Did you know…
… that today is Plush Animal Lover’s Day? The objective of this day is simple: enjoy and appreciate your plush animals. Give them a little love and special attention today. And, if they’ve lost a little of their “plush,” that’s okay – just give them some extra love!
Did you know…
… that today is Navy Day? Ahoy there, Sailor. This day is for you! Navy Day is commonly celebrated on October 27 and was selected because it was the birth date of President Teddy Roosevelt, an avid supporter of the U.S. Navy. Later research determined that the birthday of the U.S. Continental Navy was October 13, 1775. Efforts were made to move Navy Day to this date but Navy Day is still largely recognized as October 27. Give a salute to your proud U.S. Navy and to the sailors who serve our country.
“The less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve.Any time you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases your mediocrity. An important attribute in successful people is their impatience with negative thinking and negative acting people. As you grow, your associates will change. Some of your friends will not want you to go on. They will want you to stay where they are. Friends that don’t help you climb will want you tocrawl. Your friends will stretch your vision or choke your dream. Those thatdon’t increase you will eventually decrease you.Consider this:Never receive counsel from unproductive people. Never discuss your problemswith someone incapable of contributing to the solution, because those whonever succeed themselves are always first to tell you how. Not everyone hasa right to speak into your life. You are certain to get the worst of thebargain when you exchange ideas with the wrong person. Don’t follow anyonewho’s not going anywhere. With some people you spend an evening: with others you invest it. Be carefulwhere you stop to inquire for directions along the road of life. Wise is theperson who fortifies his life with the right friendships. If you run withwolves, you will learn how to howl. But, if you associate with eagles, youwill learn how to soar to great heights.”A mirror reflects a man’s face, but what he is really like is shown by the kind of friends he chooses.”The simple but true fact of life is that you become like those with whom youclosely associate – for the good and the bad.Note: Be not mistaken. This is applicable to family as well as friends.Yes…do love, appreciate and be thankful for your family, for they will always be your family no matter what. Just know that they are human first and though they are family to you, they may be a friend to someone else and will fit somewhere in the criteria above.”In Prosperity Our Friends Know Us. In Adversity We Know Our friends.””Never make someone a priority when you are only an option for them.””If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters.Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude..”..”

Red pandas have no living relatives – they aren’t even related to giant pandas.
Drill… how to come out of an Aircraft which landed on water?
You shall abide by promises you make.
You shall look only to god for what may come in the future.
You shall not give into lusts.
You shall be considerate of others well being.
You shall look after your mind and body.
You shall believe in your abilities as you believe in god.
You shall ask god for forgiveness for your sins.
You shall act upon responsibilities first before all else.
You shall not desire other’s possessions.
You shall speak falsehoods.
Blessed master, divine light of the heavens, listen to my humble prayer. Lead me by my hand so I might vanquish my demons. I plead this of you in your divine presence, o giver of life. Strengthen me with your holy kindness.
Lead the way.
There’s nothing else like it.
Moments of clarity.
We keep our promises.
It’s your choice.
Be the best you can be.
Obsession for details.
Trial and success.
It’s our pleasure.
Be the power.
The Agreeable And Sharp Snail
A Poem by Anonymous
Whose snail is that? I think I know.
Its owner is quite happy though.
Full of joy like a vivid rainbow,
I watch her laugh. I cry hello.
She gives her snail a shake,
And laughs until her belly aches.
The only other sound’s the break,
Of distant waves and birds awake.
The snail is agreeable, sharp and deep,
But she has promises to keep,
After cake and lots of sleep.
Sweet dreams come to her cheap.
She rises from her gentle bed,
With thoughts of kittens in her head,
She eats her jam with lots of bread.
Ready for the day ahead. With thanks to the poet, Robert Frost, for the underlying structure.
1. Babysit for free
2. Hold the door open for someone.
3. Loan your bicycle/car/tools to someone.
4. Take flowers to a nurses’ station – for the nurses.
5. Write compliments on sticky notes, and leave them in random places.
“Do not wait; the time will never be ‘just right.’ Start where you stand and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.”
— George Herbert
If you’re not having any second thoughts at all, it’s probably because you’re not thinking it through enough.
The hallmark of the true believer is that there’s no room for judgment. For everyone else, misgivings are a sign that you’re carefully considering the problem at hand.
