… that today is Silent Comedian Day? Philadelphia comedian, Ernie Kovacs, became a major star on this day in 1957, when he was able to pull off the challenge of doing a half-hour TV show without uttering a single word of dialogue. Many shows, such as Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In, Saturday Night Live, Monty Python, Captain Kangaroo, and Sesame Street are credited with having been influenced by Kovacs.
