Fords By Zay-J An Original Song

Fords

By Zay-J

An Original Song

I get on with life as a spy,
I’m an adorable kinda person.
I like watching plays and sewing dresses.
I like to contemplate Fords.
But when I start to daydream,
My mind turns straight to BMWs.

Tralala tralala…

Sometimes I look at myself and I look into my eyes,
I notice the way I think about BMWs with a smile,
Curved lips I just can’t disguise.
But I think it’s Fords making my life worthwhile.
Why is it so hard for me to decide which I love more?
Fords or…
BMWs?

I like to use words like ‘righteo’ and ‘muppet.’
I like to use words about Fords.
But when I stop my talking,
My mind turns straight to BMWs.

Tralala tralala…

Sometimes I look at myself and I look into my eyes,
I notice the way I think about BMWs with a smile,
Curved lips I just can’t disguise.
But I think it’s Fords making my life worthwhile.
Why is it so hard for me to decide which I love more?
Fords or…
BMWs?

I like to hang out with Rich and Will.
But when left alone,
My mind turns straight to BMWs.

Tralala tralala…

Sometimes I look at myself and I look into my eyes,
I notice the way I think about BMWs with a smile,
Curved lips I just can’t disguise.
But I think it’s Fords making my life worthwhile.
Why is it so hard for me to decide which I love more?
Fords or…
BMWs?

I hate headless chickens and dead fish.
But I just think back to BMWs,
And I’m happy once again.

Tralala tralala…

RisingIndia

I do not know if the people of India understand the significance of these two news, which came today –

1.
Few days ago, US had warned India not to go forward with S400 air defence system deal with Russia, and had threatened a sanction. India went ahead with the deal. Today, US government issued a statement that it has no problem with the deal if it helps their allies (India here) to strengthen their defense capabilities.
.
2.
US has put a strong sanction against Iran, which starts next month. This means countries will not be able to trade with Iran, and doing so, they risk a sanction on themselves. Today, Petroleum Ministry issued a statement that India will continue the oil trade with Iran despite US sanctions.
.
I am not going to get into unnecessary terms like 56 inch here, but would definitely like to reiterate that this is not an old India. This is a new India, for whom its own interests matter the most. We have a powerful government who is not afraid to take any decision under international pressure when it comes to national interest. Be it using diplomacy, persuasion or power, we will go ahead with our interests.
.
This is a new country, which is asserting its growing influence!! If you cannot see this.

God bless you..

For My Petite Moonlight

A Love Poem by jay

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
An actress is petite,
And so are you.

Orchids are white,
Ghost ones are rare,
A build is wiry,
And so is your hair.

Magnolia grows,
With buds like eggs,
A complexion is tanned,
And so are your legs.

Sunflowers reach,
Up to the skies,
My face is brown,
And so are your eyes.

Foxgloves in hedges,
Surround the farms,
Your hand is tattooed,
And so are your arms.

Daisies are pretty,
Daffies have style,
Brightness is dazzling,
And so is your smile.

Moonlight is beautiful,
Just like you.

My Frenemy

My #Frenemy

An Acrostic by jay

Many jackals regret.

Young hounds pursue.
Foxy reproaches raise.

Regrettable indiscretions reproach.

Egregious indiscretions regard.

Nightly prowls scurry.

Extant romances woo.

Many dalliances fling.

Yonder jackals rove.

Capitalism

Free verse by jay

Because I could not believe in Capitalism,
it did kindly believe in me.
Does the Capitalism make you shiver?
does it?
It does believe me, it does advocate,
Should it also argue?

As globalism, however hard it tries,
Will always be for Millionaires.
Does the globalism make you shiver?
does it?

How happy is the billionaire’s corporatism!
Does their corporatism make you shiver?
does it?

Globalization is mindset.
mindset is globalization.
Are you upset by how cuckoo it is?
Does it tear you apart to see the globalization so goofy?

I saw the the little economic theory of my generation destroyed,
How I mourn the marxism.
Down, down, down into the darkness of the liberalism,
Gently it goes – the piddling, the stingy, the puny.

Because I could not believe in Capitalism,
it did kindly believe in me.
Does the Capitalism make you shiver?
does it?
It does believe me,
it does, advocate it,
it does, argue it.

This is the Brain Pickings midweek newsletter: Every Wednesday, I plunge into my twelve-year archive and choose something worth resurfacing and resavoring as a timeless pick-me-up for heart, mind, and spirit. (If you don’t yet subscribe to the standard Sunday newsletter of new pieces published each week, you can sign up here – it’s free.) If you missed last week’s archival piece – the great humanistic philosopher and psychologist Erich Fromm on the art of loving and what is keeping us from mastering it – you can read it here. And if you find any value and joy in my labor of love, please consider supporting it with a donation – over these twelve years, I have spent tens of thousands of hours and tremendous resources on Brain Pickings, and every little bit of support helps keep it going. FROM THE ARCHIVE | Why Emotional Excess is Essential to Writing and Creativity

anaisnindiary4.jpg?w=680The third volume of Anaïs Nin’s diaries has been on heavy rotation in recent weeks, yielding Nin’s thoughtful and timeless meditations on lifemass movementsParis vs. New Yorkwhat makes a great city, and the joy of handicraft.

The subsequent installment, The Diary of Anais Nin, Vol. 4: 1944-1947 (public library) is an equally rich treasure trove of wisdom on everything from life to love to the art of writing. In fact, Nin’s gift shines most powerfully when she addresses all of these subjects and more in just a few ripe sentences.

anaisnin.jpg?resize=617%2C710

Such is the case with the following exquisite letter of advice she sent to a seventeen-year-old aspiring author by the name of Leonard W., whom she had taken under her wing as creative mentor. Nin writes:

2e292385-dc1c-4cfe-b95e-845f6f98c2ec.pngI like to live always at the beginnings of life, not at their end. We all lose some of our faith under the oppression of mad leaders, insane history, pathologic cruelties of daily life. I am by nature always beginning and believing and so I find your company more fruitful than that of, say, Edmund Wilson, who asserts his opinions, beliefs, and knowledge as the ultimate verity. Older people fall into rigid patterns. Curiosity, risk, exploration are forgotten by them. You have not yet discovered that you have a lot to give, and that the more you give the more riches you will find in yourself. It amazed me that you felt that each time you write a story you gave away one of your dreams and you felt the poorer for it. But then you have not thought that this dream is planted in others, others begin to live it too, it is shared, it is the beginning of friendship and love.

[…]

You must not fear, hold back, count or be a miser with your thoughts and feelings. It is also true that creation comes from an overflow, so you have to learn to intake, to imbibe, to nourish yourself and not be afraid of fullness. The fullness is like a tidal wave which then carries you, sweeps you into experience and into writing. Permit yourself to flow and overflow, allow for the rise in temperature, all the expansions and intensifications. Something is always born of excess: great art was born of great terrors, great loneliness, great inhibitions, instabilities, and it always balances them. If it seems to you that I move in a world of certitudes, you, par contre, must benefit from the great privilege of youth, which is that you move in a world of mysteries. But both must be ruled by faith.

The Diary of Anais Nin, Vol. 4 is brimming with such poetic yet practical sagacity on the creative life and is a beautiful addition to other famous advice on writing like Kurt Vonnegut’s 8 rules for a great story, David Ogilvy’s 10 no-nonsense tips, Henry Miller’s 11 commandments, Jack Kerouac’s 30 beliefs and techniques, John Steinbeck’s 6 pointers, and Susan Sontag’s synthesized learnings.

“I love being married. It’s so great to find one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life.”

— Rita Rudner

Absolute Honesty

Be absolutely honest. God is infinite honesty.

Absolute honesty is essential in one’s search for God (Truth).

The subtleties of the path are finer than hair. The least hypocrisy becomes a wave that washes one off the path.
