… that today is Nylon Name Day? Dupont Chemical Company research teams from New York and London, led by Dr. Wallace Carothers, introduced a new fiber called nylon. Nylon was the first human-made fiber. There are many theories as to how nylon got its name, but one of the most popular is that it is named for the two international cities that cooperated in bringing this synthetic into existence.
