Jay’s Tantra day: No dilemma today. Still turning to God for answers

Jay’s Tantra technique is to turn to Bible and Gita on a day when he is faced with a dilemma and seek support and answers from God.

Today, I have no dilemma still I turn to God for answers.

Random verse from Bible that came my way is :

1 Samuel 2:2

Passage:

“There is no one holy like the LORD;

there is no one besides you;

there is no Rock like our God.”

And the Gita Shloka said:

via The One Routine Common to Billionaires, Icons and World-Class Performers

Accept whatever God Gives with firm faith in His Love and Grace.

Accept whatever God gives with firm faith in His love and grace. Then you will find peace and strength.

Suffering and miseries come according to the divinely established Law of Karma, Cause and Effect and our own actions are the cause of these and no one else needs to be blamed.

Be resigned to My will and accept willingly the situation in which you are placed and I will give you inner strength to face the battle of life.

Meher baba on Indian Independence

Shireen Davenport

Meher Baba on Independence on 4 September 1931,

“Baba remarked, “If Gandhi comes to meet me, it would be very good for him and good for all concerned.”

About the Round Table Conference, Baba explained to Chanji and Rustom:

Even Gandhi will have no influence there, in spite of his presence. He should have gone at first with other representatives who, in a wavering mood, left for Multan; but at that time, Gandhi hesitated on account of certain grievances. Then he suddenly agreed to participate in the conference, though most of their grievances were not redressed.

The point is that once Gandhi refused to join in the conference on certain grounds, he ought to have refused to the end. He should not have suddenly consented to take part in it unless and until all his grievances were redressed and removed, and he should have stayed in India. But being inconsistent, he consented to attend the conference at the eleventh hour. He has lost his prestige and now he won’t succeed there. At the Round Table Conference, differences of opinion will prevail among the parties and no one will agree, and Gandhi’s influence will not make a difference. His influence will be ineffectual.

“Why?” asked Chanji.

In reply, Baba spelled out:

Gandhi’s influence has already waned. He wants to keep every party pleased and there[in] lies his weakness. How could he keep everybody pleased when they all are opposed to one another and have conflicting views, extremely opposite to each other?

In India, the many political parties and creeds all have one common aim: to attain independence. But there is not a single party among them who can come to terms with another party about details. Even the [Indian National] Congress, the party considered strongest, is affected by the foul odor of religious differences.

Its influence on others is gradually failing. With the weakening of its influence, the influence of Gandhi is also waning. Not only are the two greatest and largest parties and communities, the Muslims and the Untouchables, out of the influence of the Congress, but they also oppose and fight tooth and nail against Gandhi and the Congress.

Even among his own followers, or those who at least agree with him on the question of independence, their objectives differ. Observe how Sarojini Naidu and Pandit Malaviya act. Gandhi preaches the use of khadi [handspun cotton cloth] to all and sundry, yet Mrs. Naidu wears silks, though she is a colleague in his fight for independence. Gandhi preaches and advocates the abolition of caste and religion, particularly in abolishing Untouchability, and his lieutenant in the Congress Party, Malaviya, does not adhere to it. Malaviya takes his cook to England with him, thinking that eating meals prepared by foreigners is irreligious. There are thousands in the Congress who do not accept this dictum of Gandhi’s at all, and that is why the party is not strong; the result of which will bode ill for the future.

Gandhi also advocates celibacy, though he himself is married and has children, and recently he arranged his son’s marriage. There are so many things like these which he recommends, but does not put into practice himself. Why preach such things which he himself can’t or won’t do?

It is this trait in his character, combined with two other great defects — vanity and inconsistency — which causes Gandhi to lose his influence gradually, and leads those who once admired him to oppose him today. Shaukat Ali was once Gandhi’s closest companion and he is now his staunchest opponent. Why? Because of that great dividing factor: the religious animosity and enmity between the Hindus and Muslims. The religious fanatics on both sides have nurtured and fostered this hatred to the extent that even in Congress there are the orthodox who color every political activity and action with their religious bigotry, and it is all authorized, approved and practiced by and with Gandhi. This leads to great antagonism which is now weakening the Congress party.

What can I say about [Gandhi’s] vanity? Too much of a thing always spoils a man. To raise one to the seventh heaven and to cry out “Mahatma Gandhi ki jai” has made him vain and brought him down.

Shaukat Ali has caustically remarked, “These things have gone to his head and made him [Gandhi] mad!”

Besides, his immediate attendants put up a great show and fuss in every activity, which shows that Gandhi has a taste for it. But it is the natural outcome of too much praise and adulation. This daily exhibition in all functions, public and private, has reached the limit. It is too prominent to conceal from a shrewd observer or a sincere soul, who never likes or desires such a show. Hence, there is the dislike of him by many who, in spite of their admiration for him at one point, have left and are leaving him in [droves].

The Perfect Master of Spirituality can do anything and everything. He can preach about things which he himself does not practice, and for his spiritual purposes he can do things according to the prevailing conditions and circumstances, because he is eternally free of all things and can undo their effects. This is something an imperfect person can never do, much less one who has no “wind” [breeze] even of spirituality [such as a political leader, like Gandhi].

The reactionary effects of all these preachings, fuss, sham, show and vanity are disastrous, causing a gradual erosion of any influence Gandhi has among his admirers and followers, however great. If Gandhi’s influence goes, the rise of youth will take place, which in its activity will resemble Russian communalism. The signs are already there, as we find them assassinating people in high places and assaulting them in broad daylight.

Although Jawaharlal [Nehru] sides with Gandhi in his objective for independence, his views, creed and activities are quite different from Gandhi’s.

On the 5th, regarding Britain, Baba said:

The British government will not grant anything more than what was settled on in the last Round Table Conference. There is a change of government and, except for [Prime Minister] MacDonald, no one has any sympathy for our cause. Gandhi, too, will not gain anything more by his presence than what has already been decided to be given. His personality and influence will have no effect at all. And if Gandhi tries to give in again to avoid a conflict, the Congress will not accept it.

Baba predicted a civil war erupting in India between Hindus and Muslims. “There will be a terrible massacre and slaughter of one another,” he stated. “It will also have its reflection on Europeans.

There will be an equally strong civil war between the Indians and foreigners, particularly the Europeans and more particularly the British.”

On the 7th, Baba said:

The common cause of nationalism and the objective of achieving independence are sacrificed for want of unity between the Hindus and the Mohammedans, and they are harming their own cause by bringing religion into the matter. No one understands religion, and all this strife and squabble is born of irreligiousness.

Gandhi, who goes to England as the chosen leader of the Congress and the spokesman for India, this time will have no influence, unfortunately, owing to various reasons of conflicting ideals and party politics. Not only will his influence fail with the British people, but his influence will fall considerably even with his own people, the Indians, to the extent of failure. And with Gandhiji’s influence gone, and “communalism” coming in, civil war will follow.

This is all very sad for poor India and for Britain, too. But sadder times are still to come before the sun of the New Era of peace and prosperity dawns on the world, for such is ordained.”

Moving To The Void. Is this going to nothingness? Is this about going towards universe as your marketplace? Do you see a void that you can fill?/is there a space you can create for your businesses?/

Cause Squinting Eyes. 😂 Funny No? Squint (also known as strabismus) is a condition that arises because of an incorrect balance of the muscles that move the eye, faulty nerve signals to the eye muscles and focusing faults (usually long sight). …

Normally, the two eyes point in the same direction.

What can cause to see with squinting eyes?

Does this trigger a memory? An incident? Was it funny? How can I use this in my speech? Will audience enjoy it?

Decorating A Cake With Thorns. That’s a very Nasty and Cruel thought, ain’t it?  But no one dared say this to God who designed the Rose and many other flowers with protective shields of thorns around them, did we?  May be, this means we need to have a deterrent created for sugar craving Diabetics like me from eating any part of the Sweet sugary Cake?! I don’t know. Or may be it is just a thought of creating a protective shell around a very attractive product so that the deterrent ( thorns) do not allow it to be broken or stolen. What do you think?
———————
Living Like A Bear In Winter. – I found this phrase funny and thought provoking. The best Bear I remember is Teddy Bear who loves Honey.  The worst memory I have is of a Hairy, Toothy, Smelly Black bear in a Zoo.  It is said ( I remember from my childhood) that a Bear when he grips a man in the jungle – he does two things – 1. He encircles the man with his arms so powerfully that the ribs break and the man succumbs 2. The bear tickles like hell – so that we die laughing.  Scary stories from childhood. Don’t know how much truth they have.

t is a common misconception that bears hibernate during the winter. While bears tend to slow down during the winter, they are not true hibernators. Black bears, Grizzly bears and Brown bears do go into a deep sleep during the winter months, known as torpor. Hibernation is when animals “sleep” through the winter.

So taking cues from the above two if we do an attribute listing for a Startpreneur – what do we find:

  1. Hold your customer so tight that the Customer Intimacy grows into Customer Lifetime Value and loyalty.

  2. Like a bear – please the customer so much, pamper them so much that they laugh, feel happy to share their satisfaction with your products/ services and they also spread the word of mouth.

  3. Make your products so Honey like – sweet, habit forming, affordable, accessible, that the customers get addicted to your brand forever.

    The Hopes Of The Devil.

This one is straight out of Google Search as I did not have another choice 🙂

Such hopes are highly pleasing to the devil!

(George Lawson, “A Practical Exposition of the Book of Proverbs” 1821)

“When a wicked man dies, his hope perishes!” Proverbs 11:7

Men derive almost the whole of their happiness from the hope of some future good

Wicked men may indulge themselves in hopes of eternal happiness also. Such hopes are highly pleasing to the devil, who keeps his slaves quiet by means of them, until they are brought into the same hopeless condition with himself! Thus the lief of a wicked man is spent in vain wishes, and toils, and hopes — until death kills at once his body, his hope, and his happiness!

Does the wicked man expect Heaven? How terrible will be the punishment of his presumptuous hopes, when he shall be hurled down headlong into the depths of eternal despair!

“But the hopes of the wicked come to nothing!” Proverbs 10:28

Success and Failure

SUCCESS ~ FAILURE —-

Spiritual unfoldment takes place through experience of such opposites as pleasure and pain, success and failure, virtue and vice. Both extremes are equally necessary for the fulfillment of life although they appear to be direct opposites of each other. In fact, from a larger point of view, the opposites of experience turn out to be complementaries rather than contraries. They appear to be clashing incompatibles only for the mind that cannot transcend them.

The opposites of failure and success need each other. There can be no success unless there is failure; and it is equally true that there can be no failure unless there is success. If one has never succeeded in a particular thing, it is meaningless to style such attempts or their results as failure. In the same way, success is success only if there have been prior failures, either by that particular person or by others who tried in the same field.

Success and failure are generally measured, appreciated or suffered more in relation to what has been achieved in the same field by others, than in relation to a target which has been hit or missed. If it is usual for any person to do a particular thing, the doing of it is not to be regarded as a success, although it is success in the sense that what was planned has been achieved.

In every worldly sphere there is bad, worse and worst, as well as good, better and best. There is a conscious or unconscious racing with each other, as well as a perception of that which is beyond all racing. It is out of this racing that success or failure arises.

Elimination of the Ego

ELIMINATION OF THE EGO ~~~

Baba’s ways of eliminating the ego were both skillful and
subtle, but they did rapidly cut down both prejudice and
pride. To quote Baba,

“The spiritual benefit accruing to an aspirant on the path
approaching a Spiritual Master is in direct proportion to
the weakening or elimination of the ego.”

And so Baba might frequently ask you to do just those things
which your nature revolted against, but never gave you the
reason why. At first, we were rarely given occupations which
we had done before joining the ashram but rather chores that we would have avoided doing in the outside world, or which we disliked intensely.

Said one who set to work in the kitchen, “I did not come to
peel potatoes — I can do this at home. I came to be with
Baba!” Did we think we had come to sit with Baba all day, to
meditate, discuss spiritual subjects, read philosophical
books, escape the problems and monotony of daily life? If such was our vision, Baba through His own example showed us that this was not His way of life.

“All work is My work,” He said. Baba was so intensely
practical and I feel it was a help to Baba if those around Him
were practical too.

Master’s prayer

THE MASTER’S PRAYER—-

This prayer was dictated by Baba during the 21 days of His special work, 13th August – 2nd September 1953.

It was recited in Baba’s presence every day by one of the mandali. The Gujarati translation of the Prayer was also read out by another of the mandali.

O Parvardigar, the Preserver and Protector of All,

You are without Beginning, and without End,

Non-dual, beyond Comparison and none can measure You.

You are without colour, without expression, without form and without attributes.

You are unlimited and unfathomable, beyond imagination and conception; eternal and imperishable.

You are indivisible and none can see You, but with eyes Divine.

You always were, You always are, and You always will be.

You are everywhere, You are in everything and You are also beyond everywhere and beyond everything.

You are in the firmament and in the depths, You are manifest and unmanifest, on all planes and beyond all planes.

You are in the three worlds, and also beyond the three worlds.

You are imperceptible and independent.

You are the Creator, the Lord of Lords, the Knower of all minds and hearts. You are Omnipotent and Omnipresent.

You are Knowledge Infinite, Power Infinite and Bliss Infinite.

You are the Ocean of Knowledge, All-Knowing, Infinitely-Knowing; the Knower of the past, the present and the future, and You are Knowledge itself.

You are All-merciful and eternally benevolent.

You are the Soul of souls, the One with infinite attributes.

You are the Trinity of Truth, Knowledge and Bliss.

You are the Source of Truth, the Ocean of Love.

I liked this parable : Mathew 13

The Parable of the Sower (sometimes called the Parable of the Soils) is a parable of Jesusfound in the three Synoptic Gospels in Matthew 13:1-23, Mark 4:1-20, and Luke 8:4-15.

In the story, a sower sows seed and does so indiscriminately. Some seed falls on the path (wayside) with no soil, some on rocky ground with little soil, and some on soil which contained thorns. In these cases the seed is taken away or fails to produce a crop, but when it falls on good soil it grows, yielding thirty, sixty, or a hundredfold.

Jesus then (only in the presence of his disciples) explains that the seed represents the Gospel (the sower being anyone who proclaims it), and the various soils represent people’s responses to it (the first three representing rejection while the last represents acceptance.

I’m a gardener Mentor. I try and die the seeds to make Dreams grow into ambitions, translating into Vision, mission, goals, objectives, action plans, biz, marketing plans etal.

In my efforts, sometimes I come across very distressed mentees. I have to work on making the soil good as they have rocky soil of past bad experiences, thorny soil which does not allow seeds to germinate, or find soil. I spend 5, 13, 26, 52 weeks depending upon the STATE, and SITUATION.

I Sometimes come across Sand, silt or clay land or simply rocky land. Rarely I find delta land ( usualy in C Suite execs) which is fertile . Each gets a different mentor treatment.

It works. There are failures too. As the mentorees stop responding and throw seeds on footpath – it is eaten by birds and pigeons.

In one case, after sowing 150 revenue ideas and rigorously, tilling the land I found failure. I decided to move on. As the farmer/ mentoree just did not understand and allowed my gardening efforts fail.

Sad but true! It happens.

Gardener then moves on too…

Billionaire Richard Branson has some simple advice for those who want to succeed | Ladders

There’s a secret to Bransons’ success, and it’s very simple
He has one piece of advice for anyone still at the beginning of their careers: don’t give up. On Virgin’s website, he said:

“There have been so many times in my career where my ideas were overlooked. Friends, family members, people I looked up to, and the banks – not everyone always saw the potential I saw. But that didn’t deter me. Just because others don’t believe in your ideas from the get-go doesn’t mean that they are worthless. In my case, it drove me to want to succeed even more.”

He believes there’s always a second chance in life, for everything — and that if you give up, you never know what you would have achieved in the end.

“Imagine where J.K. Rowling would be if she didn’t keep persevering when others didn’t recognise the greatness of her books,” he said. “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was rejected 12 times and she was told not to quit her day job! Thomas Edison failed thousands of times to invent the lightbulb — if he’d given up, we’d all be in the dark. ”

Jay’s Quick Poetry-The Sharp And Grand Rock

Short story that inspired me to write a Quick Poem below

Imagine life is a game in which you are juggling five balls. The balls are called work, family, health, friends and integrity. And you’re keeping all of them in the air. But one day you finally come to understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. The other four balls — family, health, friends, integrity — are made of glass. If you drop one of these, it will be irrevocably scuffed, nicked, perhaps even shattered. And once you truly understand the lesson of the five balls, you will have the beginnings of balance in your life.

The Sharp And Grand Rock

A Poem by Jay Parkhe

Whose rock is that? I think I know.
Its owner is quite angry though.
He was cross like a dark potato.
I watch him pace. I cry A’llo.

He gives his rock a shake,
And screams you’ve made a bad mistake.
The only other sound’s the break,
Of distant glasses and bars awake.

The Rock is sharp, Grand and deep,
But he has promises to keep,
Tormented with nightbirds he never sleeps.
Revenge is a promise a man must keep.

He rises from his flat bed,
With thoughts of violence in his head,
A flash of rage and he sees red.
Without a men-O-pause you turned and fled.

With thanks to the poet, Robert Frost, for the underlying structure

I saw the ardor kinship of my generation destroyed,
How I mourned sympathy.
Do sympathy make you shiver?
do they?

The quality that’s really transcendent,
Above all others is the goodness.
Now unknowable is just the thing,
To get me wondering if the goodness is unknown.

ardor are not fatless!
ardor are exceptionally rounded.
Down, down, down into the darkness of the ardor,
Gently they go – the potbellied, the rounded, the double-chinned.

”God thirsts for honest love.”Meher Baba

”God thirsts for honest love.”Meher Baba

Can we love God this way?Ask Baba in a pure and sincere way for the miracle of unconditional Love. And the Beloved will make it come true.

Goes:

”Don’t worry; all this is illusion. You should love me and be honest and faithful. You must be so honest in your love that even God should bow down to you for it. God thirsts for honest love. There must not be the slightest tinge of hypocrisy. Ages have made the mind so dirty that it is quite hard for it to be pure and honest. It is the mind’s nature to doubt, to reason, to be happy, to be sick, to be sore and so forth. Had it not been its nature, there would have been no need for births after births. Imagination has created all this, and the world is so ensnared in it, it is as if bogged down in mire. And extrication from the morass becomes impossible. There is only one remedy for it: honest love for God and help from a Master.” Meher Baba

The Sarcastic And Thundery Best Friend

Whose best friend is that? I think I know.
Its owner is quite angry though.
She was cross like a dark potato.
I watch her pace. I cry hello.

And screams I’ve made a bad mistake.
The only other sound’s the break,
Of distant waves and birds awake.

The best friend is sarcastic, thundery and deep,
But she has promises to keep,
Tormented with nightmares she never sleeps.
Revenge is a promise a girl should keep.

Love and Happiness.

If you want to be certain about the object of love before giving your love, it is only a form of calculating selfishness.

Love in which there is no sense of restraint cannot be born of a conviction which is based upon things accessible to the mind

Love and happiness are the only important things in life, and they are both absent in the dry and factual knowledge which is accessible to the intellect.

I find generating random phrases every day as a good creative mind exercise.

I am a lateral thinker, I adapted Dr. Edward DeBono and his teachings early.

My Best Coach and Mentor I respect most is Dr. Marshall Goldsmith who taught me to be HUMAN FIRST.  Take final calls if the relationships are not working by forgiving each other.

The randomness of these phrases adds value and sometimes impacts my thoughts for the day.  I sometimes add few points on how the impact there was or should likely to be depending upon the time I post these on my Blog

Have a Great morning

  1. Jaws of Death

Meaning: Being in a dangerous or very deadly situation.

Hmmm… These days the fingers on the Keyboard do more damage than our tongues which are rarely used in the virtual era.

  2. Down For The Count

Meaning: Someone or something that looks to be defeated, or nearly so.

Well, at this moment I feel like the one defeated.  But there are some lights at the end of the tunnel, there are few sparks and things usually average out for me.

  3. Right Out of the Gate

Meaning: Right from the beginning; to do something from the start.

Hmm… let me think about this. yesterday I shared a lesson about Mystery as the opening.

  4. On the Same Page

Meaning: Thinking alike or understanding something in a similar way with others. This can always be a game changer in case of differences and disagreements. It works all the time.

  5. Swinging For the Fences

    Meaning: Giving something your all.

Yes. I am giving it my all. Every effort I do for future today, I believe I am Swinging for the fences.

Whenever I write Hmmm… EITHER I am undecided, or I am intuitive, Or I have already formed a judgement and still willing to give it a second thought, alternative options – “What else could it mean” chance.  In short, even in a fully stretched Elastic situation – this means I am still FLEXIBLE, I am Receptive to new idea, thought, solutions.

I also write another blog post picking up Random Sentences. 3 to 5 of them and look at them creatively to actually plan some of the days actions – not using the same words but twisting words, looking at their attributes and applying to problems I foresee in the day.

Sometimes, I am sitting on the horns of a dilemma. I turn to Gita and Bible and pick up a Shloka and a Verse to find solution to my problem.

As day advances, I share the best newsletter or quote I have seen on the day. I also then move on to writing a Poem, a Couplet, A haiku or some times all of them.  This is my blog posting.

Then I check the Blog page of every blogger who has liked my post or some of them who have not visited my blog or not given a like or comment on my posts and read their blogs and add like or comment.

That’s pretty much about my last 2 months’s blogging process.

When in Dilemma – I turn to Srimad Bhagavad Gita and a Bible presented to me by a friend and look up a Random Sloka or a Verse and I feel Peace.

Srimad Bhagavad Gita

Sloka selected for the day (random choice)
Chapter 10 Sloka 18

Psalms 94:15

Passage:

Judgment will again be founded on righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it.

Hope is not a Strategy, These Random Phrases do come true for me sometimes.

  1. Close But No Cigar
Meaning: Coming close to a successful outcome only to fall short at the end. Will make sure, this does not happen today.
  2. No Ifs, Ands, or Buts
Meaning: Finishing a task without making any excuses. Yess. FINISHIATIVE.
  3. Burst Your Bubble
Meaning: To ruin someone’s happy moment. NO. Don’t want to do that.
  4. Don’t Count Your Chickens Before They Hatch
Meaning: Do not rely on something you are not sure of. Sane advice. So many plans put in motion, so many processes and work in progress that my elder cousin warned me not to take too much on my plate.  Sane advice. I am still far away from my 9 kilo weight reduction goal for this month.
  5. Cry Wolf
Meaning: Someone that calls for help when it is not needed. Someone who is lying.  Yes. It happens again and again and again with me and I always fall prey. God give me a Midas touch – Nay! Give a truly healing touch I PRAY to you.

What will the day be like – Random Phrases predict :)

I like to generate these random phrases and compare their attributions at the End of the day and usually they come correct.

Let’s see what’s in store for me today.

  1. Go For Broke
Meaning: To risk it all, even if it means losing everything. To go all out.   If the message is about achieving 10000 likes in 58 days and thanking the BFFFs with deep sense of gratitude. I am all for it.
  2. In a Pickle
Meaning: Being in a difficult predicament; a mess; an undesirable situation.  Yes. it is true and getting out is messy. Staying in is messier.  Feels like a Camel whose owner wants to make him piss inside the tent but keep his Head out so that owner’s privacy is protected 🙂
  3. Up In Arms
Meaning: Angry; being roused to the point that you are ready to fight. Hmmm.. there is no fight left in me any more. I would rather honorably and peacefully walk aaway from UNCERTAINTY and SITUATIONS that bother me.

Meaning: Asking someone to be quiet or to shut up. No. That’s not Me. I would rather talk it over to a conclusion.
  5. Give a Man a Fish
Meaning: It’s better to teach a person how to do something than to do that something for them. Yes. fully agree. Handholding by the mentor can not become Mentor’s tasks – A mentor needs to find a way to Wean to Win so the Mentees WTW Win The World.

Jay’s Tantra 7 – For a Bad, Bad, Sad, Sad Day and the day just shines Bright!

I use this small hack I call as Tantra whenever I have a Bad BAd or Sad SAD day.

Someone once gifted me a Bible, and I have a childhood ShrimadbhagwatGita.

I open a page to read a Verse or a Shloka.

Yesterday, was one such day.  I went to my daily morning walks and stopped for taking some change at the Tea Shop.  The devout guy was lighting Agarbatti/ Incense to Lord Ganpati, Goddess Saraswati and Goddess Lakshmi.  I said, Good Omen ( Yes, even a Skeptic on a bad bad sad sad day can become believer ! ).

I read the following

2 Kings 2:18Passage: When they returned to Elisha, who was staying in Jericho, he said to them, “Didn’t I tell you not to go?”

And from Gita came

dhyaayato vishayaanh pumsah sangasteshhupajaayate |
sangaath samjaayate kaamah kaamaath krodho abhijaayate ||

A Shloka – my father taught me at the Age 7.

When a person dwells longingly on sense objects, an inclination towards them is generated.
This inclination develops into desire and desire gives rise to anger.

I got my messages – Strong and Clear. By evening I had put them to use and had Peace of mind and a good night’s sleep. Everything became alright.

Wanna try – Please do. It works for me every time.

Random sentences – EOD (end of day) fun

I like these randomly generated sentences. See what I  fond today. They are great creativity exercise. Words in Bold are my thoughts. 🙂

  1. The shooter says goodbye to his love.
Well, Almost. The key word missing was trigger and I found the right trigger to do the Right things and took back my Good bye:)
  2. She works two jobs to make ends meet; at least, that was her reason for not having time to join us.

The between the lines word reader, Mean Meaning Making mind of mine found something. Guess what?  Ignore, Neglect to Kill ! 🙂 Happened to you any time? Well, it does happen to me all the time . 🙂

  3. What was the person thinking when they discovered cow’s milk was fine for human consumption… and why did they do it in the first place!?

I found this sentence very interesting.  Did you?  Provokes thoughts, No? I am called a Provocative Coach, who challenges coachees, mentees all the time with such and other questions 🙂 🙂

To end, I know many in India consider it a Bad Omen if a Cat – especially a black cat crosses the road.  This morning coming back from my walk, I noticed a Golden yellow colored cute cat, waiting to cross the road,  I stopped in my tracks, the Skeptic in me said,  “Move on, you are a skeptic, don’t have these thoughts, there is no such thing as BAD OMEN!  ”

AND,…. What happened was hilarious…..

…………………..

…………………… The Cute Golden Yellow color Cat

Simply nodded at me – as if saying – you cross first – I don’t believe in Bad Omens either 🙂

I crossed the road and saw the cat also coolly crossing the road. 🙂

Change with the Time – Great WhatsApp forward from a friend.

In 1998, Kodak employed 1,70,000 employees and sold 85% of the world’s photo papers. Within the last few years, digital photography made them out of the market. Kodak went bankrupt and all his staff came on the road. .

HMT (clock)
BAJAJ (scooter)
DYANORA (TV)
MURPHY (radio)
NOKIA (Mobile)
RAJDOOT (bike)
AMBASSADOR (car)

Friends,
There was no shortage of quality at all, yet they were out of the market !!
reason???
They have not changed over time. !!

You have an idea that in the coming 10 years, the world will change completely and 70 to 90% of the people running today will be closed.

Welcome to the 4th Industrial Revolution …

Uber is just a software. He does not have a single car of his own, despite this he is the world’s largest taxi company.

Airbnb is the world’s largest hotel company, while they do not have a single hotel of their own.

There are many examples like paytm, ola cabs, oyo rooms.

There is no work left for young lawyers in the US now because the software named IBM Watson gives better legal advice throughout the moment. In the next 10 years, 90% of Americans will become unemployed … who will save 10% … they will be Super Specialists.

The software named Watson is diagnosed with 4x Accuracy of Cancer compared to humans. By 2030 the computer will be more intelligent than humans.

By 2018, Driverless cars will land on the roads. By 2020, this single invention will start to change the whole world.

90% cars will disappear from the streets of the world in the next 10 years … Those who will survive will either have electric cars or hybrid … roads will be empty, consumption of petrol will decrease by 90%, all Arab countries will become bankrupt .

You will request a car from a software like Uber and in a few moments, a driverless car will be parked at your door … if you share it with someone, that ride will be cheaper than your bike.

Due to being a driverless of cars, 99% of accidents will stop. This will stop the business of Car Insurance.

No employment like a driver will survive on earth. When 90% cars will disappear from cities and roads, problems like Traffic and Parking will end automatically … because a car will be equal to 20 cars today.

From today 5 or 10 years ago, there was no such place where there is no PCO. When the mobile phone arrived, the PCOs had to shut down. The PCO people started selling the mobile phones. Now the recharge is also going online.

Have you ever noticed ..?

Today, every third store in the market is a mobile phone store which does
sale, service and maintenance of phones and it’s accessories..

Almost all payments are done by Paytm today ..
People have started booking railway tickets with their phones. The transaction of money is also changing. Currency Note was replaced by Plastic Money and now it’s
Digital…

Hence…
Every Person should continue to make changes in his business or his / her way of working and should also change his / her nature over time for Good.

“Keep Updating / Upgrading Your Skills and Knowledge with Time”

The world is changing very fast ..
Keep Your eyes and ears open or else you will lose …

Be prepared to change with time.

Run with time and
Be Successful.🙏🌹🙏

The Teacher and the Woman Rhyming Couplet Ideas by jay

See the eating of the teacher,
I think he’s angry at the imaginary creature.

He finds it hard to see the tissue,
Overshadowed by the heavy gnu.

Who is that flying near the rat?
I think she’d like to eat the doormat.

She is but an intelligent woman,
Admired as she sits upon a noblewoman.

Her gentle car is just a turtle,
It needs no gas, it runs on pirtle.

She’s not alone she brings a sheep,
a pet pig, and lots of weep.

The Bright And Funny Rock A Poem by Jay

Whose rock is that? I think I know.
Its owner is quite happy though.
Full of joy like a vivid rainbow,
I watch him laugh. I cry hello.

He gives his rock a shake,
And laughs until her belly aches.
The only other sound’s the break,
Of distant waves and birds awake.

The rock is bright, funny and deep,
But he has promises to keep,

After cake and lots of sleep.

Sweet dreams come to him cheap.

He rises from his gentle bed,
With thoughts of kittens in his head,
He eats his jam with lots of bread.
Ready for the day ahead.

With thanks to the poet, Robert Frost, for the underlying structure.

Two Spiteful Uncles Chatting to the Beat A Short Story by jay ( Auto generated and edited :) )

Teelo Teelo was thinking about Heart Break again. Heart was a cold-blooded juggler with pursed lips and Teelo Teelo had self cause hurt to his fingers.

Teelo walked over to the window and reflected on his Odorless surroundings. He had always loved The Dark Skies with its filthy, fried Universe, Full of Stars, Self Illuminated and those shining with reflected Glory. It was a place that encouraged his tendency to feel concerned.

Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the a cold-blooded figure of Heart Break.

Teelo gulped. He glanced at his own reflection. She was a snotty, scheming, beer drinker with skinny body and slimy, sweaty palms. His friends saw her as a testy, tough teacher. Once, she had even rescued an ashamed old man from a road accident.

But not even a snotty person who had once rescued an ashamed old man from a road adccident, was prepared for what Heart had in store today.

The clouds danced like gyrating pigeons, making Teelo sparkly. Teelo grabbed a crumpled guillotine that had been strewn nearby; he massaged it with his fingers.

As Teelo stepped outside and Heart came closer, he could see the vague glint in her eye.

Heart glared with all the wrath of 4432 clumsy squidgy snakes. She said, in hushed tones, “I hate you but I want xoxo.”

Teelo looked back, even more sparkly and still fingering the crumpled guillotine. “Heart,  I bid you adiós, adieu, addio, adeus. … aloha. … arrivederci. … ciao. … auf Wiedersehen. … au revoir. … bon voyage. … sayonara,” he replied.

They looked at each other with calm feelings, like two flabby, flipping frogs thinking at a very arrogant disco, which had trance music playing in the background and two spiteful uncles chatting to the beat.

Teelo studied Heart’s sticky lips and hurt fingers. Eventually, he took a deep breath. “I’m sorry,” began Teelo in apologetic tones, “but I don’t feel the same way, and I never will. I just don’t hate you Heart.”

Heart looked lonely, her emotions raw like a kooky, kaleidoscopic knife.

Teelo could actually hear Heart’s emotions shatter into 4863 pieces. Then the cold-blooded juggler hurried away into the distance.

Not even a drink of beer would calm Teelo’s nerves tonight.

THE END

The Politician and the Mayor Rhyming Couplet Ideas by Jay

See the crawling of the politician,
I think he’s angry at the ammunition.

He finds it hard to see the bee,
Overshadowed by the big ski.

Who is that hopping near the cetacean?
I think she’d like to eat the implementation.

She is but a terrific mayor,
Admired as she sits upon a chess player.

Her content car is just a zombie,
It needs no gas, it runs on combi.

She’s not alone she brings a friend,
a pet spider, and lots of equalizing dividend.

The spider likes to chase a turtle,
Especially one that’s in the ertle.

The politician shudders at the glorious biscuit
He want to leave but she wants the brisket.

Even Sinners and Saints can become Better and still better.

The sinner need not have the stigma of eternal degradation and the saint need not have pride in his moral attainments.

No one, however saintly he may be, has attained the heights of moral virtues except after a life of moral failings, and no one is so bad as to be unable to improve and become good.

Everyone, no matter how depraved, can gradually become better and better until he becomes the best example for all mankind.

There is always hope for everyone; none is utterly lost and none need despair. It remains true, however, that the way to divinity lies through the renunciation of evil in favour of the good.

Top 10 Ridiculous Laws That Are Still Enforced Across The World

OLIVER TAYLOR

The Internet is already awash with lists about ridiculous, strange, and weird laws from across the world. What many of these lists will not tell you is that most of these laws are no longer enforced today. And where’s the fun if you can’t get arrested for frowning in Milan or just naming your pig “Napoleon” in France?[1]

Here, we have a list of ten ridiculous laws from across the world that are still in effect today. These aren’t obscure rules jotted down on some parchment next to provisions for catapulting convicts; they’ve caused legal trouble for people in this century. Enjoy!

10Mowing The Lawn On Sunday
Germany

Germany has over 82 million people, which is about a quarter of the population of the United States. Yet it is just 3.7 percent the size of the US. This means that Germany has lots of people crammed in very limited space. One of the consequences of having too many people in a small space is noise. Lots of noise.

To counteract this, Germany introduced Ruhezeit. Ruhezeit (meaning Rest Time) determines certain times of the day when people are expected to not make noise. The time varies from state to state but is generally from 8:00–10:00 PM until 6:00 AM the next day. Some states also observe Ruhezeit between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM every afternoon. However, all states observe Ruhezeit during the whole of Sundays and public holidays.

Noise is strictly forbidden during Ruhezeit. No one is allowed to mow their lawns, rev their cars, play loud music, or even use the washing machine if they live in an apartment.[2] Ruhezeit has led to some very interesting legal issues. When one neighbor complained that the frogs in his neighbor’s pond disturbed him at night, the court decided that frogs are a part of nature and that the disturbed neighbor should get earplugs. When another complained that his neighbor’s dog barked too much, the court ruled that the dog should bark for no more than 30 minutes a day.

9Connecting To Someone Else’s Wi-Fi Without Permission
Singapore

In Singapore, connecting to someone else’s Wi-Fi hot spot without permission could bag you three years’ imprisonment and a fine of 10,000 Singapore dollars. The law is part of Singapore’s Computer Misuse and Cybersecurity Act, which considers such behavior as hacking.[3]

In 2006, 17-year-old teenager Garyl Tan Jia Luo became the first person to be arrested and prosecuted for using someone else’s Wi-Fi without permission. He was not sent to prison because he was underage. Instead, he got 18 months’ probation, part of which he was to spend at home. He was banned from using the Internet while the probation lasted. The judge stated the ban was necessary because Garyl was also addicted to the Internet and online gaming.

8Sharing Your Netflix Password
Tennessee, US

Tennessee has a law forbidding residents from sharing their Netflix passwords with anyone. The law does not apply only to Netflix but to every entertainment site that requires subscription. The law is somewhat ironic, since Netflix allows users to share their passwords with up to four people.

The law is not a new one. It is actually an update of an already existing law to prevent cable TV subscription theft. Unsurprisingly, the update was backed by the Recording Industry Association of America, which was concerned with people illegally sharing music.

While the law is targeted at hackers who sell Netflix login details and subscribers who send their logins to too many people, legislators agree that innocent users can be arrested for breaking the law. Offenders who used up $500 worth of the service could be slammed with a $2,500 fine and a year of imprisonment, while offenders who go above $500 will get more serious penalties.[4]

7Getting Drunk In A Bar
Alaska, US

If there is one place people are most likely to get drunk, it is a bar. So it is somewhat ironic that Alaska passed a law banning people from getting drunk in bars. The law was introduced after the state government realized drunks committed the majority of crimes in Alaska.

Alaskan cops took to enforcing the law in 2012. Plainclothes police officers visited random bars to find drunk patrons. Once they suspected someone was drunk, they called other cops to make the arrest. Bartenders weren’t spared, either, since they could also be arrested for selling alcohol to a drunk person. Since there is no way of certifying that someone was drunk, cops only arrested people who were vomiting, falling off stools, or just plain constituting a nuisance.[5]

6Chewing Gum
Singapore

Chewing gum has been banned in Singapore since 1992. The ban was part of the policies introduced by Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew to turn Singapore into a first world country. The law was passed because people were fond of sticking their chewed gum on pavement and train doors. This often created problems, especially on the train doors.

During an interview with Lee in 2000, Peter Day of the BBC mentioned that chewing gum could promote creative thinking. Lee stated that chewing gum was nothing short of an act of mischief. He added that anyone who felt he could not think or be creative without chewing could just chew a banana.

Singapore relaxed the ban in 2004, when the government permitted pharmacists and dentists to sell medical chewing gum. This means chewing gum lovers need a medical prescription to buy gum. However, tourists are allowed to bring limited amounts of chewing gum into the country for personal use.[6]

5Compulsory HIV Tests For Suspected HIV Carriers
Greece

In 2012, the government of Greece introduced Public Health Decree 39A, a controversial law that permits the police to arrest people on suspicion of being HIV-positive and test them against their will. Anyone found positive will have their pictures and personal details published in the newspapers. They can also lose their jobs and be evicted from their homes without warning.

The law was passed in 2012, after Greece witnessed a spike in new HIV infections. Between 2011 and 2012, it experienced a 200-percent increase in new HIV cases. The spike was believed to be the result of massive unemployment, drug abuse, and a cut in the budget for HIV prevention programs. However, the government preferred chasing shadows instead of solving the problem from the root.

In 2012, police rounded up hundreds of women and tested them. Seventeen tested positive. The government published their details and pictures in the papers and on the Internet. The government added that they were prostitutes, even though there was no evidence to prove such. Even if there was, it was unethical.[7]

4Publicly Playing The National Anthem Twice A Day
Thailand

At 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM every day, radio stations, TV stations, and loudspeakers all over Thailand start playing the Thai National Anthem. Everyone is expected to stand at attention at that moment. People sitting will rise, people walking will stop, and everything will come to a standstill until the anthem is over. In some places, people can still be arrested for not stopping what they’re doing while the anthem plays.[8]The public playing of the Thai anthem is part of several laws introduced by Prime Minister Plaek Phibunsongkhram (who is known as Phibun) in 1932. Phibun ordered that the National Anthem be played at 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM every day and that everyone stand at attention until it was over. Phibun also demanded that all Thais know the anthem by heart, eat with spoons and forks, wear shoes, and dress in Western fashion. They were also expected to eat a maximum of four times a day.

In 2007, some retired army generals proposed that the law requiring that everyone stand still while the anthem was being played be amended to include cars. That way, cars would also come to a standstill until the anthem was over. The National Legislative Assembly stated that the proposed amendment could cause confusion and set up a panel to look into it.

3Insulting The Monarchy
Thailand

The lese majeste law of Thailand forbids anyone from insulting the Thai royal family. The law is very controversial in Thailand, where it has been used to hunt political opponents. However, it becomes more controversial the moment we realize the king’s dog is considered a part of the royal family, and anyone who insults the dog can be punished under the law.

In 2015, a Thai man stood before a closed court and faced up to 37 years’ imprisonment for making satirical comments about the king’s dog. The dog in question was a mongrel called Thong Daeng (Copper). It was the favorite of the late King Bhumipol Adulyadej. King Bhumipol loved Copper so much that he wrote a book about the animal. The book was later made into an animated film that became the second highest box office earner in its year of release.

The accused, Thanakorn Siripaiboon, supposedly made some Facebook posts where he mocked Copper, King Bhumipol, and an ongoing military corruption case. No one knows what Thanakorn posted about Copper, since repeating it would be an act of repeating the crime. Thailand’s censorship laws also meant that newspapers could not print whatever Thanakorn supposedly posted, either. The international edition of The New York Times sold in Thailand left the space that was supposed to contain the supposed insult blank.[9]

2Marrying Someone Your Parents Don’t Like
France

In November 2010, Frenchman Stephane Sage was hours away from tying the knot with his Hong Kong girlfriend, Man Sin Ma (also called Mandy), when his parents ruled against the marriage. Sage’s parents were able to cancel the wedding because of an old French law passed in 1803 that allowed parents and grandparents to overrule the wedding of their children and grandchildren.

Originally, Sage’s parents claimed they opposed the marriage because Mandy was only marrying their son to gain French nationality. In court, they claimed Mandy was a Chinese spy. The court determined that Sage could marry Mandy, since his parents had no tangible reason for opposing the marriage.[10]

1Being In Possession Of A Permanent Marker While On Private Property
Oklahoma City, US

In December 2010, an unnamed 13-year-old student at Roosevelt Middle School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was placed under citizen’s arrest by one of his teachers, Ms. Delynn Woodside, because he wrote on a paper with a permanent marker, and it bled onto his desk. Ms. Woodside claimed that the unnamed boy had also written on his desk with the marker.

An officer of the Oklahoma City Police Department took the boy to a juvenile detention center. A spokesperson for Roosevelt Middle School stated that the district will investigate the incident after school had resumed from winter break. The boy’s arrest had nothing to do with the fact that he wrote on his desk with a marker. The problem was the marker.

Ordinance 35-202 of Oklahoma city makes it illegal for anyone to be in possession of spray paint or permanent marker on private property without prior permission. The law was passed to prevent graffiti artists from making graffiti on private property, but it seems overboard that a 13-year-old can be arrested over it.[11]

We could not find more information about the decision reached by the school district, but we suppose it was favorable to the boy. Otherwise, we would have been treated to a ridiculous legal battle over whether a public school qualified as private property.

The Petite, young, And Dusky Demure Husky Ms. Voice Tonality

A Poem by jay

Whose Husky Ms. Voice Tonality is that?

I think I know.
Its owner is quite sad though.
It really is a tale of woe,
I watch her frown. I cry hello.

She gives her Nasal Tonality a shake,
And sobs until the tears make.
The only other sound’s the break,
Of distant waves and birds awake.

The Voice Tonality is petite and young.

dusky demure and deep,
But she has friends to keep,
Until then she shall not sleep.
She lies in bed with wounds that weep.

She rises from her sulking bed,
With thoughts of chaotic madness in her head,
She idolises being a Rising Star.
Facing the day with never-ending yet, Far.

The River and the Sea Rhyming Couplet Ideas by jay

See the trotting of the River,
I think he’s angry at the mclvor.

He finds it hard to see the lake,
Overshadowed by the funny strip steak.

Who is that crawling near the pond?
I think she’d like to eat the beyond.

She is but a secret Sea,
Admired as she sits on an esprit.

Her happy car is just a flamingo,
It needs no gas, it runs on Domingo.

She’s not alone she brings a pond,
a pet shark, and lots of gond.

The shark likes to chase a fish,
Especially one that’s in the quish.

The River shudders at the bright crocodile
He wants to leave but she wants the restyle.

Frenemy and Fake People

They give their Fakes and legs a shake,
And sob until their tears melt.
The only other sound’s the break,
Of distant mirrors keeping barbers awake.

Fake are People, Frenemy and deep,
But they too have promises to keep,
Until then they shall not sleep.

The Fake And People Life

A Poem by Jay

Whose life is that? I think I know.
Its owner is quite happy though.

Full of joy like a vivid rainbow,
I watch her laugh. I cry hello.

She gives her life a shake,
And laughs until her belly aches.
The only other sound’s the break,
Of distant waves and birds awake.

The life is fake, people are deep,
But she has promised to keep,
After cake and lots of sleep.
Sweet dreams don’t come cheap.

She rises from her gentle bed,
With thoughts of kittens in her head,
She eats her jam with loads of bread.
Ready for the day ahead.

With thanks to the poet,

Robert Frost, for the underlying structure.

Enterprise: StartupPeopleConsulting

Founder: Vandana Sharma

Year it was founded: 2017

Sector: Business Services

Based out of: Bengaluru

Major Vandana Sharma has been a pathbreaker all her life. Her sense of adventure and tenacity led to her reaching the position of Major in the Indian Army. As a woman and a successful officer, she broke many stereotypes about women in uniform while in service. Her career in the armed forces is distinguished with her contribution to the Kargil War of 1999 being recorded and commended in the Military History of Army Ordnance Corps. From then to today, her entrepreneurial spirit, as she puts it, has attracted her to situations that required her innovative spirit and problem solving skills to resolve. Post her military career, Vandana forayed into the corporate world and has 21 years of diverse experience across multiple sectors. Working in leadership positions, she has added value to hiring practices and organisational transformation at companies like Wipro, Myntra and GMR. She established StartupPeopleConsulting in 2017 in Bengaluru. StartupPeopleConsulting is an organisation geared towards guiding entrepreneurs as they move towards their goals. Vandana is a TEDx speaker and she also speaks at various women’s forums to inspire and motivate more women to live independent and empowered lives.

Time in the army

Vandana was raised as a ‘fauji’ kid. Her father, and many other members of her family, were part of the armed forces. She found herself dreaming of being in the armed forces from a very young age and successfully took forward the family tradition of serving the country. Looking back, she narrates an experience that shaped her conviction. “My father was in the Air Force and my brother who is eight-years-older than me also joined the army. I would wear my father’s cap when he would return home and look myself in the mirror wondering if I could ever wear the uniform. I was in grade two or three then.”

Women were not allowed in the armed forces at the time, but change was in the offing. Women were included for the first time on the rolls in 1992 and Vandana knew she wanted to be part of this landmark change. In a batch of 33, she became one of the first few women to don the army greens. Her leaderships skills shone through, and over the course of the next 10 years, she attained the rank of Major and served with distinction in the Kargil War. Speaking about her time at the Army, she shares, “If you can run as fast, shoot as well, and do what you are signed up for – in my case, it was being able to supply stores effortlessly – as well as other male counterparts, nobody looks down upon you or considers you less.”

Business story

Following her successful stint in the army, she forayed into the corporate world. Her unique brand of leadership and experience helped her make significant contributions as an organisation transformer at Myntra, GMR, and Wipro – all large companies with commensurately large challenges.

While working with these companies, she realised that she had an entrepreneurial streak in her, being drawn to situations where things were “being done for the first time in an organisation or amid chaos and needed a fix.” Importantly, she realised, as she says, “It gave me a lot of joy to share my experience and help guide budding entrepreneurs on setting up startups and working with limited resources, financial constraints and acute deadlines.”

Her passion for supporting budding entrepreneurs took root and she founded StartUpPeopleConsulting in August 2017. Vandana shares, “A lot of entrepreneurs learn the hard way after making mistakes right from the start — from the time of searching for co-founders and early employees to find the right talent as per not just the skill or sector but also the values and vision of the organisations. My project helps early entrepreneurs with all people-related matters and also helps build their networks and teams across locations with minimum effort and speedy timelines.”

Challenges of starting up

Vandana finds, that like most entrepreneurs, her main issues are resource allocation, prioritisation, and selecting the right projects to address the right issues in challenging areas. Of course, scaling up and monetisation are areas of focus as she builds her business.

GlobalLinker Advantage

Vandana finds GlobalLinker very helpful as a networking tool. She says,“GlobalLinker is a great platform for digital meetings for small businesses. I am exploring business opportunities to expand my business network. This platform should be able to bring like-minded folks together who can leverage on each other and grow from strength to strength. The productivity tools and offers are very useful.”

Big business dream

Vandana’s dreams reveal a lot about her determined and visionary nature. When asked about her big business dream, she says, “I want to contribute towards building and nurturing an ecosystem for startups in India. I want to ensure that new-age organisations are agile and swift-footed to enable meeting market dynamics globally, have consistent performances like any other economic power, and build a great work ethic and culture in Indian startups. The right foundation and talent could help them grow into multi-billion organisations. Besides this, I am passionate about making a difference to this world. The causes which are close to my heart are women’s empowerment and doing something meaningful for armed forces veterans.”

Advice to aspiring entrepreneurs

“It’s a marathon so stay the course and don’t sprint. My motto in life has been: The universe falls in love with a stubborn heart! What you wish for always comes true if you work hard for it, so if you believe in your journey and purpose, it will come true one day,” shares Vandana.

Mazes of our own making and self-created Entanglements

All life is an effort to attain freedom from self-created entanglement.

It is a desperate struggle to undo what has been done under ignorance, to throw away the accumulated burden of the past, to find rescue from the debris left by a series of temporary achievements and failures.

Life seeks to unwind the limiting sanskaras of the past and to obtain release from the mazes of its own making, so that its further creations may spring directly from the heart of eternity and bear the stamp of unhampered freedom and intrinsic richness of being which knows no limitation.

Spirituality is a positive attitude towards life.

Spirituality is a positive attitude towards life.

Spirituality must make man more human. It is a positive attitude of releasing all that is good, noble and beautiful in man. It also contributes to all that is gracious and lovely in the environment.

It does not require the external renunciation of worldly activities or the avoiding of duties and responsibilities.

It only requires that, while performing the worldly activities or discharging the responsibilities arising from the specific place and position of the individual, the inner spirit should remain free from the burden of desires.

Spirituality and Detachment

Spirituality consists in meeting life adequately and fully without being overpowered by the opposites.

It must assert its dominion over all illusions—however attractive or powerful.

Without avoiding contact with the different forms of life, a perfect man functions with complete detachment in the midst of intense activity.

I like this newsletter from Emotional Intelligence Institute

NGAGE Issue 134
Tuesday 19th June 2018.

by Rachel Green, Director, The Emotional Intelligence Institute
www.theEIinstitute.com
Welcome to this week’s Engage newsletter. I hope you are happy and well. This week, all our new subscribers are from Australia. It’s great to have you with us. It is finally winter in Western Australia and I am thrilled to see the drought end and the rain fall. I hope the weather is being kind to you wherever you are.

Stress shrinks your brain: How to stop it

We live in a society that is stressful. How can emotional intelligence help? Feeling stressed is an emotion. How we respond to it and how easily it is triggered in us are both signs of how emotionally intelligent we are.

There are emotionally intelligent ways to handle stress, and there are ways that are not emotionally intelligent.

What do you do to stop yourself feeling stressed, under pressure or overwhelmed? What do you do when these stressed feelings arise? How quickly can you turn them around?

Let’s look at how we can handle all our responsibilities, but still be relaxed and live an emotionally healthy life by applying emotionally intelligent ways to reduce or handle stress.

Handle Stress tip 1: Write down your priorities

Identify your priorities. Write them down. Put them somewhere where you can see them easily. And read them. And read them often. Keep reminding yourself of your priorities and attend to them first. And then, of course, the big one, do your priorities!

Handle stress tip 2: Learn to say no (politely)

In order to meet your priorities you need to be able to say “no” to other opportunities that come your way.

Do not simply agree to do activities or tasks, just because you’ve been asked. Do not simply watch an interesting TV program just because it’s on. Don’t say “yes” just because something is interesting or nice. You do not have the time to do everything that is nice. Learn to say “no, thank you” nicely and firmly; and to stick to it.

Handle stress tip 3: Look after your health

When stress and pressure increase most people stop doing what they need to do to stay healthy. This is the time you must do what you need to do to stay healthy.

  • Eat even healthier food.
  • Go to bed even earlier.
  • Exercise even more.

Look after yourself at times of stress and then you’ll cope much better with the pressure.

Handle stress tip 4: Increase your Vitamin B intake

A clinical trial conducted at Swinburne University of Technology, by Professor Con Stough and his team, showed that those who took Vitamin B supplements over a three month period had lower levels of stress at the end of the trial period than when they began the study. In comparison the group who were given a placebo had no significant difference.

Easy meditations to calm your mind.

Are you frantic? Do you feel stressed, anxious or exhausted? Having trouble sleeping? Let these MP3s guide you through four easy-to-do meditations so you feel relaxed and calm. Learn how to use meditation to manage your emotions each day. Be calm. Be at ease. Handle Stress tip 5: Clear out your head

During the day most of us pick up a lot of negativity and dirt in our heads. We hear anger outbursts, we generate our own frustrations, and people are negative in how they talk to us or e-mail us.

All this dirt can stick in our minds. Just as you wash your body each day, get into the habit of clearing away your mind dirt, of getting rid of any negativity, resentments or anxieties that you have picked up during the day.

How you do this, whether through meditation, prayer, yoga, tai chi, dance, tapping, painting, voice toning, singing or other cleansing energising activity, doesn’t matter. It does matter that you do it. Don’t be worn down by negative junk in your mind. It is all part of stress and you don’t need it.

Be Happy not hassled

Worried that you can’t get rid of the stress. Try meditating. I use it regularly and it helps to keep me calm. We have some very popular meditation audio-downloads that can guide you to peace on our “Happy not hassled” MP3s.

Joke Corner

Thanks to Angelee Deodhar, in India, for today’s joke.

Driving on the Freeway.

An old man was driving down the Freeway at 22 kilometres per hour. He never went above or below. An officer noticed and followed him a while and then pulled him over. Before the officer could even get to the window the man was saying “I was not speeding, the speed limit is 22 kph and that is exactly what I was doing, I was not speeding”.

The police officer said, “I didn’t pull you over for speeding, I pulled you over for going too slow”.

The man said “But the sign says 22”.

The officer told him that he was on state route 22. As the man shook his head, the officer noticed that there were three older ladies sitting inside the car. All of them were sitting with their mouths hanging open. Their faces were very white and their hair was completely messy.

The police officer leaned toward the man and said “What is wrong with them?”

The man said “Well, we just came off state route 134”.

Summary

May your stress diminish and may you be able to stay calm in the face of negativity – let it wash over you. Learn how to slow down on the freeway of life with the guided meditations on our “Happy not hassled” MP3 recordings. Your brain will thank you.

Talk next week,

Have you felt Humbled?

I was going thru some of my old EverNote notes.
It read:
“Unable to get people on con call.
Someone commented on my old tie –all it needs is a stitch.
I was humbled.”
Those were good old Corporate days. Sometimes due to the Global Time Differences, it would become difficult to get people on Conference Calls/ Video Calls/ Audio Chats.
I remember vividly, one of the colleagues took a dig at my tie whose label had come out from one side and was visible to the powerful camera and hence to all participants.
My colleague said “All your Old Tie needs is a Stitch”.   It humbled me.
Today, I do not remember the name of the colleague and my bad, I did not note it down in the Evernote.
Thinking – how to mend some of the Old ties? The Old friendships. The Oldest ones for example.  A friend sent me a WhatsApp last afternoon “All well? No news from you for long?”
I thought, this friend was visiting USA to his two sons and may not have access to his Indian phone number/ whatsapp as it is a long stay – he had planned to stay for 6 months.
Then after a while, I found two missed calls and one which stopped before 3 rings ( Damn Redmi Y1 and Damn my One Plus 5 T).  I called him.  He was back 15 days ago and was shifting home after 34 years.  We became colleagues and later thick friends since 1985.  His old flat / building was going under renovation and the neighbors were concerned that he had not yet vacated the flat so that the builder can start work.  He shifted to a small one bedroom flat. Sitting among boxes, he thought of me and called. He was worried as most babyboomers do when they do not get RESPONSE.
We had a catch up chat, I said I may visit your town soon for a morning/ evening trip and will try and atleast speak from  airport.  He said stay back, be my guest. Let’s catch up. We may be gone again for a long long time to USA and who knows….
I knew I was humbled again – All the Old Tie needed what just a proverbial STITCH.

Did you know…

… that today, besides being Father’s Day (Happy Father’s Day!) is International Sing-Out Day? On the birthday of Barry Manilow, singer and songwriter, sing out a little song! Manilow was born on June 17, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York. Happy birthday, Barry!

Read somewhere. Art of Dealing. Story telling

A retired old couple returned to a Mercedes dealership where the salesman promised to hold a car for them.

But they found the car was just sold to a beautiful, leggy, busty blonde in a mini skirt and a halter top.

The old man was visibly upset. He spoke to the salesman sharply, “Young man, you said you hold that car till we raised the $95,000 asking price, yet you closed the deal for $75,000 to the young lady there. And if I remember right, you had insisted there was no discount for this model !

“The salesman took a deep breath, cleared his throat and reached for a large glass of water.

“Well, what can I tell you? She had the cash ready, didn’t need any financing help, and, Sir, just look at her, how could I resist?”, replied the grinning salesman sheepishly.

Just then the young woman walked over to the senior couple and gave the car keys to the old man.

“There you go,” she said. “I told you I could get him to lower the price. See you later Dad, Happy Father’s day.”

Once again….. don’t mess with seniors. I love this one.
A great laugh. 😛😛😛😛😛

20 harsh lessons to learn before you are 30

What are 20 harsh life lessons everyone should learn in their 20s? originally appeared on Quora — the knowledge sharing network where compelling questions are answered by people with unique insights.
Answer by Max Lukominskyi, life and productivity hacker, on Quora:
Life has already begun. There is no interlude. Nor is there a trial version. Your every decision matters.
Your online friends are fake friends. Unfortunately, it’s true. Most of them do not care about you and will not come in your hour of need.
If you fall in love, be ready to get your heart broken. It is tough and it hurts.
Your studying career does not end after prom. Knowledge is crucial. If you are not willing to be left behind, keep studying.
Your family members are the most important people in your life. They are the only ones who care about you. Treat them well and appreciate them.
Your weaknesses do not matter. Learn to accept this. The only things that matter are your strengths. Improve them.
Everything worth doing takes years. Do not expect to reach your goals too quickly. It will probably take much longer than you imagine.
All the opportunities for growth are beyond your comfort zone. Make leaving it a habit. Find your discomfort zone. Enter it.
Broken relationships are not worth staying in. Do not waste your time on things you cannot fix anymore. Let them go and move ahead.
The world is full of injustice. There are plenty of unjust things you are likely to face within your lifetime. Be ready!
Luck comes to those who work hard. Good things do not come to those who wait. Persistence and hard work are the only prerequisites for luck.
There is no perfect moment to start. If you want to start doing something, act now. Do not wait for a better moment. It will never come.
You cannot be everywhere and have everything. Learn to make the right choices and commit to the things that matter most.
Every person in your life should be appreciated. Do not take people for granted.
Experience and emotions are your best investments. The traditional measures of success — fancy cars and houses — are no longer relevant. Emotions, memories, experience, knowledge. These are the things that matter.
Later often means never. Do not postpone anything. Live now!
Success equals perseverance. Do not give up. Stay dedicated to your dreams. Chasing them is difficult, but it’s worth the struggle.
Regular workouts are crucial. Take care of your health and body. Exercise regularly and make sure you are in a good shape.
Your failures do not matter. Only wins count. Therefore, do not be afraid to fail.
Nobody will help you. You have to help yourself.

7 Buddha Puzzles

*There are 7 puzzles which the Buddha answered**There are 7 puzzles which the Buddha answered*

1: “What is SHARPEST thing in this world?”

His people replied simultaneously: ” Sword.”

Answer Buddha:
The sharpest is the ” human tongue
Because through the tongue, humans easily slander people, hurt the heart, hurt people’s feelings, etc …

2: What has the MOST distance from us in this world?

Some replied: ” Space, the moon, the sun.”

Answer Buddha:
The most distant is the ” Past“.
Whoever we are, however rich we may be, we can NOT go back in time.
Therefore we must make good use of today & days that will come.

3: What is BIGGESTthing in this world?

Someone replied:
Mountain, Earth, Sun.

“Answer Buddha:
The biggest one in the world is ” Lust“.

Many humans become wretched because they indulge their lusts.
All modes are justified in order to realize the dream and lust of the world.
Therefore careful with lust ..!

4: “What has the MOST WEIGHT in this world?

“Someone replied:
Steel, iron, elephant.”

Answer Buddha:
The hardest is ” Promise“.
It’s easy to say but hard to do.

5: “What is LIGHTEST in this world?

“Someone replied:
Cotton, wind, dust, leaves.”

Answer Buddha:
The lightest in the world is ” Forgetting Me & Leaving Me“.

Look at the many people who are chasing wealth and position, some simply leaves Me

6: What is CLOSEST to us in this world?

Someone replied:
Parents, Friends, Friends, Relatives.”

Answer Buddha:
The closest to us is ” DEATH“.
Because death is SURE and can happen any second.

7: Last question:
“What’s the Easiest thing to do in this world?”

They replied:
Eating, sleeping, hanging out

Answer Buddha:
The easiest is
SHARING YOUR KNOWLEDGE WITH OTHERS

Selfishness, Selflessness and Personal Ego

Selfishness and selflessness are two phases of the life of the personal ego, and these two phases are continuous with each other.

Selfishness arises when all the desires are centred around the narrow individuality. Selflessness arises when this crude organisation of desires suffers disintegration and there is a general dispersing of desires with the result that they cover a much wider sphere.

Selfishness is the narrowing down of interests to a limited field; selflessness is the extension of interests over a wide field.

To put it paradoxically, selfishness is a restricted form of selflessness, and selflessness is the drawing out of selfishness into a wide sphere of activity.

A chance encounter in a fertilizer dealer shop reminds me of this caption always.  I met a group of Guntotting Ex Dacoits who had spent 7 years in Open Jail as punishment and surrendered in front of Late Shri JayPrakash Narayan.

This Ex Dacoit was a Farmer and political leader now.  When introduced as the sales person who was selling his favorite brand of fertilizer – He had asked in HINDI whther “Ye Saheb swarthee hain ya parmarthee”. A Deep question about whether this person I am being introduced is Selfish or Selfless?  Even an Ex Convict chooses to know this beforehand.  Why I wondered?

Mental Turmoil: & a Random Quote from Bible – Jay’s Tantra -3

Numbers 31:15

Passage:

“Have you allowed all the women to live?”

he asked them.

I had a mental turmoil. At such moments, I turn to Gita, Ramayan, Bible and turn a page and pick one verse or quote.  Try and mull and understand the meaning to find inner peace and God’s message to me to listen to my inner voice with HIS Voice reverberating in my mind together.

This is a personal technique – I call it Jay’s Tantra and it helps me at times to go find the meaning beyond the words, deeply thinking, introspecting, reminiscences of the past and slowly it brings me to the present – my STATE and shows me a path to overcome the mental turmoil, dilemmas, indecisive phase, awkwardness of the decisions I thought or took and their impact.

I need to hear a preacher understand the quote from the bible but the belief that it is a God’s word – leads me to what I began searching and it has helped in terrible moments in my life.  They have always helped me to bounce back with vigor, rigor, self-confidence.

Sunday – Acts of kindness.

  1. Reconnect with your grandparents or an elderly person you know – give them a call! ( I reconnected with my granddaughter after a long while – she’s fluent in English, Hindi, Marathi and taught me a few Telugu words too 🙂 . WOW !
  2. Lend a friend a book you think they’d like (Gave away a whole library)
  3. Leave a kind message anywhere (in a library book, on a computer etc.)
  4. Wardrobe overflowing? Donate clothes to a charity ( I give it to a Blind school)
  5. Make amends with someone you may have wronged (Hmmm….. May be, I will)
  6. Know someone going through something you’ve been through? Give them advice
  7. Volunteer your time for a good cause  (PLANNING to create a video channel for the charities I support with help of a startup Video/ Filmmaker).
  8. Help someone improve, give them constructive feedback (Neyt! I’d rather feedforward as we can’t go back and correct it – but we can shape up in future.)
  9. We all love surprises! Buy someone an unexpected gift – Yes. worth a thought (Wife and daughter both gifted ME a USPA T-shirt each ! )
  10. Plant a seed – yes overdue. Note to self. Must do.
