People don’t leave Companies – They Leave Bad bosses

Boss will always be Boss.
Bosses will be bosses !
Boss hidden agenda
The board of directors for a large company, believing it was time for a shake-up, hires a new CEO.
This new boss is determined to rid the company of all slackers and laggards, so on a tour of the facilities during his first day, the CEO notices a guy leaning casually against the wall.
The room is full of workers and he wants to let them all know he means business, and wasting time on the clock is not acceptable.
The CEO walks up to the guy and asks, “And how much money do you make a week?”
A little surprised, the young fellow looks at him and replies, “I make $300.00 a week. Why?”
The CEO reaches into his wallet, hands the guy $1,200 in cash, and screams, “Here’s four weeks pay, now GET OUT and don’t come back!”
Feeling pretty good about his first firing, the CEO looks around the room and asks, “Does anyone want to tell me what that goof-off did here aside from standing around?”
With a sheepish grin, one of the other workers mutters, “That guy delivered our pizza.”
Then there was another Boss !
Boss accomplishment
For thirty years, Mr. J had arrived at work at 9A.M. on the dot. He had never missed a day and was never late.
Consequently, when on one particular day 9 A.M. passed without J’s arrival, it caused a sensation. All work ceased, and the boss himself, looking at his watch and muttering, came out into the corridor.
Finally, precisely at ten, J showed up, clothes dusty and torn, his face scratched and bruised, his glasses bent. He limped painfully to the time clock, punched in, and said, aware that all eyes were upon him, “I tripped and rolled down two flights of stairs in the subway. Nearly killed myself.”
And the boss said, “And to roll down two flights of stairs took you a whole hour?”
Here’s to Another One !
This one happened to me.
As a Performer at Peak I was placed for 7 years in a row on the Top of the Board where they plug in the small Alphabets with your initials to denote your Name with ‘P’ and ‘A’ meaning Plan and Actuals to denote Planned Revenues and Actuals for Sales People.
Being on the Top of this chart was a proud privilege until one day, the boss called me. He loosened my initials and said ‘ This is just to make you aware of the stability of your position, even if you are on Top of the Chart ! No one is indispensable ! “
This boss had his training in Recruiting, Restructuring, Re-engineering and Retrenchment recently. It was called HR Program ! 🙂  This story is from late 80’s when Personnel departments were turning into HR Departments all over the country.
Boos is like a diaper
No wonder – Next year I decided to Quit the Company !
It is indeed true, We don’t Leave companies – We Leave Bad bosses !
Bosses will remain bosses !
