… that today is the anniversary of Sybil Ludington’s Ride? In 1777, 16-year-old Sybil Ludington rode her horse from New York to Connecticut during the night to rally her father’s militia. She rode more than twice the distance of Paul Revere. This is especially remarkable because modern day endurance horse riders using lightweight saddles can barely ride such distances in daylight over well-marked courses.
