Did you know…

… that today is First U.S. Earth Satellite Day? Explorer I, the first U.S. earth satellite, was put into orbit around the earth on this day in 1958. It was the first spacecraft to detect the Van Allen radiation belt, returning data until its batteries ran out after nearly four months. It entered Earth’s atmosphere and burned up on March 31, 1970, after more than 58,000 orbits.

February: A month to rekindle old feelings

February: A month for rekindling old feelings  As the newness of the year begins to fade, and temperatures start to rise, warm clothes will once again be shelved, until next time.
The month of February offers the promise of life returning to the ‘old normal’, albeit gradually. As a highly anticipated vaccine is rolled out, hope seems to blossom across the country.
Office bags will be dusted off. School uniforms pressed to a crisp. Lovebirds will whisper sweet nothings over candlelight dinner instead of a video call.
This month is bound to bring back all those familiar feelings that so many have missed. Budgets will once again be reviewed. Some resolutions may fall to the wayside.
Travel plans will be made more freely. And almost a whole year later, select sporting events will welcome excited spectators, although in limited numbers.
February, while short and sweet is choc-a-bloc with events. And that means plenty of opportunities to keep that connection with your audience going.
