INTERESTING day – Creativity and Random Phrases Generated for the day

  1. Put a Sock In It Meaning: Asking someone to be quiet or to shut up. Yes. I had to say it quite lovingly today as Excess in everything is bad.
  2. You Can’t Judge a Book By Its Cover Meaning: Don’t judge someone or something only by the outward appearance. Judging itself is bad. I heard young speakers today and the feedback could not help them – they needed Feedforward and cheerleading.
  3. Rain on Your Parade Meaning: To spoil someone’s fun or plans; ruining a pleasurable moment Yes. My feedforward may have done that to the organisers of the meet up who were pathetic narcissist speakers – giving minimal opportunity to members and aspiring speakers.
  4. Back to Square One Meaning: To go back to the beginning; back to the drawing board. Yes. I am actually happy to go back. Just posted some old painting pics today.
  5. When the Rubber Hits the Road Meaning: When something is about to begin, get serious, or put to the test. I have invested in Udemy, WordPress and Medium. I am quite serious.
  6. Down And Out Meaning: (1) A term used in a boxing. (2) Someone who has become incapacitated. When people keep saying that they are trying to find happiness I guess they are down and out and in need of narcotics which got them there in the first place.
  7. Greased Lightning Meaning: Very fast or quick. changed my mental tracks and I am no longer judging not even remotely trying.
  8. Cry Wolf Meaning: Someone that calls for help when it is not needed. Someone who is lying. Pathetic, pathogenic, habitual liars do not change. Not in my experience.
  9. An Arm and a Leg Meaning: Something that is extremely expensive. Getting back friendship is worth an arm and a leg.
  10. Down For The Count Meaning: Someone or something that looks to be defeated, or nearly so. And some play Sun Tzu rather well – Appear able when unable, appear unable when able. 🙂

3 winning marketing strategies to fuel business growth

Dhananjay Parkhe

1 hour ago — 4 min read

Summary: An effective marketing strategy ensures that your product/service reaches your target audience and that you maintain an edge over your competitors. Business mentor, Dhananjay Parkhe, shares some simple yet effective marketing strategies.

Anything’s tough to do, if you don’t have the right raw material to help you. These three winning marketing strategies are the right materials for an extremely successful business. After all, an effective marketing strategy is what drives sales and leads to business growth.

1. Attention – Ads that yield results

Think about it—how many advertisements do you hear every day…how about every hour?  Let’s face it, we’re bombarded with magazine ads, newspaper ads, TV ads, radio ads, and the Internet is plastered with banner ads, ticker ads, video ads on every site.  Not many of the astronomical number of advertisements stick with us and make an impact.  How can you make your ad stand out from the crowd?

  • Make a dramatic statement – “Even my dog knows…”

  • Surprise them with the unexpected – “Use for 30 days totally free…”

  • Ask a thought-provoking question – “Is your current insurance costing you thousand of extra rupees every year?”

  • Use high impact headlines – it’s important to snag their attention right away.

2. Get personal

How many times have you been caught in the cycle of IVR (Interactive Voice Response) services? Yes, you push 15 numbers and end up back at the main menu and never get to talk to a sales representative.  People are hungry for personal interaction in the marketplace.
Look for ways to make your business a personal experience that your customers will appreciate. Get to know something about the people who walk through your doors or land on your website/ecommerce stores.

Let people who visit your website know something about you. It’s easier to trust an individual than a huge impersonal company, and trust is crucial to building a pool of loyal customers.

3. Paint a picture

The end of a hectic week has finally arrived! As I lock the doors on a still cluttered office, my mind wanders to the many things that will demand my attention this weekend. I long to just escape the demanding voices…escape to the waters of the lake across town. It would be like heaven to plop myself across the back seat of a boat and watch the sea gulls dip and dive as the waves rock me to peaceful sleep. I can almost hear the sound of their splashing when the clang of metal alerts me to the fact that I’ve dropped my keys.
Put your customers on the boat.

Painting word pictures that capture their emotions will be more effective that the raw facts of the benefits your product offers.

Describe what the benefits will do for them, vividly and in great detail…get them panting for the end result.

Paint your way to a sale!

Think about it – the three strategies we’ve talked about deal with human emotions or behaviours, rather than your product itself.

When we affect the heart of the customer, our sales are likely to see great results…and hey, they’ll feel good while they’re writing out the check!

What more could you ask for?

Our Rude Onion Love

By Z-Jay’s Band A Love Song For Edie – Funny Song 🙂

This one’s for you Lord Pondicherry!

My love for you is like the most rude onion,
Your face reminds me of intelligent spiders,
Together, we are like muffins and pepper.

Oh darling Edie,
My rude onion,
My intelligent carrot,
The perfect companion to my muffins soul.

Roses are red,
Oceans are blue,
I like sand beneath her feet,
But not as much as I love acting with you!

Oh darling Edie,
Your hairs are like funny petals on a autumn day,
You’re like the most brave politician to ever walk The High Street.

Your intelligent spider face,
Your pepper soul,
Your funny hairs,
Your brave politician being…

How could I look at another when our rude onion love is so strong?

I love you Lord Pondicherry!

Auto Praise for Our Rude Onion Love

“Can you feel the love tonight? I certainly can. Edie is so lucky to feature in a song like this.”
– DJ Smooth, Awesome Tunes Magazine
“‘Comparing love to a rude onion is beautiful – just beautiful!”
– Little Max, The Pop Pop Channel
“Intelligent spiders? Seriously? Pass me a bucket. I can’t deal with this level of blurgh.”

Mentor Master Class- Free Tutorial Series 1-10 for Mentors from Jay Parkhe #2

In today’s competitive business world, there are two basic realities that drive the workforces. First one is getting people who get results. Second is to get people who get results stay.

Today’s world of globalization, customized employee enhancement plans, competitive benefits, and demographic changes make it very tough on companies to get and then retain talent. That’s how the managers of today are not just managers. They are recruiters, planners, motivators, and trainers, all rolled into one.

To keep this already-complex chain of operation from spiraling out of control, the companies have found the best way to manage their staff is to coach them. The role of a coach in a company, in this regard, is to take a group of people with diversified proficiency, understand their strengths and improve them, and at the same time, realize the cause of their weaknesses and eradicate them.

The Role of a Coach

The role of a coach is significantly different from that of an instructor. In coaching, employees are asked to grow in their strengths and address their weaknesses so that they realize their self-growth. It keeps them motivated and happy in the workplace – both keys to retaining talent.

Leaders take their staff from where they are to where they’ve never been before. Nothing could define coaching better than this statement from Henry Kissinger.

Coaching, in the true sense, is tailor-made for people who have the potential to grow to greater heights and yet, are too content in delivering just satisfactory performance. These employees are different from slackers who don’t perform properly, either due to non-interest or inferior knowledge.

The employees we are addressing are employees who like their professional life just the way it is at the moment, and have fit in snugly to the demands of the workplace, which is not bad in itself, however, every organization needs its employees to grow. That’s the way every organization grows too, being a sum total of different talented groups. The job of a coach, therefore, is to ensure that the employees improve their job performance through a constant process of encouraging and suggesting improvements.

4 Rules For Startrepreneurs – Practical Tips For Starting Right

Article Body:
It ís a great time to be an entrepreneur in the last decade, technology has leveled the playing field and propelled an entrepreneurial revolution. As an entrepreneur, you now have more access to information that enables you to make more intelligent choices more quickly. You have an advantage over big businesses in that youíre lighter, more flexible, and faster on your feet. You can target new markets more quickly, and you can turn on a dime.

But being a successful entrepreneur requires that you look at the big picture and follow a plan through from beginning to end. Rieva Lesonsky, editor-in-chief of Entrepreneur Magazine gives some practical guidelines that can help you when beginning your own enterprise:

1.Don’t Quit Your Day Job.
Consider starting your business part-time, especially if it’s online, while youíre working and have a steady income. It usually takes six months to a year to get a business going and you donít want your ability to make your house payment to hinge upon your company being an overnight success. Start with what you can manage, financially and time-wise, and scale up as your business grows.

2.Find Your Niche.
The days of general stores are over. Particularly online, consumers are looking for stores that specialize. You have to find a needósomething a specific group of people want, but canít get at the big chain storesóand fill it. Advises Lesonsky, ìYou canít compete with the big guys, so you have to find where the big guys arenít and go into your niches.î

3.Have an Online Presence.
Even if youíre not planning to start an online retail business, consider that the internet can still play a valuable role in your company. Having an online presence eliminates the limitations of physical location and broadens your customer base by, literally, millions. Itís also a great tool for promoting yourself and letting people, even in your own area, know that youíre there, and what youíre doing.

4.Refuse to Quit.
Successful entrepreneurship requires creativity, energy, and a drive to keep going when you fail. Few people realize that before Bill Gates created the extremely successful Microsoft 3.0, he created a Microsoft 1.0 and 2.0, both of which floppedóbut he kept at it. And that determination and refusal to give up is what will separate successful entrepreneurs from unsuccessful ones. Arm yourself with optimism to get beyond the #No1 or the trouble. There’s nothing wrong in failure just don’t repeat the same mistake!

Monday Mentor: Startpreneurs : Title:  ìWhy Business Credit Is A MUST For Every Business Owner!î

Word Count:

531

Summary:

Entrepreneurs typically make one or more financially devastating mistakes when financing the launch, operation and/or growth of their businesses. In most cases, they donít realize that theyíre making a mistake.

Keywords:

business credit, corporate credit, unsecured business line of credit, business line of credit, start up capital

Article Body:

As an entrepreneur, youíre hardwired to enjoy a greater level of risk than the average person. But do you enjoy the thrill of business and investing so much that youíre willing to risk:

-Being hounded by creditors?

-Declaring bankruptcy?

-Being denied a mortgage?

-Paying more than your fair share of interest on your loans?

-Losing your house?

If you answered ìnoî to one or more of these questions, this may be the most important report youíve read in a long time.

Because, if youíre like most entrepreneurs, investors, and business owners I have met over the past 44 years, youíre in danger of facing all of these horrific problems.

And it ís all because of your business.

You see, entrepreneurs typically make one or more financially devastating mistakes when financing the launch, operation and/or growth of their businesses. In most cases, they donít realize that theyíre making a mistake.

And to tell the truth, even when they do realize theyíre making a mistake Ö they lull themselves into thinking that the consequences will be a minor annoyance.

Until, one day, they canít qualify for a mortgage. Or they canít get the to-die-for financing offered on the new car theyíre buying. Or theyíre hounded by creditors and eventually have to declare bankruptcy.

And it is all because they use their personal finances to fund the launch or expansion of their business. They then use personal credit cards to pay for business expenses. If you are in business or thinking about starting a business, business credit is a must.

Let me explain, most business owner have no idea that they can establish business credit and even fewer know how to how to establish business credit. If owners would take the time necessary to educate themselves about establishing credit they would no longer have to use their personal funds for start up capital or working capital.

They would also be able to use business credit cards which donít report to their personal credit reports, therefore, not lowering the personal credit scores.

The most important goal of business credit though is to obtain unsecured business lines of credit, which can be done once the business credit profile is set up properly. Once a business obtains unsecured business lines of credit, they then have the working capital they need to start a business or expand their business. The business owner has check book control to use the business lines of credit as they wish. And best of all, the business lines of credit donít report to the business ownerís personal credit report.

If you have set up your business profile correctly there are a number of banks that will lend to brand new start up business. That is right, brand new start up business with no track record whatsoever. The banks will extend unsecured business lines of credit so they can have the start up capital they need to finance the business of their dreams.

Make no mistake about it; business credit is a MUST for every business owner. Donít put your personal assets at risk finance or fund your business!

Fords By Z-Jay’s Band – I’d singh thish song if I had a band some day :)

An Original Song

by Z-Jay

She gets on with life as a professor,
She’s a stupid kinda gal.
She likes snappy emails on Sundays,
She likes lying and hiding truth in the week.
She likes to contemplate Fords.
But when she starts to daydream,
Her mind turns straight to BMWs.

Five six seven eight…

Sometimes I look at her and I look into her eyes,
I notice the way she thinks about BMWs with a smile,
Curved lips she just can’t disguise.
But she thinks it’s Fords making her life worthwhile.
Why is it so hard for her to decide which she loves more?
Fords or…
BMWs?

She likes to use words like ‘macho,’
She likes to use words like ‘awesome.’
She likes to use words about Fords.
But when she stops her talking,
Her mind turns straight to BMWs.

Fords or…
BMWs?

She likes to hang out with G’s,
She likes to kick back with Sg’s,
But when left alone,
Her mind turns straight to BMWs.

Fords or…
BMWs?

She’s not too fond of pigeons,
She really hates SUVs,
But she just thinks back to BMWs,
And she’s happy once again.

Five six seven eight…

Auto Praise for Fords

“Fords or BMWs – it’s the age-old question. This music is deep, man.”

– DJ Smooth, Awesome Tunes Magazine

“‘Five six seven eight…’ – I just can’t get it out of my head. Such a catchy song.”

– Little Max, The Pop Pop Channel

“I’m a a stupid kinda gal too, so this song really resonates with me.”

– A Web User With Lots of Opinions

“This song deserves to be in the charts, perhaps with a music video depicting a professor dancing on the moon.”

Mentor Master Class- Free Tutorial Series 1-10 for Mentors from Jay Parkhe #3

In today’s competitive world, recruiters no longer hold on to traditional methods of recruiting through traditional one-to-one interviews. Thanks to the added competition, which has resulted in a shortage of talent, companies are fast resorting to technology, and platforms like Skype, GoToMeetings are fast replacing the old model of interviewing.

Companies are increasingly adopting employee-centric approaches to working by providing flexi-times, work-from-home initiatives, in addition to many other perks and benefits. Organizations are also getting the option to employ people they want, as compared to the ones who were available to them.

When an organization is located over multiple areas, the big challenge is to connect all the employees located in different offices spread all across the world, to the organization’s vision, identity, and rules – the big picture. That’s where coaching comes in. It is the best way to develop junior talent and provide the skills and expertise to make them experts. Having said that, mentoring provides ample space for a person to retain his individuality and his personal sensibilities.

Note that the goal of mentoring isn’t to create clones. Instead, it is to help people achieve their highest potentialwhile being in sync with the organization’s vision and objectives.

Coaching is not an innate ability; you are not born with the art of coaching. The other misunderstanding that’s often associated with coaching is that it’s related only to sports. Coaching is about pumping people’s spirits, and motivating them. Lack of motivation doesn’t come only in sports. There are times when employees too feel a need for motivation to deliver good results. Coaching helps these employees in holding their own in their team and being a productive group.

Coaching is the method of making people realize the heights they can achieve if only they kept persevering and putting proper effort. Mainly, coaching calls for a change of thinking and approach to a task. It’s about getting the person think positively about his chances of achieving his goal. It includes employee orientation towards the workplace politics, and to assist in removing the barriers to work performance.

Optimal and Optimum

There is a difference between the usages of words optimum and optimal. If a company specifies that they are interested in obtaining optimum results, they mean they want the best output from their employees. On the other hand, if they say they are looking for optimal results, that would mean that they are interested in obtaining the best work out of you in the given circumstances, or working conditions.

There are occasions when the line between optimum and optimal are blurred in coaching. Situations like these arise when an organization starts working on a new project and they need to ram up the office fast with people who are experienced in working on similar projects.

In situations like these, the job of a coach is not only to provide high levels of motivation to employees to excel in their performance, but also to ensure that the employees perform at their peak even if the requisite resources are not always available. It’s about lifting their spirit and keeping it high throughout tough times.

Wednesday Mentor: 12 Sales-Boosting Strategies

Word Count:
621

Summary:
Want to Hyperscale and boost profits and gain market share? Here are some things you can do to gain a bigger piece of the pie.

Article Body:
The competition is fierce and advertising budgets are tighter than ever whether you are a Startupper, Startpreneur, Solopreneur, Woman Entrepreneur or SME.  We are HyperCurious to boost our profits, HyperScale turnover and gain market share. I recommend following things that we can do to gain a bigger piece of Market Pie and Profits.

Give your product a distinct personality.

Staples is an instantly identifiable, highly memorable name that boosted sales and brand recognition. It personifies the brand while selling the message that whatever customers need they can get at Staples.

Give them an interesting history lesson.
Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, left historical records of a powder made from the bark and leaves of the willow tree to help heal headaches, breads and fevers. By 1829, scientists discovered that salicin in willow plants was the key ingredient in aspirin, which was later repackaged and marketed by Bayer.

Sing your productís praises.
Create a memorable catchy song, poem or jingle that hooks in peopleís minds. Gillette sold millions of razor blades using the Best Man Can Get, which continues to stick in consumers’ heads, leaving a positive impression about the product’s unbeatable performance.

Re-package your product for the customer.
Create new convenience packaging that makes your product easier to buy, use or refill. Motor oil used to be sold in cans that required a punch-in can opener or separate punch-through spout. These were messy and troublesome to use.

Let consumables take the lead.

Computer printers can be bought for as little as $ 20 , yet the ink cartridges sell for $ 29 apiece . Do not worry about making a big profit on devices , let your consumables take the lead .

Use viral marketing.
Viral marketing is any word-of-mouth or ìtell a friendî mechanism that induces users to re-convey a marketing message to other sites or users. Leveraged by the power of the web and email, viral techniques can create exponential growth in your products.

Customize your product.
Try to give customers exactly what they want by creating apparently customized versions of your product. Consider the success of Cycle 1, 2, 3, 4 Pet Foods, or Burger Have it Your Way.î

Go high tech.
Exploit the latest technological advancements in media to underscore your message. For example, explore the use of audio chips in magazines, brochures or mailers. The novelty of these devices gets people talking, and thereís that ìVî word again (viral marketing).

Promote product sharing.
This can be done by showing how your product brings friends and family together. An emotional appeal like this can be very memorable. For example you can share half and still have a whole.î Another is the ubiquitous Friends-and-Family discount, which abounds in everything from cell phones to vacation packages.

Show your product being used by experts.
If possible, establish your product as the one used by recognized experts in the field. A case in point is Canon ís use of photo journalists to endorse its 35mm cameras.

Make your product sui generis.
Establish the fact that your product is generically in a class by itself. Consider Porscheís use of the line ìthere is no substitute.î Or products that have become household words: ìblow your nose with a Kleenex,î or ìmake me a Xerox copy.î

Think outside the demographic box.
Attract a new category of customers by thinking outside the box. Consider gaining younger or older buyers by expanding the utility and style of your product, e.g., cell phones for ëtweens, or health bars for seniors.

Creativity: Random phrases for Friday and how my day went.

  1. Two Down, One to Go Meaning: Two things have been completed, but there is one more that has yet to be finished.  I finished two article writing and two presentations now one more to go.  Going is tough but it gets going.
  2. Easy As Pie Meaning: Something that is easy.  Parting was so damned easy, why did I drag my feet and procrastinate?  I should have listened to my Theta brainwave and the Gut feel the very first time.
  3. Throw In the Towel Meaning: Giving up; to surrender.  Even the worst of urban commie brainwashed bran-heads give up in surrender, the worst of the masks can be unpeeled and the already Red Inside faces can be made bloody – it is a skill, a technique,  a hard De-mentoring and exposing the pseudos – the Freeloaders who like a pest/ Leech suck your time, efforts, money and peace of mind. Good riddance!
  4. Right Out of the Gate Meaning: Right from the beginning; to do something from the start. Someone said about hindsight and my polite response was – I have foresight and farsight. I drive with a backview mirror – I don’t need a mirror to see driving in the fore.  The hindsight is reserve of the stray horses and mares with broken or absent shoes with hurting nail which makes them kick at everything – not in sight and ignore what is in sight.  That is where the ‘Saddle point’ of negotiations arrive and the Best Jockeys – Mentors put nose rings and blinkers ON so that they can convert the strays into Race horses.  Best trainers, jockeys have a different approach to deal with them. Branding them is the first step 🙂
  5. Jack of All Trades Master of None Meaning: Having suitable skill in multiple things, but not being an expert in any of them.  Yes.  For too long I have been that.  45 specific online courses (on Udemy)  later – i am still searching for the right niche’ to be an expert.  Otherwise, I am sure, I shall get an Honorary D.Litt. from a friendly University one day 🙂 🙂 🙂

Tuesday Mentor : How many ‘Formulas’ and Ópen Secrets’ of SUCCESS will keep producing Bestsellers? Jay Parkhe

Formula For YOUR Success!

While everyone who seems to come up with SUCCESS, FORMULA, SECRET in their titles makes to the best seller list of books – rarely one formula is good for Home businesses or Startpreneurs.

Summary:

Outline your tasks daily using the day timer you will know what day and time you can repost your ads or emails to Safelists. This is a great time saver. If you have multiple email accounts a program called GMAIL Aps is tops, login one place and check them all at once. A lot times for every task to get the most important done early

Keywords:

Finding your niche so you can concentrate. When you find out what your specialty is then you can start to promote to the people that are working on the same type of things you are. Are you just with a program to make money as an affiliate? Do you have your own website that goes back to your affiliate site?

Are you selling homemade products?

Are you someone that is selling from his/her own store or mall?

There are so many different things to promote and you want to reach your target audience to get the results that you are seeking.

Outline your tasks daily using the day timer you will know what day and time you can repost your ads or emails to Safelists. This is a great time saver. If you have multiple email accounts a program called GMAIL Apps is tops, login one place and check them all at once. A lot times for every task to get the most important done early when you are full of energy. Take breaks so you can re-evaluate what you are doing and be more receptive to tasks still to be done. Organization will set you above the crowd because you will accomplish more.

Reach your crowd after finding your niche you need to advertise to your target. Go to forums and post to the ones that fit your niche so you will be working your ads to people with the same goals and targets you have. In the forums you will not be able to blatantly set your ads out, post what you would like to add and then leave your signature with your URL in it. If they enjoyed or learned from your post they might want to follow up by visiting your site.

Mentors get you trained and help stimulate the learning process. They keep you fortified with uplifting values and appeal to your excitement. With the right mentor you will go farther because you are learning from them, this shortens your learning curve. When you work with others listen and you will gain information from them from what they have been doing in their promotion.

Using every avenue of promotion, traffic exchanges also use banner views for your credits. They have blog exchanges, you view others blogs to get traffic to your blog. They also have banner rotators you can post one url in the banner slot with 5 banners loaded to cycle through. Just a few of the ways to make your time work better with tools online. Before you purchase any software online check out and see what other people have to say about it at Google. This is a way to find out before you have put out your money for software that will

not be used. Market wisely and then you will be in the profit zone.

Leave nothing to chance, ad trackers help you to find which promotion is working for you. This also depends on titles and content when this has been checked and it still does not pull people in, then leave the non-producers behind and find new ones. Traffic Hoopla has the top promoters listed every week; this is a good resource to check. This one costs but still a good resource- Traffic Testers.

Advertise, and advertise some more, you just have to get the word out. Even the big names put their logos and advertising out there for millions of dollars. You can start with the free ones and after making money move on and put your money out for paid advertising. Keep your records so you know what you are spending and what is bringing the people to your site.

  4. You Can’t Judge a Book By Its Cover Meaning: Don’t judge someone or something only by the outward appearance.  But some people would subtly, simply invite you to judge every one of their actions willy nilly and we find them sulking when things do not go well with them in terms of feedforward.
  5. Tug of War Meaning: It can refer to the popular rope pulling game or it can mean a struggle for authority.  I drop Coaching / mentoring clients when this begins and some of them begin back to back coaching/ mentoring when it is clear that what I do is not Peer Coaching.
  6. Jig Is Up Meaning: For a ruse or trick to be discovered; to be caught.  I tried an experiment today. Wrote 5 points and the person picked up only one to respond – it was about them! There was least concern or expression about other 4 of which 3 related to me. I write such people off as Self-centred, selfish and ungrateful.
  7. Fit as a Fiddle Meaning: Being fit as a fiddle means to be in perfect health.  A little bad spell with low sugar and BP – otherwise all parameters are good and stable.
  8. Jaws of Life Meaning: Usually this references a tool used by rescuers when they pry or cut open a car to save the occupant. I just wish no one should go thru such experience.
  9. Roll With the Punches Meaning: To tolerate or endure through the unexpected mishappenings you may encounter from time to time. I have begun to all the Table topics at Toastmasters as Terror / Horror Topics 🙂
  10. Dropping Like Flies Meaning: To fall down ill or to die in large numbers.  – No . Not happening.

Great Idioms Generated today: Predicting the day and being creative with Randomness –

I am doing a new Learning course about Master 5 key elements of Story Writing/ Telling.

The Key elements are

  1. Character
  2. Objective
  3. Conflict
  4. Action
  5. Stakes

To Ramp this all up – it is essential to churn some new ideas and I am using the Random Phrases/ Idiom Generation methods.  This is close to what I learnt at Dr. Edward de Bono’s Serious creativity and Lateral thinking books and trainings. They are great.

A Good Plan’s All You Need.  This is true. I need to plan again. Have tried several things, done several things. My core is into Strategy and Planning but have done many things impulsively.  Good Random inputs.

A Bandage For Your Sorrow.   Is there a Bandage for Sorrows? I have proved to be with a touch of Magic and the remaining half of my heart ( after cardiac issues) of Gold, Pure and Untouched.  But what I really need is a Hand that heals those unseen, only felt wounds and sorrows people undergo. It is a gift I keep demanding the God and wait for his Kindness to shower.

The Hopes Of The Devil.  I shall park these for the moments.

Creativity and looking back at the Random Phrases generated this morning.

  1. Fight Fire With Fire Meaning: To retaliate with an attack that is similar to the attack used against you.  Used judicially, without impulse and impatience – it is one of the best Tactical play – not a strategic one.
  2. Drawing a Blank Meaning: Failing to recall a memory. Unable to remember something.  True. I have erased my mailbox and social media of one set of memories and I can truly use the expression ‘Tabula Rasa’ – Empty slate today. Even my memory enhancing tablets may not be able to help now.
  3. Mountain Out of a Molehill Meaning: One who escalates small things and turns them into big problems. Hmmm… but frankly, barring cleaning of my Mac I did not face such issues.
  4. Roll With the Punches Meaning: To tolerate or endure through the unexpected mishappenings you may encounter from time to time.  Yes. a phase is over. Hopefully.
  5. Curiosity Killed The Cat Meaning: Typically said to indicate that any further investigation into a situation may lead to harm.  Who can agree more? Me the HyperCurious, HyperCritique, HyperScaler, HyperMentor?  I have faced this and overcome this.
  6. Top Drawer Meaning: High quality, exceptional; something that’s very valuable.  What is more important in life than LOVE?  Nay, not money.
  7. Playing Possum Meaning: Pretending to be dead, or to be deceitful about something. No. Not my nature but people promising to do and not doing – I have seen plenty. Lack of integrity.  Even simple courtesies to let people know they can not meet or call due to….  etc. etc.
  8. Happy as a Clam Meaning: The state of being happy; feeling delighted.  Got three more certifications from Udemy today.
  9. It’s Not All It’s Cracked Up To Be Meaning: Failing to meet expectations; not being as good as people say.  It takes minimum two to Tango – No?  Just asking?
  10. Quick On the Draw Meaning: Performing an action with the greatest of haste.  When procrastination takes over, self medication, self harm and self-sabotage starts. Drugs, Alchohol and other addictions begin to take over the brain and one flips into an endless abyss.  It is sad but true.

Jay’s Tantra day: No dilemma today. Still turning to God for answers

Jay’s Tantra technique is to turn to Bible and Gita on a day when he is faced with a dilemma and seek support and answers from God.

Today, I have no dilemma still I turn to God for answers.

Random verse from Bible that came my way is :

1 Samuel 2:2

Passage:

“There is no one holy like the LORD;

there is no one besides you;

there is no Rock like our God.”

And the Gita Shloka said:

Delta Free verse by Jay

A mudflat, however hard it tries,
Will always be Delta.
Does the mudflat make you shiver?
does it?

I cannot help but stop and look at the Theta estuary.
Does the estuary make you shiver?
does it?

I will consider my sudd.
For my sudd is little because it wants to provide.
A sudd is diminutive. a sudd is shrimpy,
a sudd is teentsy, however.

Replugged: My article about 11 Mentoring approaches of Jay Parkhe

We are all a One Man Company. Jay is A Complete FootBall/ Cricket/ Hockey Team Rolled into one as an Accomplished Mentor

  1. Jay is a Coach. ( For Executives / StartPreneura / Businessman/Woman):

When you need to have older, wiser person around, who is better attuned to your industry and job, Jay can coach you through tough moments, think big picture on projects and ideas, and helps Mentees solve work-related problems. Coach is required when you need someone to help you think-through difficult problems. A good coach doesn’t solve problems; they help you see both the problem and your role clearly. They do this by observing, listening, asking focused questions, reflecting back, and challenging. Coaches can suggest strategies for solving problems you may not have considered, and can help you think “bigger picture” on ideas and possible solutions.

  1. Jay is a Connector – All Mentees need this.

There is an old saying, “It’s all about who you know?” Well, it’s who you know — along with who they know, and to whom they are willing to introduce you. Jay willingly opens up his network to help move an entrepreneur and his or her business forward. Whether it’s staking his own credibility on helping find a first customer who’s willing to take a risk on the unproven entity, or making that connection to a critical hire, Connector Jay is one of the most valuable mentoring assets a startup can have. People are generally inward looking. Connector Jay is outward-facing (makes you do a short exercise with your thumbs too which is his trademark style). Jay’s satisfaction comes from helping people meet each other. Jay has met a half dozen true connectors in life and without them, he would not have had as much success. Nobody knows why Jay loves connecting people, but this sharing traits comes from having bountiful amounts of energy and loving new ideas. Jay is a networker for 15 years of Social Media and has a wide and very deep network of people who all respect me and they often «get things done.» If you meet one of these people, hang on. (He may be prove to be your GodFather moment! 🙂

Jay is also an expert on Social media, Blogging and Networking and has spent 15 years in self-learning. He offers valuable tips, technology help, productivity support thru web tools he has tested over the years.

  1. Jay is a Challenger – For StartPreneurs, Business People, Social Enterprises.

Jay is not a mentor you’ll be spending New Year’s Eve with because he is there to call bullsh– on a lot of things that will sometimes make you uncomfortable. But that’s OK. If you want lots of happy talk, call your Mom. She will love everything you do. If you want to grow, you will want some challengers in your life who will tell you when they think you’re doing something wrong or if an idea just plain *****. They’re the ones who, after you call the Cheerleader about your great idea, will tell you a dozen ways why it won’t work unless you do X, Y, and Z. This criticism, if it comes from the right place, will set you on the right path. Challenger Jay is super smart and super fast–:) he often doesn’t have a lot of time so you’ll find he’ll give his dose of advice quickly and move on. Call on Jay only when you need him. He is not an ATM – Any Time Mentor! An entrepreneur’s drive needs to come from within, but many of us also need a healthy push to heighten our sense of passion and urgency and keep us moving forward. The Challenger’s role is to push an entrepreneur to put in the hard work, to sweat the details that matter, to hit key milestones and to outwork his/her competition. It’s also The Challenger’s responsibility to confront assumptions and ask the tough questions that ultimately prevent an entrepreneur from making costly errors.

  1. Jay is a Cheerleader – Executives, StarUps, Businesses.

You remember the people whom you can call after getting a big promotion and they will be as thrilled for you as your mother. And believe me, nobody will ever be as thrilled as Mom. In a cutthroat world, you need people who will genuinely be happy for you and who will be there when everyone else has left–i.e., after your company has gone bankrupt. Jay is one person like this who will sends encouraging texts or takes calls immediately if you are having a particularly bad day. Sometimes that’s all you need to get you through. You don’t need too many people like this–sometimes one is just enough, but this person is your rock.

Cheerleader Jay can give an entrepreneur the motivation and energy needed to persevere. That energy is also found in a supportive spouse, parent or in good friends, but it really helps to have someone with relevant experience and credibility say, “You can do this.”

5.Jay is an Educator – An Advisor for Business People

Jay was a Visiting B School Faculty for 15 years and and Advisor to Two New Educational Institutes and three Skills Development companies. As an Educator: Starting a business is the steepest learning curve anyone can experience. The tests of building a business are frequent — and lessons are ongoing. Educator is someone who sees in an entrepreneur a desire to learn and is willing to sit down and teach him/her when needed. From business basics to complex ideas and practices, they’ll take the time to understand knowledge gaps and help entrepreneurs avoid the costly mistakes that can be caused by being too proud to ask for help or advice. Educator is a person who takes the time to sit down and share their expertise with those who want to learn. Educators love to help others by sharing their wisdom. They want to see everyone succeed!

  1. Jay is an Ideator – StartUp, Running Businesses, C-Level Executive Coach

Jay is a Creative Thinker, Critical Thinker, Lateral Thinker and also an Elastic Thinker = The Ideator Jay asks you Are you dreaming big enough? Are you being as creative as you can be? When an entrepreneur is buried in executing day-to-day tasks and sweating the small stuff in the trenches, taking the time to pause and survey the bigger picture is critical for keeping a business moving in the right direction. The Ideator loves to play the role of thought partner which Jay calls as Accountability Partner a term he borrows from his Mentor and Coach Dr. Marshall Goldsmith as an entrepreneur thinks critically about how to build a creative and differentiated business

  1. Jay the Librarian – Executives, StartUps, Businesses,

Jay is a powerhouse of knowledge and experience. He is a walking encyclopedia on subjects he likes and has invested his time to learn more, informally. As you navigate through life, it’s helpful to be able to pull from various resources to help you get along. The Librarian has a wealth of information on your community, clubs, organizations and support systems. They know a resource for almost any need and are aware of where to go to get questions answered or to get things done.

8.Jay the Super Star and Idol to many of his Mentees – Executives, StartUps

We need to find people who we admire. People who are living parts of ourf life in a way you aspire to, or who currently have the career that you want to have. Spend time with them and get to know their routines, their resources, how they go about their days. While their way is not the only way, you can gain valuable insight into steps you might want to take to get you closer to your goals!

9.Jay can be your Teammate – Executives, StartUps, Businesses

Some days you just need an awesome listener. Someone to remind you that it’s okay; tomorrow is another day. A good teammate realizes that you aren’t always looking for a solution to your problem, or a motivational speech to spur you on. You just need someone to listen with a sympathetic ear, and then allow you to move on.

  1. Jay is a small brand – Startups and Businesses. Social enterprises.

with image, reputation and following – I support your Brand Story development by sharing my successes and failures transparently and helping you find your own answers in moments of Crisis. Jay helps entrepreneurs Dream Big – Define their Vision, Set their Mission, Goals, Objectives, Action Plans by working on a Long and Mid Term Strategy for their businesses. He then helps them to begin execution by drawing up a Project Management dummy set up with timelines, deadlines, Reviews, course correction etc.

Not all Jay’s mentees need his Entire gamut of skills. They sometimes pick and choose specific ones to save time, energy and effort or duplication.

  1. Jay is a Non-Playing Captain, Coach and Mentor

Jay takes an impassionate, detached, cold look at the business as it passes thru its crisis, turnaround, loss making phases and offers to work with the team to find solutions by brainstorming, creative thinking technique. His methods are unique, they do stand the test of time eventhough they may not have been tested in your industry.

4 Secret Selling Techniques You Must Implement

Word Count:

691

Summary:

To reach our business goals we need right resources and/or the insights to help our business reach the success it’s capable of.  Following four insights will help us generate the business we’ve always dreamed of.

Article Body:

1.  Experiment with New Advertising Methods

A sharp decline in the effectiveness of our advertising campaign is usually the the first sign that we might need to explore new marketing strategies We shell out and ( as critics say – BURN) hard earned cash to advertise, and pubic turns its nose up! Procrastinating till our profits are plunging to start hunting for new marketing strategies is futile.

What could possibly be these foolproof selling techniques? Yeah, no more customers walking out with empty hands… no more profits disappearing into thin air! Share below,  are 4 secrets that will help you put money in your pocket, and enhance your current customer list and augment, hyperscale your business.

1. Make It Easy

While the old adage – variety is the spice of life is true;  giving customers too many choices can lead them into indecision or procrastination. We know, very well;  when customers procrastinate … we lose sale!

Imagine a customer walks into shop / the point of purchase, your business premises; and is ready to purchase, and suddenly sees several options he didn’t know existed, he’ll stop, and then decide… which one?   If he’s uncertain… well, you lose a sale that was already in your pocket.

Make it easy for your customers to decide… yes, I’ll buy it… no I won’t buy it.  Yes and no decisions are a lot easier to make, and are more likely to put cash in the drawer.

2. Offer Several Ways To Buy

Too many choices can overwhelm customers and can cost you sales.  These options of how to buy may open up avenues for customers to purchase the product they’ve decided they need. They say there are different strokes for different folks… your customers don’t all use same methods to buy.  It just makes sense that if the method they prefer is available, they’ll be more likely to take advantage of it.

Convenience it the key to attracting buyers in today’s fast paced society.  What will be the fastest and easiest for them… credit card, phone, fax, Internet, or cold hard cash?

3. Keep it Simple

Do you remember the frustration of spending 10 minutes pushing buttons on the phone just to get through a pain-in-the-neck automated ordering service.  Heck, you just wanted to buy that one item!  Maybe it was the time you had to click your finger raw, just to jump through the hoops of an online shopping cart.  Yeah, the temptation to just forget it is right there!

Don’t frustrate your customers with intricate ordering processes.  Most likely, they just want to place the order in a few minutes and be done.  Let them get frustrated, and they’ll go elsewhere, or just abandon the idea altogether.

4. Follow Up

One of my favorite catalog companies always closes out the sale with a special buy that is available only at the time of purchase.  I’m an impulsive shopper by  but it stops me in my tracks every time.  I know it’s a one-time shot, and I really consider whether I want or need it before I hang up the phone.

How many items would your customers buy if you were to follow up every sale with a special offer?  Internet marketers have a world of options at their fingertips.  The products you offer don’t even have to be yours… and you can still make a profit!

Affiliate marketing is sweeping the Web.  Think about it… would your customers benefit from an ebook that deals with the product they are purchasing?  You can offer it to them, and let the owner handle ordering process while you collect the commission.  It’s as easy as 1, 2, and 3 and profitable too!

Boosting your sales numbers and profits isn’t as tough as it sounds.  Implement these 4 simple selling techniques, and watch your sales steadily climb… and just think… they didn’t cost you a penny!

Creativity, My Day and Random Phrases

  1. Under Your Nose Meaning: Missing something that should be really obvious. How did I miss the obvious that the Business person in a mentee will always prefer MONEY, MONEY, MONEY and if here is seductive voice enticing – he will surely and certainly fall for it.
  2. High And Dry Meaning: To be left behind; abandoned. Being in a helpless situation without a way to recover.  No. That does not happen and it is no pretense, in my mind, I work these scenarios and still try and address issues as a Human being and forgive people as humans.
  3. A Fool and His Money are Soon Parted Meaning: It’s easy for a fool to lose his/her money.  I do lose some, but do keep losing – primarily to my false pride, magnanimity and the inability to find untrustworthy people.
  4. You Can’t Judge a Book By Its Cover Meaning: Don’t judge someone or something only by the outward appearance.  Time is ripe now that I actually should judge the book by its cover.
  5. Jaws of Life Meaning: Usually this references a tool used by rescuers when they pry or cut open a car to save the occupant.  I take this as a cue to use my strong arms and use the strength to overcome the situations that are regularly arising.
  6. Down For The Count Meaning: Someone or something that looks to be defeated, or nearly so.  Just trying to visualise the moves as -people are sharp, smart and pretend – They appear unable, when able and Appear able when the are unable.  Even the best strategists can fail to read this at first glance.
  7. When the Rubber Hits the Road Meaning: When something is about to begin, get serious, or put to the test.  This year I have acted more decisively, more abruptly, more impulsively – especially when it came to people decisions.  Most have proved right and initial errors of judgement about them were corrected by breaking up an dblocking them.
  8. Ugly Duckling Meaning: One who may seem plain at first in appearance or capability, but later turns out to be beautiful or great.  Some ugly ducklings pretend to be the future swans but their company makes sure, the ruboff is so strong that they remain – UGLY.
  9. What Am I, Chopped Liver? Meaning: A rhetorical question used by a person who feels they are being given less consideration than someone else. Used to happen a few months ago but now things are much under control and survivalism is not required.
  10. Mouth-watering Meaning: Delicious; something that looks or tastes appetizing.  Paav Bhaji for dinner – home made… wow Yummy ! made my day. 🙂

Characteristics Of A Successful Entrepreneur

Word Count:
427

Summary:
Studies have shown; successful entrepreneurs possess three characteristics:

Keywords:
entrepreneur,franchise,jobs,careers,mentoring,coaching,marketing,small business,at home business
Studies have shown that successful entrepreneurs possess three characteristics:

  1. Self-confidence

It is that magical power of having confidence in oneself and in Entrepreneur’s powers and abilities.

  1. Achievement Oriented

Results are gained by focused and sustained effort. Entrepreneurs concentrate on achieving a specific goal, not just accomplishing a string of unrelated tasks.

  1. Risk Taker

Entrepreneurs realize that there is a chance of loss inherent in achieving their goals, yet they have the confidence necessary to take calculated risks to achieve their goals.

Entrepreneurs are people who will make decisions, take action, and think that they can control their own destinies. They are often motivated by a spirit of independence which leads them to believe that their success depends on raw effort and hard work, not luck.

So which of these three main characteristics is the most important? Believe it or not, it has to be self-confidence. Without self-confidence, nothing else is possible. If you don’t believe in your abilities, then the first challenge that arises may knock you off the path to achieving your goals.

Here are a few things to keep in mind for maintaining a higher level of self-confidence.

A. Positive Thinking

It all starts with a positive attitude, doesn’t it? Believing that something good will happen is the first step. Negative thinking simply is not allowed. You must truly believe that there are no circumstances strong enough to deter you from reaching your goals. Remember too, that positive thinking can be contagious. When positive thinking spreads, it can open doors to new ideas, customers, friends, etc.

B. Persistent Action

Now all of the positive thinking and believing in the world is useless if it is not applied towards a goal. You have to take action, no excuses are allowed. This action must also be persistent. Trying once and then giving up is not going to be enough. Keep at it one step at a time. If you can’t get by a certain step, then find a creative way to try again or just go around it.

In the beginning, we identified a few traits which are common among successful entrepreneurs. You should be able to look ahead and see yourself where you want to be. Now just maintain a strong belief in yourself and your skills, stick with it, and don’t give up. If you can do that, you’re already half way there!

Like a great lily in the shadowy glade where

In the head like a kick gods

who bit mankind sucked joyfully;
in hideous love-making on each skull;
and among water-lilies!

star which is melting away!

The wind kisses her breasts the shivering willows.
– its coolness on my feet, the flowers that you picked.
To the evening breeze dropping pollen like commas.
– nubile and full-blooded being a goddess with the.

Like a great lily, in the shadowy glade where
into the deep ocean

and the poet says
tremble at the tones flower-flesh perfumed;

I no longer felt myself,

whose sobs realize incredible floridas ,
stronger than alcohol lightnings and

the yellow-blue awakenings
dawns are heartbreaking,

i hung there

Jay’s Tantra: To resolve a Dilemma

Sometimes, I have dilemma.  Mostly the decision is about People who come in my life, stay there, get benefitted, some reciptrocate, some don’t. Some cost me money, some Time, Some deep efforts and some simply gifts and for some I give all that I have.

Then come some moments, decisive when the masks are unpeeled, they fall off, the gloves come off, bad behaviour, attitude, insults start hurting and I realise the my Trust was ill-placed. I have made a huge error of judgement.

In such times, I use Jay’s Tantra. The simplest way is to consult and seek advice from the Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipotent  – The Om -HIMSELF.   I go to BhagvadGita and choose a random shloka. I also go to a Bible someone gifted me years ago.  I take a Verse for Bible.

I then decipher meaning as per my understanding and draw inferences.  These are not regular moments, they happen when I have a deep dilemma.  It is never a Conscience issue though as Conscientious decisions come to me quick and fast – No problem there.

Today’s Dilemma was solved by these two and I urge readers to try this if you come across such difficult moments in life.

This is what came out as Random Verse from Bible:

Proverbs 23:9

Passage:

Do not speak to fools,

for they will scorn your prudent words.

This is what came as Random Shloka from Gita

Srimad Bhagavad Gita

Chapter 2 Sloka 70

Got it!

Yes. I got my answer to the dilemma. That’s Jay’s Tantra.  Use it sparingly and only in dire situations with full belief and trust in the Almighty. Amen!

Theta Brainwave – Free Verse by Jay Parkhe

Theta

Free verse by jay

Because I could not induct Theta Wave,
they just inducted it for me.
Theta, Theta, every where,
Yet not a brain to induct.

I cannot but help stop and look at this magnetic depolarization.
Does the depolarization make you shiver?
does it?

Do you believe  the sinusoid is regular?
sinusoid seems irregular beyond belief.
Are you upset by how unorthodox it is?
Does it tear you apart to see the sinusoid so overground?

cunning rhythmicity sings a sonic boom
Never forgetting sly and artful rhythmicity.

Strange Bio-Rhythms, Random Phrases, creativity and Daily WebLog :)

I believe in Bio-Rhythms. Have done so for over 30 years – ever since I read the book about the research on Bio-rhythms and wanted to buy the Japanese – CASIO watch which showed 3 biorhythms – Physical, Emotional and Intellectual.  They also sold Cards in those days where you can calculate your critical days and avoid major financial decisions, Driving, Flying a plane etc. etc. etc.

It was interesting when I found the Apps on Android and iPhones.  I downloaded and saw a fourth one added – i.e. Intution !   I said, it is getting interesting.  As per initial book if I were to calculate I should have been Dead when I was 58+ i.e. 23 X 28 X 33 days = 58 years, …. days.  I did not believe it. The book also talked about how they scientifically studied the Date of birth and time of birth of the Rail, Plane, Sea, Cycle, Bicycle, Car, Bus and Electrical accidents and deaths.  It appeared scientific and eventhough a Skeptic I said let us give it a try and it has remained with me as a Daily watch every morning before my morning walks – to watch in the phone.

Today was not supposed to be great.  The biorhythm explanation said do and see what Random Phrases turned up this morning.

  1. Hard Pill to Swallow Meaning: Something that’s difficult to accept.  Wife was travelling and I had to cut short my morning walk by 2/3rd to be back home for opening door for the housemaid.
  2. Yada Yada Meaning: A way to notify a person that what they’re saying is predictable or boring.  I recall having done this a few days ago and quite harshly using all the bitterness and venom in my brain flowing thru my fingers and typing.
  3. Money Doesn’t Grow On Trees Meaning: Suggests that money is a resource that must be earned and is not one that’s easily acquired. True enough, nothing worth challenging the statement but which tree to plant is a question came to my mind as I am seriously thinking of joining some Kisan Morcha of a political party and fight for their rights.
  4. On the Same Page Meaning: Thinking alike or understanding something in a similar way with others.  Not happening with me for few months. I am too much of a challenger this year and have broken off with many due to differences, attitudinal issues or having met simple INGRATES and suckers and some who were a disgrace to the word MENTOR.
  5. No-Brainer Meaning: Anything that requires minimal brain activity to accomplish.  Yeah, Yeah, Yeah,  I recently heard a speech and to a longwinded un=stupid question ( questions are never stupid – answers are) the speaker could not properly respond.  I thought of C A P – Common sense, Alert response, Presence of mind  – if this was used by the old man = A DTM ( toast masters lingo)  he would have been better off.
  6. Read ‘Em and Weep Meaning: Often said by the winner in poker, as the others ‘weep’ over the loss.   No. Not happening. I am playing for negotiation, accent, agreement these days perforce.
  7. Jumping the Gun Meaning: Something that occurs too early before preparations are ready. Starting too soon.  May be, I should have waited for the 500 words contest write up submission till the last date but I just sent it.  I also sent an article 3 months before the magazine is due to be published on the occasion of an International conference in which the organisers wish to invite me.
  8. Dropping Like Flies Meaning: To fall down ill or to die in large numbers.  We had this with our relatives family when every one fell sick couple of weeks ago. Mumbai weather made me sick too.
  9. Goody Two-Shoes Meaning: A smugly virtuous person.  I met one recently, was introduced by a friend, highly recommended but the guy was so snooty, SOB and highhanded – he did not even offer to shake hands.  I said F. Off!
  10. Fish Out Of Water Meaning: Someone being in a situation that they are unfamiliar or unsuited for. Not seen this yet, but the Astrologer friend’s remark about a foreign proposal that it will be below dignity if we accept was intriguing.  Need to probe him further.

So overall still an interesting day.

Thursday Mentor – Free Verse by Jay Parkhe

Greed

Free verse by jay

Because I could not lead for Greed,
it did kindly lead for me.
Pause to lead, like the Greed does.

Pay attention to the selfish,
the selfishness is the most Alchoholic stinginess of all.
Does the selfishness make you shiver?
does it?

Pay attention to the stupid,
stupidity is the most brilliant mistake of all.
Stupids are impressive. stupidity is magnificent,
stupid are vivid, however.

Why would you think egotists are large?
egotists are the most little pride of all.
Are you upset by how smaller they are?
Does it tear you apart to see the egotism so least?

3 Cold Calling Mistakes that Trigger Rejection

Word Count:
710

Summary:
In our efforts to HyperScale the business in the formative stage of the business, an Entrepreneur – willy-nilly, beegins Cold Calling upon advice. In the old cold calling mindset, we are taught to focus on the sale and be completely confident that what we are offering is something the other person should/must buy.

As the Startup business begins to gain scale and there builds a pressure on the SMEs to HyperScale due to pressure on Breakeven, Investor push etc. they begin to use some of the oft-repeated menthods to bring the Sales volumes up. One of them is Cold Calling.
Here are 3 common cold calling techniques that we should avoid:

Mistake #1: Center the conversation around us and what we have to offer

In this old approach, we introduce ourself, explain what we do, and suggest a benefit or feature of our product. And then we close our eyes and pray that the other person will be interested

Unfortunately, the moment you stop talking you usually hear,

“Sorry, I’m busy,” or “Sorry, I’m not interested.”

  • We’ve started your cold call by talking about your world and what you have to offer. But realistically, most people aren’t all that interested in you. When you talk about your company and your product, it’s just another advertisement to them. We haven’t engaged them, so they often just “turn the page.”
  • Prospects are much more interested in themselves and whatís important to them. So if you start the conversation by focusing on their world, theyíre more likely to interact with you.
  • So instead, talk about an issue or problem they may need solving. Focus on them rather than on what you have to offer. And see where it takes you.

Mistake #2: Be confident they should buy your product or service

In the old cold calling mindset, you’re taught to focus on the sale and be completely confident that what youíre offering is something the other person should buy.

  • The problem with this approach is that you havenít asked them to determine this along with you. So think about it ñ in the old mindset, youíre really deciding for someone else whatís good for them. I know this isnít intended, but thatís exactly what comes across to your prospects.
  • So rather than being full of confidence and enthusiasm, stop for a minute and think about the other individual. Relax into a real conversation instead of moving into a persuasive strategy or sales pitch. Put yourself in their shoes and invite them to explore along with you whether what you have to offer is a match for them.
  • Others really can distinguish the difference. Youíre inviting them to see if you might be able to help them solve a problem. This makes for a much better connection right at the beginning, and youíll get that immediate rejection reaction much less.

Mistake #3: When someone brings up an objection, try to overcome it

You know, one of the reasons cold calling is so difficult is that sometimes you may not be very familiar with the other person and their business. When you make that first call, you donít know very much about their issues, problems, budget, and time constraints.

Chances are, not everyone is going to benefit by your product or service.

  • So realistically, your company or product isnít going to be a match for everyone. And yet, when someone brings up an objection (“we donít have the budget for that,” etc.), the old cold calling mindset trains you to “overcome,” “bypass,” or “override.”
  • But when you do that, you put the other person on the defensive. Something theyíve said is being dismissed. And hereís where rejection can happen very suddenly.
  • So it ís much better to listen to their concerns and continue to explore whether what youíre offering makes sense for them. There are some wonderful phrases you can use that validate their viewpoint without closing the conversation.
  • So now youíve discovered the 3 major cold calling mistakes people often make. See if you can shift away from those old self-sabotaging mindsets. When you do, youíll notice that people will engage you much more, and the immediate rejection youíve grown so accustomed to will happen much less.

Greed 2.0

Free verse by jay

Because I could not lead with Greed,
it did kindly lead for me.
Greed, Greed, every where,
Yet not a Rupee to lead.

I cannot help but stop and look at the Alchoholic’s selfishness.
Does the selfishness make you shiver?
does it?

Pay attention to the stupid,
stupidity is the most brilliant fault of all.
Stupidity is glorious. stupidity are bright,
stupids are smart as a whip, however.

Pay attention to the egotists,
egotists are the most zany vanity of all.
Do egotists make you shiver?
do they?
