Did you know…
… that today is Pool Ball Run Day? On this day in 1954, Willie Mosconi set the world record for running the most consecutive pool balls. Nicknamed Mr. Pocket Billiards, Mosconi ran 526 consecutive balls without a miss during a straight pool exhibition in Springfield, Ohio. To this day the record has not been toppled and many speculate it may never be bested.
Today’s Inspirational Quote:
“Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other.”

SEASONED NUTS: QUOTABLE
|“Stress can be constructive or destructive. It can encourage or discourage, move us along or stop us dead in our tracks, and make life meaningful or seemingly meaningless. Stress can inspire you to operate successfully and perform at your maximum efficiency in a survival situation. It can also cause you to panic and forget all your training. Your key to survival is your ability to manage the inevitable stresses you will encounter. The person that survives is one who works with his stresses instead of letting his stresses work on him.”
“People under stress have the potential to panic if they are not well-trained and not prepared psychologically to face whatever the circumstances may be. While you often cannot control the survival circumstances in which you find yourself, it is within your ability to control your response to those circumstances. Learning stress management techniques can significantly enhance your capability to remain calm and focused as you work to keep yourself and others alive. A few good techniques to develop include relaxation skills, time management skills, assertiveness skills, and cognitive restructuring skills (the ability to control how you view a situation). Remember, “the will to survive” can also be considered “the refusal to give up.””
Drawing is an ancient human activity, practiced by all persons. How do I get to the airport? Pretend your phone is dead, so forget GPS. Anyone trying to answer that question is likely to say, “Here, let me show you…” and grab a pencil and an envelope to scribble on. That’s drawing! We use it all the time. Explain the rules of hockey. Describe geology. Help me understand “The Mason-Dixon Line.” These things have to be manifested visually.
Your own mind is a sacred enclosure into which nothing harmful can enter except by your permission. ~ Arnold Bennett
I have fired myself whenever I was performing badly – whether it was a Cricket Club, a Debating/Elocution/Extempore speech contest, A Course of study where I realized – I had really no aptitude, interest in it. Pseudo friendships where I realized – either of us was a pseudo and faking friendship for selfish reasons ( yes, I confess🤬😠. From Very respected people who instead of mentoring, guiding me – tried to dominate me, brainwash me into ideologies I was not convinced about or exploited by ‘Over-Disciplining’ me, I walked away from a Monster at 10 – a political leader running a 16000 children organisation because he wanted to sexually misuse me – I was violent and was Disciplined (?caned black and blue by my parents first and later they saw the point of WHY). I let go of many fiends and mentees who were unworthy of being friends or coachees who were uncoachable or Mentorees whose intent was not truthful. A CEO is a person at the TOP and there u r usually alone. Mentoring C-Suite aspirants or SME owners, Board position aspirants I have driven home this point. In this solitude (not loneliness) I share how we can find balance, equanimity, happiness what I learnt early in life as “Things Average out – Good and bad days come in exactly equal proportion in our lives”. Just one sentence can trigger, prompt, nudge, give cues, motivate, sparkle or show you Daylight Stars (Din me Taare 😀😀😀) . Some times we should allow our mind to roam free, in past, present and future and imagine the unimaginable and return all charged up – ready to face the life. We are a One Person Company, We are the CEOs of our life.
Take this morning, I just opened the WhatsApp and my mentor had shared the good news that both of us have won the Triple Crown at Toastmasters together and we shall receive this on 26th May when the International President is visiting for a program called Coronation. WOW! A grateful thanks to my Mentor Mr. Askander Mirza for his guidance and mentoring.
W e like to talk Business and Finance. Figured we should do it for a living.
Sunday kicked off the Festival/Dance/Carnival (you get the point!?) of Democracy. But we spent our time discussing:
The Troubles of Boeing
Boeing’s reputation has once again come into question following the recent Ethiopian Airlines crash that came barely six months after the Lion Air crash late last year. The proximity of these two crashes involving the same aircraft model has led to countries around the world grounding the Boeing 737 MAX. We discuss what this could mean for Boeing and how its competitors potentially stand to gain from the entire episode.
How RBI’s Rate Cut Not Hitting your Loan has Something to Do with Your FD
Of late, mutual funds have witnessed an increasing churn and FD is emerging as the favoured asset class. One reason could be equities and riskier asset classes not performing in line with expectation. Another could be the slump in savings which has naturally incentivised banks to have a high deposit rate. Within this background we discuss why RBI’s rate cut is not translating on ground despite multiple reminders from the Central Bank.
