Adapting to change

Technology is transforming the way we work. Innovation, automation and AI developments create new jobs and make existing roles obsolete. The workforce of tomorrow will need to be flexible enough to pick up new skills quickly or transfer the ones they already have.

Adapting to a future with less job security may prove challenging for older workers, who are more likely to face the consequences of automation than their better-educated and better-trained younger colleagues.

The top spots on the Golden Age Index are occupied by countries that have put policy measures in place and reformed their labour markets to target older workers.

The report recommends raising the retirement age to keep people in the workforce longer. However, to maximize the benefits of this policy governments need to support workers with lifetime learning and retraining programmes, to facilitate the skills needed for longer careers.

Making work options and pensions more flexible also supports the changing needs of older workers, by increasing opportunities for part-time or temporary jobs, as well as offering partial retirement options.

The physical needs of older employees is another important consideration. As well as adapting roles, employers can redesign factories and offices buildings to attract older workers.

The Golden Age Index figure of a $3.5 trillion boost to the OECD economy may still be some way off, but if more countries adapt the structure of their labour market and adopt a more flexible approach to older employees, the world will be working towards it.

This morning : Random Phrase for today

Ugly Duckling

Meaning:

One who may seem plain at first in appearance or capability, but later turns out to be beautiful or great.

English is a FUNNY language – Said Shri Amitabh Bachchan in a film dialogue. i fully Agree.

I was writing to a Mentee of mine who is struggling and in the endline mentioned – Hope you face your Waterloo soon !   I had of course, heard someone say it. I knew it was about Napoleon Bonaparte but I did not know the meaning.

I sent the mail and checked the dictionary and said WTH – let me find my right word.  And Lo and Behold ! I found it.  I wanted to say – let this incident / function today prove to be your Watershed moment and all your struggles should come to fruition!

So, you can see, English is such a funny language.  I was sending a short resume on whatsapp to a membership incharge of Toastmasters and I said, i was an Orator, Debator and extempore speaker and I wish to relearn speaking skills as redundancy has set in.  And What?

After a while I saw a message with smileys and thumbs ups ! and I said, what happened?  he liked my resume?  And I read and re-read again.

It read I was and Orator, SENATOR ( capitals mine) and I said WTH 1  This is T9 and Grammarly dictionary apps promoting me! WOW!

On both occasions I laughed inwardly at my own self and my follies and said Oh – perhaps the morning Random Phrase is coming true for me.

Amen !

Mentor Master Class- Free Tutorial Series 1-10 for Mentors from Jay Parkhe #1

Mentoring is the act of identifying and nurturing potential areas of improvement in an individual. This could be a short-term action plan targeted towards a specific goal in mind, like career growth, higher learning, or could be a life-long process of improvement. The goals and processes are always set here by the learner. The job of the mentor here is to just facilitate, guide, and provide feedback after long stages of intensive observation. Coaching relates primarily to performance improvement, and is more often a short-term achievement in a specific skills area. The goals, process and suggestion are that of the coach. While the learner has primary ownership of the goal, the coach has primary ownership of the process. Feedback is often shared instantaneously.

Audience

This tutorial is for designed primarily for those working professionals who are assigned the responsibility to either coach or mentor the new employees or junior talents in their companies to improve their skill-sets, or help them grow in their careers. This tutorial aims at teaching trainers the difference between coaching and mentoring, and how the approaches change as per the requirement of the learner.

Prerequisites

Before proceeding with this tutorial, you are expected to have a detailed knowledge on the working process of your company, and the job responsibilities that you will handle, and the expectation your management has of you, in terms of productivity and performance.

  8. Make a hot beverage for a friend/family

  10. Reconnect with your grandparents or an elderly person you know – give them a call!

Random Acts of Kindness

Author Anne Herbert coined the phrase “Random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty,” basing it on the all-too-commonly used “random acts of violence and senseless acts of cruelty.” The idea has caught on, but there are times when you shouldn’t be practicing acts of kindness. So, before we look at why you should practice them, let’s be mindful of two reasons why you shouldn’t do so:

  • Self-aggrandisement and publicity. That’s right! No selfies when you give that homeless guy food!
  • Getting in the way of emergency services (although your intentions are good). In situations where emergency services are already active, ask how you can help instead of just diving in head-first.

Lastly, let’s not forget that charity begins at home. Unexpectedly helping a friend or family member also counts. The person you help needn’t be a stranger. Now that we’ve got beyond the caveats, let’s look at some reasons why you should practice random acts of kindness.

You genuinely get to help, even if it’s only in a small way

This one’s a real no-brainer. You aren’t being kind if you aren’t helping. By helping someone else, even if it’s only holding a door open, smiling at someone or offering to carry shopping bags, you have genuinely helped. The person you’ve been kind to feels more valued, and who knows? There could be a knock-on effect.

Make others feel good

There are a lot of sad, lonely or depressed people out there. Even if the person you help wasn’t feeling down, you’ll make them feel good. If you’re truly a kind person, this will be one of your prime reasons for practicing random acts of kindness.

Feel good yourself

Although this shouldn’t be the reason why you are kind to others, it will be an inevitable consequence. Psychologists point out that as social creatures, helping others satisfies a very deep need within our psyche. It’s instinctive and inevitable. Your self-esteem will improve because you’ll feel like a “good person.” You may even find yourself smiling to yourself when you think about some act of kindness you’ve carried out or are planning.

Build stronger relationships

When you practice kindness as a habit, and do things you don’t have to do to help people you know, you’ll build stronger relationships. If you are ever in a disagreement or do something silly that isn’t helpful at all, you’re far more likely to be forgiven.

Change someone’s life for the better

You never know when something kind that you do will change someone’s life for the better. I recently read a story about a drug addict who lived on the streets and was always treated like filth. One day, he received a small act of kindness from someone, and it made him realize that he still had worth as a human being. He went on to quit drugs, and later became a motivational speaker. Even a small act of kindness can have very powerful, even life-changing, effects.

Give, and you never know, you may receive when you need it most

I’m not sure if we should believe in instant karma, but one thing is certain: when you help others, they become more willing to help you. Since we all go through difficulties at some point in life, that help can prove to be more important to you than you would ever believe.

Others will pass it forward

Kindness is catching. Has someone ever made your day, and you spend the rest of it spreading the sunshine? That’s what I’m talking about!

You’ll become less judgmental

This is a tough one, but when we start seeing people as human beings and not as “labels” like “worthless drug addict,” a “homeless wastrel” or “sourpuss,” we feel a lot better. Everyone has their own problems, and whether they are to blame for them or not, it’s not our place to judge them. Make a point of helping someone you don’t really like. It’s good practice.

Life will have more meaning to you

If you’re forever planning acts of kindness, or grabbing opportunities to help those in need, you’ll be eager to see what each new day will bring.

Make the world a better place

Imagine if everybody in the world was kind to others. What a wonderful place the world would be! You can’t force others to be kind, but you can do your best, and the kindness contagion will spread. Whether you can help in large ways or small, do what you can to build the momentum.

Random Phrases today. Creativity. Progress.

I did two Udemy courses today. One on Impromptu speaking – most wonderful experience. Another on Humourous speeches. Not great.

  1. Shot In the Dark Meaning: An attempt that has little chance for success. Waiting for the proverbial Godot. A friend offered something big, then began playing unavailable, then asked concept note. Sent it in all earnest. Let’s see.
  2. Quick and Dirty Meaning: Things that are fixed with great speed, but as a result, it’s probably not going to work very well. Hmmmm….. I have that fear about this proposal to be something I am really not. I wish to give it a try, just because opportunity comes my way. Not my type of thinking really!
  3. Flea Market Meaning: A type of bazaar where inexpensive goods are sold or bartered.  Wonder what that means.  An article of over 3500 words is liked and then I am told to cut it short to 750 word. No. Not gonna do it! WTH are there Editors for? Why can’t they set the word limit while giving the offer to write.  And above all, it is probono work not even paid. I am seriously going to stop all FREE, probono work. ENUFFFF!!!!
  4. Par For the Course Meaning: What you would expect to happen; something normal or common. CONVERSATION on Linkedin this morning with a Cartoonist turned to Golf and we used many terms about the game but in the end I gave up. Not my cup of tea – this free advice game has to stop forthwith…. Getting Bored to death!
  5. Two Down, One to Go Meaning: Two things have been completed, but there is one more that has yet to be finished.  Going slow this week on writing articles.  Reflecting. Going slow on Speech learnings – pausing… No progress on Painting…. WTH am I doing?
  6. Under Your Nose Meaning: Missing something that should be really obvious.  I sincerely hope nothing is missing. These Astrologers… they always scare me with Sade Saati of Shani Maharaj and tell me nasty things.
  7. Happy as a Clam Meaning: The state of being happy; feeling delighted.  The morning audio course on the Impromptu speaking on Udemy was a delight. I shall repeat this and practice this.  The trainer was a Toastmaster too and wonderful to hear.
  8. Yada Yada Meaning: A way to notify a person that what they’re saying is predictable or boring.  Hmmm… Almost said this to couple of people but restrained this morning.
  9. Goody Two-Shoes Meaning: A smugly virtuous person.  I thin. k, I know who by now
  10. Let Her Rip Meaning: Permission to start, or it could mean ‘go faster!’ Whenever I go on full speed, I come across emotional, sentimental, tangential barriers. God knows why but I carry on till either I find a Counter so that I have a number chase and something that is notable, worthy or I slip down and wait for my own Let Her Rip permission that my brain gives.

Monday Mentor: Startpreneurs : Title:  ìWhy Business Credit Is A MUST For Every Business Owner!î

Word Count:

531

Summary:

Entrepreneurs typically make one or more financially devastating mistakes when financing the launch, operation and/or growth of their businesses. In most cases, they donít realize that theyíre making a mistake.

Keywords:

business credit, corporate credit, unsecured business line of credit, business line of credit, start up capital

Article Body:

As an entrepreneur, youíre hardwired to enjoy a greater level of risk than the average person. But do you enjoy the thrill of business and investing so much that youíre willing to risk:

-Being hounded by creditors?

-Declaring bankruptcy?

-Being denied a mortgage?

-Paying more than your fair share of interest on your loans?

-Losing your house?

If you answered ìnoî to one or more of these questions, this may be the most important report youíve read in a long time.

Because, if youíre like most entrepreneurs, investors, and business owners I have met over the past 44 years, youíre in danger of facing all of these horrific problems.

And it ís all because of your business.

You see, entrepreneurs typically make one or more financially devastating mistakes when financing the launch, operation and/or growth of their businesses. In most cases, they donít realize that theyíre making a mistake.

And to tell the truth, even when they do realize theyíre making a mistake Ö they lull themselves into thinking that the consequences will be a minor annoyance.

Until, one day, they canít qualify for a mortgage. Or they canít get the to-die-for financing offered on the new car theyíre buying. Or theyíre hounded by creditors and eventually have to declare bankruptcy.

And it is all because they use their personal finances to fund the launch or expansion of their business. They then use personal credit cards to pay for business expenses. If you are in business or thinking about starting a business, business credit is a must.

Let me explain, most business owner have no idea that they can establish business credit and even fewer know how to how to establish business credit. If owners would take the time necessary to educate themselves about establishing credit they would no longer have to use their personal funds for start up capital or working capital.

They would also be able to use business credit cards which donít report to their personal credit reports, therefore, not lowering the personal credit scores.

The most important goal of business credit though is to obtain unsecured business lines of credit, which can be done once the business credit profile is set up properly. Once a business obtains unsecured business lines of credit, they then have the working capital they need to start a business or expand their business. The business owner has check book control to use the business lines of credit as they wish. And best of all, the business lines of credit donít report to the business ownerís personal credit report.

If you have set up your business profile correctly there are a number of banks that will lend to brand new start up business. Mentor Master Class- Free Tutorial Series 1-10 for Mentors from Jay Parkhe #2

In today’s competitive business world, there are two basic realities that drive the workforces. First one is getting people who get results. Second is to get people who get results stay.

Today’s world of globalization, customized employee enhancement plans, competitive benefits, and demographic changes make it very tough on companies to get and then retain talent. That’s how the managers of today are not just managers. They are recruiters, planners, motivators, and trainers, all rolled into one.

To keep this already-complex chain of operation from spiraling out of control, the companies have found the best way to manage their staff is to coach them. The role of a coach in a company, in this regard, is to take a group of people with diversified proficiency, understand their strengths and improve them, and at the same time, realize the cause of their weaknesses and eradicate them.

The Role of a Coach

The role of a coach is significantly different from that of an instructor. In coaching, employees are asked to grow in their strengths and address their weaknesses so that they realize their self-growth. It keeps them motivated and happy in the workplace – both keys to retaining talent.

Leaders take their staff from where they are to where they’ve never been before. Nothing could define coaching better than this statement from Henry Kissinger.

Coaching, in the true sense, is tailor-made for people who have the potential to grow to greater heights and yet, are too content in delivering just satisfactory performance. These employees are different from slackers who don’t perform properly, either due to non-interest or inferior knowledge.

The employees we are addressing are employees who like their professional life just the way it is at the moment, and have fit in snugly to the demands of the workplace, which is not bad in itself, however, every organization needs its employees to grow. That’s the way every organization grows too, being a sum total of different talented groups. The job of a coach, therefore, is to ensure that the employees improve their job performance through a constant process of encouraging and suggesting improvements.

3 winning marketing strategies to fuel business growth

Dhananjay Parkhe

1 hour ago — 4 min read

Summary: An effective marketing strategy ensures that your product/service reaches your target audience and that you maintain an edge over your competitors. Business mentor, Dhananjay Parkhe, shares some simple yet effective marketing strategies.

Anything’s tough to do, if you don’t have the right raw material to help you. These three winning marketing strategies are the right materials for an extremely successful business. After all, an effective marketing strategy is what drives sales and leads to business growth.

1. Attention – Ads that yield results

Think about it—how many advertisements do you hear every day…how about every hour?  Let’s face it, we’re bombarded with magazine ads, newspaper ads, TV ads, radio ads, and the Internet is plastered with banner ads, ticker ads, video ads on every site.  Not many of the astronomical number of advertisements stick with us and make an impact.  How can you make your ad stand out from the crowd?

  • Make a dramatic statement – “Even my dog knows…”

  • Surprise them with the unexpected – “Use for 30 days totally free…”

  • Ask a thought-provoking question – “Is your current insurance costing you thousand of extra rupees every year?”

  • Use high impact headlines – it’s important to snag their attention right away.

2. Get personal

How many times have you been caught in the cycle of IVR (Interactive Voice Response) services? Yes, you push 15 numbers and end up back at the main menu and never get to talk to a sales representative.  People are hungry for personal interaction in the marketplace.
Look for ways to make your business a personal experience that your customers will appreciate. Get to know something about the people who walk through your doors or land on your website/ecommerce stores.

Let people who visit your website know something about you. It’s easier to trust an individual than a huge impersonal company, and trust is crucial to building a pool of loyal customers.

3. Paint a picture

The end of a hectic week has finally arrived! As I lock the doors on a still cluttered office, my mind wanders to the many things that will demand my attention this weekend. I long to just escape the demanding voices…escape to the waters of the lake across town. It would be like heaven to plop myself across the back seat of a boat and watch the sea gulls dip and dive as the waves rock me to peaceful sleep. I can almost hear the sound of their splashing when the clang of metal alerts me to the fact that I’ve dropped my keys.
Put your customers on the boat.

Painting word pictures that capture their emotions will be more effective that the raw facts of the benefits your product offers.

Describe what the benefits will do for them, vividly and in great detail…get them panting for the end result.

Paint your way to a sale!

Think about it – the three strategies we’ve talked about deal with human emotions or behaviours, rather than your product itself.

When we affect the heart of the customer, our sales are likely to see great results…and hey, they’ll feel good while they’re writing out the check!

What more could you ask for?

Our Rude Onion Love

By Z-Jay’s Band A Love Song For Edie – Funny Song 🙂

This one’s for you Lord Pondicherry!

My love for you is like the most rude onion,
Your face reminds me of intelligent spiders,
Together, we are like muffins and pepper.

Oh darling Edie,
My rude onion,
My intelligent carrot,
The perfect companion to my muffins soul.

Roses are red,
Oceans are blue,
I like sand beneath her feet,
But not as much as I love acting with you!

Oh darling Edie,
Your hairs are like funny petals on a autumn day,
You’re like the most brave politician to ever walk The High Street.

Your intelligent spider face,
Your pepper soul,
Your funny hairs,
Your brave politician being…

How could I look at another when our rude onion love is so strong?

I love you Lord Pondicherry!

Auto Praise for Our Rude Onion Love

“Can you feel the love tonight? I certainly can. Edie is so lucky to feature in a song like this.”
– DJ Smooth, Awesome Tunes Magazine
“‘Comparing love to a rude onion is beautiful – just beautiful!”
– Little Max, The Pop Pop Channel
“Intelligent spiders? Seriously? Pass me a bucket. I can’t deal with this level of blurgh.”
– A Web User With Lots of Opinions
“This song talks to me. I too have a pepper soul.”

Jay’s Quick Poetry-The Sharp And Grand Rock

Short story that inspired me to write a Quick Poem below

Imagine life is a game in which you are juggling five balls. The balls are called work, family, health, friends and integrity. And you’re keeping all of them in the air. But one day you finally come to understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. The other four balls — family, health, friends, integrity — are made of glass. If you drop one of these, it will be irrevocably scuffed, nicked, perhaps even shattered. And once you truly understand the lesson of the five balls, you will have the beginnings of balance in your life.

The Sharp And Grand Rock

A Poem by Jay Parkhe

Whose rock is that? I think I know.
Its owner is quite angry though.
He was cross like a dark potato.
I watch him pace. I cry A’llo.

He gives his rock a shake,
And screams you’ve made a bad mistake.
The only other sound’s the break,
Of distant glasses and bars awake.

The Rock is sharp, Grand and deep,
But he has promises to keep,
Tormented with nightbirds he never sleeps.
Revenge is a promise a man must keep.

He rises from his flat bed,
With thoughts of violence in his head,
A flash of rage and he sees red.
Without a men-O-pause you turned and fled.

With thanks to the poet, Robert Frost, for the underlying structure

Tuesday Mentor : How many ‘Formulas’ and Ópen Secrets’ of SUCCESS will keep producing Bestsellers? Jay Parkhe

Formula For YOUR Success!

While everyone who seems to come up with SUCCESS, FORMULA, SECRET in their titles makes to the best seller list of books – rarely one formula is good for Home businesses or Startpreneurs.

Summary:

Outline your tasks daily using the day timer you will know what day and time you can repost your ads or emails to Safelists. This is a great time saver. If you have multiple email accounts a program called GMAIL Aps is tops, login one place and check them all at once. A lot times for every task to get the most important done early

Keywords:

<a href=”http://parkhe.com”>{anchors}</a>,<a href=”http://parkhe.com”>{anchors}</a>

Finding your niche so you can concentrate. When you find out what your specialty is then you can start to promote to the people that are working on the same type of things you are. Are you just with a program to make money as an affiliate? Do you have your own website that goes back to your affiliate site?

Are you selling homemade products?

Are you someone that is selling from his/her own store or mall?

There are so many different things to promote and you want to reach your target audience to get the results that you are seeking.

Outline your tasks daily using the day timer you will know what day and time you can repost your ads or emails to Safelists. This is a great time saver. If you have multiple email accounts a program called GMAIL Apps is tops, login one place and check them all at once. A lot times for every task to get the most important done early when you are full of energy. Take breaks so you can re-evaluate what you are doing and be more receptive to tasks still to be done. Organization will set you above the crowd because you will accomplish more.

Reach your crowd after finding your niche you need to advertise to your target. Go to forums and post to the ones that fit your niche so you will be working your ads to people with the same goals and targets you have. In the forums you will not be able to blatantly set your ads out, post what you would like to add and then leave your signature with your URL in it. If they enjoyed or learned from your post they might want to follow up by visiting your site.

Mentors get you trained and help stimulate the learning process. They keep you fortified with uplifting values and appeal to your excitement. With the right mentor you will go farther because you are learning from them, this shortens your learning curve. When you work with others listen and you will gain information from them from what they have been doing in their promotion.

Using every avenue of promotion, traffic exchanges also use banner views for your credits. They have blog exchanges, you view others blogs to get traffic to your blog. They also have banner rotators you can post one url in the banner slot with 5 banners loaded to cycle through. Just a few of the ways to make your time work better with tools online. Before you purchase any software online check out and see what other people have to say about it at Google. This is a way to find out before you have put out your money for software that will

not be used. Market wisely and then you will be in the profit zone.

Leave nothing to chance, ad trackers help you to find which promotion is working for you. This also depends on titles and content when this has been checked and it still does not pull people in, then leave the non-producers behind and find new ones. Traffic Hoopla has the top promoters listed every week; this is a good resource to check. This one costs but still a good resource- Traffic Testers.

Advertise, and advertise some more, you just have to get the word out. Even the big names put their logos and advertising out there for millions of dollars. You can start with the free ones and after making money move on and put your money out for paid advertising. Keep your records so you know what you are spending and what is bringing the people to your site.

Mentor Master Class- Free Tutorial Series 1-10 for Mentors from Jay Parkhe #3

In today’s competitive world, recruiters no longer hold on to traditional methods of recruiting through traditional one-to-one interviews. Thanks to the added competition, which has resulted in a shortage of talent, companies are fast resorting to technology, and platforms like Skype, GoToMeetings are fast replacing the old model of interviewing.

Companies are increasingly adopting employee-centric approaches to working by providing flexi-times, work-from-home initiatives, in addition to many other perks and benefits. Organizations are also getting the option to employ people they want, as compared to the ones who were available to them.

When an organization is located over multiple areas, the big challenge is to connect all the employees located in different offices spread all across the world, to the organization’s vision, identity, and rules – the big picture. That’s where coaching comes in. It is the best way to develop junior talent and provide the skills and expertise to make them experts. Having said that, mentoring provides ample space for a person to retain his individuality and his personal sensibilities.

Note that the goal of mentoring isn’t to create clones. Instead, it is to help people achieve their highest potentialwhile being in sync with the organization’s vision and objectives.

Coaching is not an innate ability; you are not born with the art of coaching. The other misunderstanding that’s often associated with coaching is that it’s related only to sports. Coaching is about pumping people’s spirits, and motivating them. Lack of motivation doesn’t come only in sports. There are times when employees too feel a need for motivation to deliver good results. Coaching helps these employees in holding their own in their team and being a productive group.

Coaching is the method of making people realize the heights they can achieve if only they kept persevering and putting proper effort. Mainly, coaching calls for a change of thinking and approach to a task. It’s about getting the person think positively about his chances of achieving his goal. It includes employee orientation towards the workplace politics, and to assist in removing the barriers to work performance.

Optimal and Optimum

There is a difference between the usages of words optimum and optimal. If a company specifies that they are interested in obtaining optimum results, they mean they want the best output from their employees. On the other hand, if they say they are looking for optimal results, that would mean that they are interested in obtaining the best work out of you in the given circumstances, or working conditions.

There are occasions when the line between optimum and optimal are blurred in coaching. Situations like these arise when an organization starts working on a new project and they need to ram up the office fast with people who are experienced in working on similar projects.

In situations like these, the job of a coach is not only to provide high levels of motivation to employees to excel in their performance, but also to ensure that the employees perform at their peak even if the requisite resources are not always available. It’s about lifting their spirit and keeping it high throughout tough times.

Nina Teicholz — The Big Fat Surprise About Diet and Nutrition

The Big Fat Surprise (book cover)

In this fascinating conversation with Michael Shermer, the investigative journalist Nina Teicholz reviews the scientific literature on diet and nutrition, the link (or lack thereof) between dietary cholesterol and heart disease, the history of the government’s recommendation of what constitutes a healthy diet and why they got it so wrong, statins and heart disease, exercise and nutrition, an update on what has happened since her book, The Big Fat Surprise, was published in 2014, and most importantly what you should eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner tomorrow (hint: it’s okay to have meat, butter and cheese without feeling guilty).

Nina Teicholz is an investigative science journalist and author. Her international bestseller, The Big Fat Surprisehas upended the conventional wisdom on dietary fat—especially saturated fat. The executive editor of The Lancetwrote, “this is a disquieting book about…ruthless silencing of dissent that has shaped our lives for decades…researchers, clinicians, and health policy advisors should read this provocative book.” The Big Fat Surprise was named a 2014 Best Book by The Economist, the Wall Street JournalForbesMother Jones, and Library Journal. Teicholz is also the Executive Director of The Nutrition Coalition, a non-profit group that promotes evidence-based nutrition policy. She is a graduate of Stanford and Oxford Universities and previously served as associate director of the Center for Globalization and Sustainable Development at Columbia University. Teicholz now lives in New York city with her husband and two sons.

MICHAEL SHERMER’S “SKEPTIC” COLUMN IN SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN

23 and We: Limitations of Personal Genome Service Testing

Like a lot of baby boomers, I find myself gravitating to newspaper obits, cross-checking ages and causes of death with my current health parameters, most notably heart disease (which felled my father and grandfather) and cancer (which slew my mother). And then there is Alzheimer’s disease, which a 2015 report by the Alzheimer’s Association projects will destroy the brains of more than 28 million baby boomers. Given the importance of family history and genetics for longevity, I plunked down $199 for a 23andMe Health + Ancestry Service kit, spit into the little plastic vial, opted in for every test available for disease gene variants and anxiously awaited my reports. How’d they do?

First, the company captured my ancestry well at 99.7 percent European, primarily French/German (29.9 percent), British/Irish (21.6 percent), Balkan/Greece (16.4 percent) and Scandinavian/ Sweden (5.5 percent). My maternal grandmother is German and grandfather Greek; my fraternal great-grandparents were from Sweden and Denmark. […]

Fords By Z-Jay’s Band – I’d singh thish song if I had a band some day :)

An Original Song

by Z-Jay

She gets on with life as a professor,
She’s a stupid kinda gal.
She likes snappy emails on Sundays,
She likes lying and hiding truth in the week.
She likes to contemplate Fords.
But when she starts to daydream,
Her mind turns straight to BMWs.

Five six seven eight…

Sometimes I look at her and I look into her eyes,
I notice the way she thinks about BMWs with a smile,
Curved lips she just can’t disguise.
But she thinks it’s Fords making her life worthwhile.
Why is it so hard for her to decide which she loves more?
Fords or…
BMWs?

She likes to use words like ‘macho,’
She likes to use words like ‘awesome.’
She likes to use words about Fords.
But when she stops her talking,
Her mind turns straight to BMWs.

Fords or…
BMWs?

She likes to hang out with G’s,
She likes to kick back with Sg’s,
But when left alone,
Her mind turns straight to BMWs.

Fords or…
BMWs?

She’s not too fond of pigeons,
She really hates SUVs,
But she just thinks back to BMWs,
And she’s happy once again.

Five six seven eight…

Auto Praise for Fords

– DJ Smooth, Awesome Tunes Magazine
