… that today is 40-Hour Work Week Day? In 1940, the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 went into effect. One of its major provisions was the 40-hour work week. Trivia buffs: Henry Ford popularized the 40-hour work week after he discovered through his research that working more yielded only a small increase in productivity that lasted a short period of time.
