So, on Mad Hatter Day, grab yourself a top hat and have a very silly day! Trivia buffs: In 18th and 19th century England, mercury was used in the production of hat felt. The hatters were exposed daily to trace amounts, causing some workers to develop dementia (called mad hatter syndrome).
