John Cleese: ‘Does it make you laugh?’ – Big Think

via John Cleese: ‘Does it make you laugh?’ – Big Think

  • People have very subjective senses of humor, which means some jokes may be funny to certain people but not at all for others.
  • It can be hard to notice just how subject humor is because laughter has an infectious effect on people. This phenomenon is especially true in large groups of people.
  • When it comes to reviewing what jokes to put into a show, test it on friends and family to see which parts evoke laughs from them and which parts don’t.

I shall stop Mentoring from 2020

I know I am gifted. I know I find strengths and talents, hidden ones from my mentees.  But I have decided to not do it anymore in 2020.

I do not wish to be someone’s weakness.  My mentors who appeared in my life from my childhood, never became my weakness.  They found and nurtured some of the hidden talents and strengths in me by bringing them out on the fore and helping me become stronger in my strong spots.

None of my mentors was weakness focused.  None of them told me “You can become strongest in your weakest spot” . but always said, “YOU CAN ONLY CAPITALISE your STRENGTHS”,   It helped me develop a mindset and become positive.

Did you know…

Did you know…

… that today is Giant Panda Day? In 1936, Su-Lin, the first giant panda to come to the United States from China, arrived in San Francisco. The bear was sold to the Brookfield Zoo near Chicago for $8,750.

Today’s Inspirational Quote:

“Imagine you are walking in the woods and you see a small dog sitting by a tree. As you approach it, it suddenly lunges at you, teeth bared. You are frightened and angry. But then you notice that one of its legs is caught in a trap. Immediately your mood shifts from anger to concern: You see that the dog’s aggression is coming from a place of vulnerability and pain. This applies to all of us. When we behave in hurtful ways, it is because we are caught in some kind of trap. The more we look through the eyes of wisdom at ourselves and one another, the more we cultivate a compassionate heart.”

Wisdom Quotes

Succeeding starts with believing you can.

Believe you can and you’re halfway there. (Theodore Roosevelt)

When a problem arises it is not a sign to stop, it’s merely a sign to change your plans slightly.
Problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines. (Robert H. Schuller)

Riddle of the Day

____ is much more likely to encourage a customer to make a purchase.

A. A smile
B. A power pose
C. Mutual contact
D. A small gift

The answer is D., a small gift, another thing that really works in sales. This research found that if a sales agent brings their customer a small gift, the customer is much more likely to make a purchase. I would add onto this study that small gifts are good, but you know what is even better?
