The Sarcastic And Teary Best Friend

A Poem by Jay

Whose best friend is that? I think I know.
Its owner is quite sad though.
It really is a tale of woe,
I watch her frown. I say hello!

She gives her best friend a shake,
And sobs until the tears make.
The only other sound’s the break,
Of distant waves and birds awake.

The best friend is sarcastic, teary and deep,
But she has promises to keep,
Until then she shall not sleep.
She lies in bed with pillows that weep.

She rises from her crumpled bed,
With thoughts of madness in her head,
She idolises playing dead.
Facing the day with never ending dread.

With thanks to the poet, Robert Frost, for the underlying structure.

The Thundery And Blue Car

A Poem by Jay

Whose car is that? I think I know.
Its owner is quite happy though.
Full of joy like a vivid rainbow,
I watch her laugh. I cry hello.

She gives her car a shake,
And laughs until her belly aches.
The only other sound’s the break,
Of distant waves and birds awake.

The car is thundery, blue and deep,
But she has promises to keep,
After dark chocolates and lots of sleep.
Sweet dreams come to her cheap.

She rises from her gentle bed,
With thoughts of kittens in her head,
She eats her jam with lots of bread.
Ready for the day ahead.

With thanks to the poet, Robert Frost, for the underlying structure.

Did you know…

… that today is I Got You Babe Hit Day? In 1965, Sonny and Cher, a husband and wife pop music duo, made their debut on the pop singles chart with their great song, “I Got You Babe.” Performing under her first name, Cher went on to a highly successful career as a solo singer and actress, while Sonny Bono was eventually elected to Congress as a Republican U.S. Representative from California.
